I'm not trying to trigger anyone and I'm glad you guys are still with us and turned a new leaf. But how did a song about someone killing themselves save you? Once again, I'm not trying to offend anyone. Just curious.

@@nrsolja1022 For me the song was like an emotional catharsis when I listened to it in my darkest days. Each time I listened the song all my negative emotions poured out and after it I was left emotionally empty, but in a positive way. I threw away all those negative thoughts. And with time negative emotions & feelings vanished and I was still alive...

Both obligations, and other things that bring me joy. Including listening to my music CD's on my stereo or portable player. My mental health benefited from an immense boost of positivity. Now at 51 this is a song that I listen to daily, and when the time comes I want this played as I fade away.... and I already have it set up to be played LOUD at my graveside for my journey home. This is the best iteration of the solo from Kirk that I have heard in years. I was shocked when he went into the first arpeggiation and he didn’t slap on the wah like normal. Not that I hate the wah, but it was refreshingly clean and tight, with very few modal errors. I don’t think he has ever played it the same live as he did in the recording (even in the old bootlegs from 85-86), however this iteration was pretty damn good.

One thing about Metallica, they have so many good songs that many will have many different favorites. But vast majority will have this one in the top 5, and it’s cause this song has so much character is which why I love this one so much

Kirk's Les Paul rings beautiful as ever, James gripping voice delivers the chills as ever. Rob's bass ripping and Lars' kicks and hits driving the song. Yeah, it's simply a joy to listen and watch this. Metallica

This was my first Metallica song. I'm 43 and heard this when I was a kid. My mom used to listen to Led Zeppelin, Creedance and many other classics. I only understood the meaning of the song after I learned english. It is deep and raise awareness, but the melody is a masterpiece. Timeless.

I really do love the livin shit out of James for pausing the song to shout out to every one who is struggling with depression, madness, suicide. It really does help to know your hero struggles with the same things but chooses to fight constructively and be a shining example to all those in need. Rock on James!

This song is the meaning of that part of life where we don't have, or rather we think we don't have, someone... But personally in my worst moment, I only remember that when I woke up my hand was held by my best friend, and that It is the most beautiful gesture that someone had with me... I get a lump in my throat when I listen to it... It is personally my favorite Metallica song... I am grateful that I woke up at that moment and that I am where I am!! !

Life, it seems, will fade away Drifting further, every day Getting lost within myself Nothing matters, no one else I have lost the will to live Simply nothing more to give There is nothing more for me Need the end to set me free Things not what they used to be Missing one inside of me Deathly loss, this can′t be real I cannot stand this hell I feel Emptiness is filling me To the point of agony Growing darkness, taking dawn I was me, but now he's gone No one but me Can save myself But it′s too late Now I can't think Think why I should even try Yesterday seems as though It never existed Death greets me warm Now I will just say goodbye Bye...
