Well this car has been so popular with the forums I've decided to document every step of it . subscribe to see it change and be restored / built to an even higher standard. This was never meant to be such an in-depth project but it's simply too good to not do it and do it properly.
first tasks are to address the paintwork which is very dull and heavily scratches ( expected - it's a 30 year old metro 😂 ).
*give it a good service and change the cambelt.
*address surface rust across the car. Super minor but will stripping back areas to bare metal.
*dash out have it flocked , maybe change heater matrix while the dash is out.
*repaint roll cage to night fire red .
*repaint interior panels to night fire red.
*underside restoration.
*attend as many classic car shows as possible.

Fantastic metro, we've had a lot of these in the past 1.8 vvc, great fun cars and surprises lots if people off the light too lol, would love to see the rear suspension clioser, so l can see how the coilovers are fitted to the radius arm, cant wait to see more

Hey their buddy, ill do an in-depth video on the rear suspension setup soon...... i cant wait to do the "first drive" video.
I hope you take it on track and drive it as intended, gutted its not mine be honest dont nw why but happy for you fella ill follow to see how it goes.

Is it an actual GTi? The reason I'm asking is because it has no sunroof? I also notice it has some Rover 100 bits - the stalks & hazard light switch, but being an L reg, it would be a Metro, not a R100... I think...

It's actually a super clean non GTi ... And all the better for it imo. No sunroof , the GTi shell is no different from the base models so I'm comfortable to call it a GTi on steroids, utter joy to own, and put together so so well, Excellent spot nik. Next video on this is being edited as we speak. 😊
