For Whom the Bell tolls seems to be a song where they just have the most fun. God, there is so much stupid stuff going on in the intro xD James playing his guitar with a drumstick and hitting the cymbal, Kirk running around like a maniac, Rob throwing himself to the ground. I love every second of that

Lars didn't sound half as great as his does now. They buckled down and decided internally to be more technically accurate in the quality of tehir live performances; a tremendous and correct decision.

@@DekkarJr He's quit doing the double-bass rolls he used to do in the intro, though, and it's noticeable if you've listened to a lot of old live performances and you're looking for them.
Its heartwarming to see the guys having so much fun on stage. After all this years.

True musician, he's always taken a backseat rolled with the history and remained true to himself. In every group, not even just bands could be friends or family.. but there's always that one person who holds it together and respected by all without praise. Rob has been that dude since he started, the final piece.

Its awesome to see and hear the little things Rob does with the basslines throughout the song
Everything was so perfect - rob's bass tone, kirk's solo, james voice and lars is in another level
This band demonstrates how longevity is done right. The hard work pays off they sound amazing lately. Lars is so on point too. Slowing stuff down a bit works wonders. Nobody says hes he best drummer ever, but he's on fire. And hes always going to be one of the most historically important musicians of all time for his contributions to the music world. I fucking love metallica and so happy were all alive in this time to enjoy em together my metal brothers and sisters

There's nothing like being at a concert where the crowd is singing so loud you can physically feel the music being pushed back to the stage. You don't forget it.
They are getting better year by year. Lars is a monster recently.

ummm....i guess you missed the part where James had to literally grab a stick and get in some cymbal hits to show where beat 1 is for Lars, then had to stay and tap out 4 on the drum platform cuz he has no idea how to count. when the vocals come in he was dragging on the snare hits with enough time bake a pie.

So good to hear this song played in its original it's original tempo. It feels much heavier this way.
Never have I seen the band soooo alive. And the love and acknowledgement James gives Rob. It’s special because I grew up in the Jason era. And you felt the distance (understandable distance). And with Rob it’s like he was the one to fill the void after Cliff. So glad he’s there.

I knew this was the best band on the planet in the late '80s early '90s when I wore the full Master of Puppets backpatch on my jean jacket. RIP Cliff. This song has always been a favorite of mine. Ride the Lightning is the best album. Annnnd.. Rob has his hair down hahaha 🤘🖤

Imagine how many times these guys have played this song since 1984 ( of course Rob's number is considerably less but) seeing them still having an absolutely great time with them selves and the crowd is so awesome.

Metallica has been one of my favorite bands since middle school. The energy and presence they give off in their performances is insane. One of the greatest metal bands of all time, without a doubt. Love these guys

La primera vez que los vi, fue en el Estadio Olímpico de Montjuic (Barcelona, 1991). No han perdido ni la Fuerza ni Talento, excepto la voz de James....(que está muy jodida). El 8 de Agosto cumplirá 59 años, y en aquella época nadie, absolutamente NADIE, hubiera pensado que un Grupo de "Trhash Metal" podría tocar en el año 2022. Ni siquiera Metallica.

FANTASTIC LIVE rendition, that's the greatest live rendition I think I've ever heard of this song. Roberts bass Kirk's guitar, Lars drums right on point, and of course James is always right on. Purely awesome!

My first seeing Metallica live was in 2012, in Madrid, too. My second was this one. I couldn't and can't believe how good they are live, both times you played more than great. I specially love these two shows among any other bands that I've seen playing, because in the first I went with my dad, and in the second one I was able to invite my little brother. Metallica was my first concert ever, as well as my brother's. You guys are fucking awesome and I hope that I'm able to repeat a third time, in Madrid or wherever you play. I fucking love you.

Metallicas only about 15 months older than me. They played their 1st live show 1 year before I was born. I was 28 days old when Dave was booted onto that greyhound bus going back to Cali from NYC.
