Unfortunately, quite often I read negative opinions about Dimash here on YT, mostly people criticize his high-pitched mix, which is unpleasant for their ears, and also write about the lack of emotion in Dimash's singing. In the first case, I think that someone simply has a low tolerance for such high notes. I know people who can't stand Mariah Carey and stuff like that, my grandfather can't even stand John Legend and he doesn't even have very high notes. They write that Dimash screams, but they don't understand that even in the crazy highest notes he has perfect control, with perfect vibrato. And little emotion? This is ridiculous in Dimash's case. Those people mostly heard only one song of Dimash in a competition where he performed vocal gymnastics and know almost nothing about his singing. I've also read criticism that Dimash doesn't have his own songs, that's again a big ignorance of his repertoire. He has at his disposal the great composer Igror Krutoy and he writes some songs himself, the latest one was even written for him by his younger brother. Some people find it annoying that Dimash sings a lot in a classical style, some people only like catchy pop songs. These negative opinions appear mainly for videos like the best singer in the world and the like. People can't stand that Dimash sings better than their favorite singer, they write that Dimash is just showing off. But Dimash is not showing off, he is not to blame for the fact that he can do things that other singers can't. And above all, art is not a competition. So yes, even Dimash is sometimes criticized. But that's ok, every artist in the world has their haters. The main thing is that Dimash has millions of fans all over the world who love and support him.

There is a video of DQ at a vocal competition when he was in his teens and a male judge ripped him saying something to the effect that he sounded like a screaching woman and he said it in such a biting way, and you could see the look on DQs face.....I bet that judge is sorry now! 🤣😂

This is a wonderful way to get to know Dimash, his generosity, humility, respect and kindness are so wonderful, I believe that these qualities are what takes him to the highest level for his Dear’s. He is obviously a perfectionist and I am sure very critical of himself, with a song he visualizes how it should be performed based on the meaning of the song. He is very serious about his gift that he always says that he must thank God for, this is his purpose, to bring joy, peace and escape from reality for his fan’s, but he will never bring shame to his family. There’s nothing about Dimash that doesn’t make me respect him and be proud of him as if he was my own son, he’s unique in so many ways. He also does have a wonderful sense of humor ❤. Thank you John, many people don’t get to know the person behind the voice and that person is definitely worth understanding and appreciating.

You are correct, there is nothing to criticize, yet some people are not ashamed to do it. Envy is an ugly thing, thankfully Dimash does not pay attention to mean comments, he is too busy creating and evolving, and we are so incredibly lucky to be alive and witness this marvel. Thanks for your reaction! Btw, regarding how humble he is in real life, his mom has said that she doesn't recognize her son when he is on stage) Our boy is in the zone when he is performing, peace!

Actually there have been critical elements everywhere. Word pronounciation for example but I suspect less obvious ones as well. After 1000 years of subjugation, the push to regain tradition and lost culture would be very strong. In this atmosphere, a creative and innovative, (not traditional), musical genius is born. I believe the time Dimash spent swimming upstream in his early life is not focused on but hinted. Notice how Erlan honestly shared how he suggested Dimash should remain focused on reality. I saw that video in his teens when that judge ripped into him for screaching like a woman and including non traditional notes in his performance. Then notice how gracefully his mom states that he learned and practised the whistle register on his own. I believe life was harder than stated but this was necessary to develop stubborness and will power to carry him through into his dreams. He will need every bit of this to carry him through fame and the maze of corruption that graces the Americain entertainment industry. May his soul shine brightly in all the dark corridors that he might walk in the future. 🥰 🥰🥰 Canadian Dear forever 🇨🇦

I'm so happy that someone has finally reacted to this series of amazing videos. Unfortunately Dimash has his share of haters, someone called him a circus act recently but surely if you're given a gift like his and you've worked every day of your life to perfect it there's not much point in all that work if you then limit yourself to a 2 octave range?

  • @maykacha4987

One way to look at it is he has to be good to have haters. Unfortunately, sad that anyone who has skill and a following will have antis/haters. Hopefully, he doesn’t listen to them. I never understand hate. If you don’t like something just don’t do it or listen to it. Being jealous/envious of anyone who does something well, I guess is a fairly normal reaction. Acting on it however is another thing.

