Anyone that says "Ghost is overrated" has not listened to them. Tobias is just a genius and people think that because there is so much that is obviously influenced by other bands that he is just copying them. If you listen, you know that it's all original and it's way more complicated musically than anything that was done by the bands of the 80's. This is one of my favorite bands, and watching this video just takes me back to the rituals I've seen and I want more! By the way, not sure if you're trying to stay chronological in order, if so you'll have to wait, but Griftwood is one you're going to want to hear. Mummy Dust should be on the list, too. :)

🤘 Faith is such a banger live and the crowd always gets so into it. I always enjoy your Ghost reactions - it brings me back to when I first heard these songs. I would recommend Absolution from the Meliora album, Witch Image from the Prequele album, and Watcher in the Sky from the Impera album. Also from Impera, Twenties rocks pretty hard (but has also been divisive amongst fans due to some new and unusual choices), and Respite on the Spitalfields is just amazing. NEMA! 🤘

Love your reaction. What is most refreshing and exciting about Ghost is great songwriting. I'm not trying to over-simplify, but so many musicians focus on complexity and miss the making a song from that. Playing Ghost isn't that difficult, but writing songs as exciting, and memorable as Ghost is extremely difficult. Anyone who thinks Ghost is over-rated is missing out on all the fun - and one of the best bands around.

Fully agreed on that simplicity note. I know you talked about their solo work on a different vid, but in general their songs are always pretty 'tidy.' But I think Ghost/Tobias do a great job of making it all seem easy. Covering the song? Sure, not gonna be all that challenging. The real key is in the composing. Being able to blend all these simple elements in a manner that ends up complementing every other individual aspect is a giant talent of his. He makes it seem so easy to do it, writing songs that make you go, "Omg, why didn't I just do that????" They're a stellar example of "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts."

The guitar you asked about is a Hagström Fantomen. Per (solo) plays the white one and Chris (rhytm) plays the black one. The used this setup for the whole Prequelle tour but as Per never liked it (it's a heavy guitar) he now has gone back to his favorite guitar. A white Fender Stratocaster that you can see if you watch clips from the Impera Tour. Chris still plays on the Hagström thou.
