The Unforgiven "2" by Metallica is literally one of the iconic songs I've ever heard in their album

I definitely think Unforgiven II is a song that doesn't get enough love, it's fantastic. And I think you'll really enjoy Unforgiven III as well, it might be my favorite of the trilogy. I would recommend listening to the studio version first so you get the full impact of the song, but there's another version that's well worth watching. When Metallica did their second set of concerts with the San Francisco Symphony(dubbed "S&M2"), James performed Unforgiven III singing solo with just the orchestra. The band wasn't playing, not even him. It's a beautiful rendition of the song.

'So what!' was a cover of punk rock band Anti-Nowhere League, who were well-known for their cursing 🤬 Metallica heard that Guns N' Roses wanted to cover it back in 1990/ '91 and somehow didn't do it... So, Metallica decided to record and release it as a 'B-side' to one of the 'black' album singles... It made the 2nd disc of their covers album 'Garage inc.' in 1998.

"I'll take this key, and i'll bury it and you, becuase you're unforgiven too!". There you have it. If you expect "love" or something along the lines from others, you'll be facked. It has to come from within.

Inna, I've seen Metallica 5 times now and every time was better than before!! Just saw them last night in Chicago!

Definitely one of my favourite Metallica song. Unforgiven, Unforgiven II, Memory Remains and their cover of Whisky in the Jar are my favourite songs done by them.

This song is an absolute masterpiece, I am a rare Metallica fan who loves every piece of MetallicA, in fact they didn't write a song I didn't love until the hardwired album which still had some good songs on it. Kill em All through Death Magnetic are flawless if you grew up in the 90s as I did. I was born in '84 and got my first MetallicA CD in 1996 and it was the Load album. Maybe that's why I'm able to accept their different eras or maybe it's bc I understand that a truly dynamic person forcefully evolves over time if you are to move forward and improve in life.

Don't be so sure. Part 1 and 2 are my favorite Metallica songs, and I hated 3. I feel like fans of earlier Metallica liked 3 better than the other 2 whereas fans of the Black album and later Metallica albums like the other two better.

Unforgiven is about the "western society" being unforgiven, because all of what society does to people. In this song "Unforgiven II" YOU are the unforgiven :)

For me it's better than Unforgiven eaven if I grow up with that,my first cassette recording:)..I love this age of Metallica,I don't know,but there is something special for me..

So What isn't a song from the Black Album. It's a cover they released as the B side on both of the Unforgiven and the Sad but True singles, and while both of those songs are on the Black Album, So What is not. Other covers they released on Black Album singles include Stone Cold Crazy by Queen and Killing Time by Sweet Savage. An international version of the Sad but True single also included an all acoustic version of Nothing Else Matters if that interests you.

You should check out Tommy Johansson (reinxeed). He's our swedish Lion from the north! With the voice of an Angel. He's former guitarist in Sabaton and singer/guitarist in Majestica and does covers every week here on youtube. He does everything by himself and they're epic! This week he did Beyonce Texas hold'em. Very fun! I would also recommend She's gone, You raise me up and Phantom of the Opera. But in reality, every song is amazing!

Great reaction, just can’t get into Metallica post …And Justice For All. They would not have even considered writing this in their thrash heyday. Not being elitist, nothing wrong with people loving this era of Metallica, I just wish they wouldn’t have changed

'Unforgiven II' is literally a country song 🤮... "Unforgiven III' was whiny and boring in my opinion 🙄 This was from their 1997 'alternative rock' album 'Reload'... it has good moments but is not a metal album. Nothing tops the original 'The Unforgiven'... despite being a total ballad.