It is very nice to see you discovering these films: not a lot of reactors go beyond his performances and his vocal skills. And Dimash is so more than the best vocalist ever. His interviews give a deeper comprehension of who he is and why he is so loved by his fanbase: his connection with his Dears is exceptional because beyond his incredible talent, he is a beautiful human being, a deep soul, a peace ambassador, who wants to transcend cultures, religions and boundaries. He is an absolute genius.

I am glad you enjoyed the video. Dimash had a lot of criticism as he was starting out especially. He was told by professionals that he didn’t sing right in a sense. I think because he was adding classical and pop into the same songs. Also because they felt he shouldn’t use his full range. He just stuck to what he wanted for himself. A lot say he doesn’t sing live. Partially because many Russian shows won’t allow live you have to lip sync. They use those clips to *prove* he doesn’t sing live. Yes, you are right much of that is jealousy. I can certainly understand if his music isn’t for someone. I certainly don’t like music by every singer. It is personal taste. I feel though even if you don’t enjoy it you should be able to appreciate the talent and effort. He was told by those professionals if he continued to sing the way he was he would never make it professionally. His success is his best answer to those critics.

A lot of people just... dont feel Dimash. They hear him, they think he sounds great, they might even be mesmerised by the performance, but they dont feel the message being conveyed or the emotion. I personally don't really get that. I consider that a strong suit of his, the emotive expression. Yet some people.. dont. I even saw one person say he has 'no emotional intelligence' which is just slander of character and is something I cannot put up with.

@@Ascension721 I agree, I always connect to the emotions in his music. However, I can understand if he is not for everyone. I rarely like every song by every artist I enjoy. There are some I just don’t personally enjoy. Of course, I wouldn’t make disparaging comments about them because I understand there are people who love that group or artist. Just not my personal taste. So that to me is okay, just no need for nasty comments on reactions or to the artist/group. I will never understand anti behaviour of going onto reactions or the artist page and making nasty comments. Just don’t listen if you don’t like it. Lol I think that is pretty simple

@@maykacha4987 I have actually commented directly to the people who have done that....why come to someone's page just to criticize them? It's so immature. Instead go and support the artists you love. How hard is that to understand?

Finally an reactor who do a researtch on Dimashe`s documentary movies. Instead of just listen to his voice and ask a lot of, in my opinion many stupid questions. Still after listening/reacting to him for like 8-10 times. Like HOW can he do that, DO he use autotune, IS this for real, IS he an alien, etc... Thank you so very much. I really like you. Best regards from NORWAY.

I'm so glad you decided to react to these videos! I keep recommending them because they are SO well done! They don't just give someone's opinion about Dimash, they use actual footage of him speaking and explaining things about himself. From what I've seen, the criticisms Dimash got were from different judges of singing events. They didn't like that he sang such high notes. They called it screeching. They told him that he didn't have to include his whole range in every song. Even his singing teacher told him not to practice his high range, but Dimash did it anyway when his teacher wasn't there. The teacher knew he was doing it, but was never able to catch him at it!

Mostly all his fans follow his work and these interviews speak a lot about him. I would also like to point out, he is extremely down-to-earth and modest, an exceptional being indeed, I guess that's why we love him so much! You are one of the few who is really interested in who Dimash really is, that speaks a lot about you and I respect that a lot. I wish you lots of success in your music and your work. I really liked this reaction. Lots of greetings from Germany.

Dimash was almost eliminated from a competition because he missed the bus and the bus driver said, 'Im not waiting for him". When he was asked what happened he said, I saw a wrinkle in my suit and had to iron it but when I got to the entrance of the hotel, the bus was gone - I flagged a cab driver and told him i would pay anything, anything for him to get me to the auditorium - I arrived ahead of the bus and they put me in a room and when the others arrived, I asked 'what took them so long' - and then the judges took everything about us apart - what they should have done was made me get a haircut - i don't know how I got away with it - thought I looked cool' . He also had a professor who never gave him anything but a B on a paper or exam - he said he went to him and asked what he'd done wrong - so I studied harder and I worked even harder but he never gave me anything more than a B - When I graduated and got my reports, there were nothing but A's - he'd been lying to me for years - i want to thank him for that little tidbit - made me work even harder"
