The production of this is crazy. Vocal, Geomungo, and guitar are also great, but Hwang Hyun-jo, who silently created all the sounds while taking on MIDI, percussion, and second guitar, is a crazy talent. She's such a genius artist.

I have this version on repeat in my KZread. I can’t get enough of it. Her voice, the instruments (old and modern mix together) and the arrangement was just phenomenal. I wish all of them stayed in Kardi

The judges weren't that thrilled though. They got very harsh critique saying that they overproduced the song and made it unnecessarily "flashy", just throwing in everything randomly. As a layperson I freaking loved it, but the judges didn't.

Well this song is called legends never die so the song needs to be on legend level... I am oversensory to sound...and this is perfection to my me...I hardly get chills...but this was perfection...I get chills all over everytime,❤

Superband2 was a competition show for musicians and vocalists to form bands together and perform in front of judges and each other. Hwang Hyeonjo is the name of the woman in the back with the drum, electronic gear and 2nd guitar (basically a producer, she can do it all) and she went on to join 3 others (Leenzy [vo.], Jeong Nayoung [gui.], Eun Ahkyung [dr.]) on the show and they named their band THE FIX. The 3 remaining from this performance (Kim Yeji [vo.], Hwang Leen [gui.], Park Dawool [geomungo or Korean harp] added (Inkyu [bass], Jeon Seongbae [dr.] and they named their band KARDI. ‘Legends Never Die’ is originally from the band Against The Current, Mako, League of Legends.

The instrument that you wanna figure out is Geomungo (거문고/Geo-Mun-Go), the Korean traditional instrument which has more than a thousand year history. And the player's name is Park Da-Wool. He does not put his and the instrument's limit in traditional way. He has tried to figure out to figure out the way to upgrade his playing technic and to match traditional instrument with various type of modern music.

The instrument is called Geomungo.

"Superband 2" is the name of The TV show. It was a competition show for bands. The band was literally created in the show from individuals. They decided to keep going as a band and the name is KARDI. The singer's name is Yeji Kim. She is a genius.

Seriously- I think I listened to this performance like 20 times straight. Then I started watching videos of other people reacting to this song.

I actually teared up the first time I watched the video and listen to them sing and perform

I almost cried this is beyond perfect from everyone im a wreck because i want to be there

There is another view of this song that focuses just on the singer, and stays focused on her face for another 10-20 seconds. Her face is so fierce at the end there. and the face just changes back to the baby face at the start that looks a little scared at being there. She is definitely a different person when she is singing.

The instrument the guy plays is "Geomungo", Korean traditional musical instrument with six strings, ,that is, six-stringed Korean zither.

Ahhh Kardi as they are known as. Awesome group. Yeji is amazing. You need to check out their performance on Immortal Songs. She really goes off. She also was on Korea King of Masked Singer and she won. Her vocals are amazing.

She is amazing! In that same program, a band called Crackshot participated, and their cover of "Oops i did it again" was stunning. Hope you can react to that one also, they are very talented just like Kim Yeji.

I still hope you'll try listening to Forestella's version of Legends Never Die. Forestella is a South Korean group of 4 members sung at a live performance. They participated in a competition Immortal songs 2 and won the competition.

I listened to this cover a while back, and I had CHILLS all the way through. She has a stunning, STUNNING voice, and all of the musicians are excellent. You know what's weird / cool about this performance? From what I've read the female singer, Kim Yeji, went to that competition show intending to perform solo (she had already established herself as a solo performer). But she hit it off with the other musicians that appear in the Legends Never Die video, above, and they decided to perform together for the show. After the show was over, they formalized themselves as a full band and named it Kardi.

Actually the basist of this performance (the one in the back) is the basist of THE FIX. The three people in the front (Yeji, Leen and Dawol) got together with Inkyu and Sungbae in the next round and formed KARDI together. Sungbae left the group and now they're continuing as a 4 people group.

superband is always about individual musicians being either randomly paired up with others or paired up by some other decision process. She didn't join superband WITH the others in Kardi. and then they progress through the show in various mix-match setups until the finals where they form their final setup.

Because of the spelling in the band names, many people have gotten them confused with KARD, a co-ed KPop group from 2016, who are also a typical choreographic formfactor band, just as most of KPop is today. The traditional instrument you are asking about is probably a "gayageum" (or other romanized spelling). Or maybe it's a "geomungo". I am not a professional on the subject, hehe, but I see them used on other videos. It is likely a descendant of the Chinese "guzheng", just like the Japanese "koto" is also a descendant. The Chinese guzheng is many centuries older than these Korean & Japanese versions. But one thing I wish modern Asian instrument bands do is to also electrify these ancient instruments so you can also use stomp-boxes on them for modern 20th century sound effects, like fuzz/distortion, phasering & Leslie, just like what happened to electric/electronic keyboards & guitars. You rarely see these ancient Eastern instruments, including the Indian "sitar", electrified for effects. A few have, but the majority do not, at this time.

Whilst this is good, 7000rpm is better.
