During the Festa '22, V explained why he hasn't yet released his music, saying he became dissatisfied with the flow of the tracks. Suga then said it was probably more imprortant to just release the music and learn from the experience, than to fret over the flow. Suga reasoned that most people have their own playlists to arrange their musical tastes. Suga also said that he does offer advice when asked, Yup, your're right Suga is a great Mentor!!!!

V's original version was supposed to be on his mixed tape and was all English. When they decided to put it on the BE album, some lyrics were changed and/or converted to Korean, and the rappers wrote their parts. V co-produced the song with a friend of his, NIve. NIve did a KZread explanation of the production process, breaking down all the sounds. Having watched that, for example, I know that NIve used his own voice for that musical interlude at the end of the song. :) You can actually hear a small clip of V's original song on their show In the Soop, season 1, because he sings it to himself while out on a boat on the lake.

I don't think a lot of people would understand how badly we needed not only comfort from them, but to express our sadness and depression and for it to be seen and to be okay. BTS have that constant revolving door of validation.

Although V wrote this song to be Included in his mixtape, I’m glad it was it was in the BE album. That whole album was their emotions during the pandemic, especially since no one knew how to deal with it. I’m really too emotionally attached to this song lol I’m not embarrassed to say that I cried when I saw this song live. Day 1 LA (the first time this was performed in front of army), there were so many army in front of me crying. When they walked down the stage during the instrumental part of the song was so powerful to see. And then the audacity to transition into Black Swan after 😭 V shines for me in this song, especially with how he ends it. Truly a beautiful song from start to finish 💜 P.S: All the members got to interview another member, so in this case Suga interviewed V. I think RM interviewed Suga if you’re interested in that. All members contributed to tracks in the BE album so they talk about their songs. Since it was mentioned here “Fly to my Room” is a track with just Suga, Jhope, V, and Jimin. The other three members (Jin, Jk, and RM) were in a track called “Stay”

I’ve watched a few videos that shows how supportive Suga has been to V, especially in the beginning years of BTS. As he became an older brother he was someone V could depend on to help him speak for himself within the group and in public/at events as they spoke the same dialect. As you know V is a character and some things he used to say was misunderstood by people until Suga “translated “ V language.

Like V said, he is very true to his emotions and he needs to be in the exactly right mood for a song to come through as authentically as he wants it. He’s a very sensitive, introspective person. Honestly, I feel he has that in common with SUGA, who is also one of the most emotionally vulnerable and authentic members in his songwriting, so I’m glad Suga could give him some advice here, as a person who is more experienced in writing and releasing solo songs. Once you’ve listened to more of the BE album, maybe you could react to the other 6 interviews too? They’re all super fascinating. Blue and Grey is in my top 5 favourite songs of all time, it was released during winter of 2020 when so many were dealing with extreme loneliness from the social isolation (still ongoing now of course) and I’m so grateful to him for sharing it. It feels so comforting, like someone silently sitting next to you and listening to your troubles. It’s still my go to comfort song when I’m lonely or depressed

V’s voice is so beautiful! Always touches my heart.

I also loved seeing Suga as the mentor. He applied just the right amount of pressure to encourage V to keep working on his mixtape and yet was so understanding of V’s creative process exploring being a new songwriter surrounded by some amazing songwriters and producers within BTS. It would be hard not to feel overwhelmed but Suga offered such good advice. He didn’t flex. He just listened and asked some great questions.

The first time I heard this song, I couldn’t stop crying. It came out during the pandemic and it completely explained how we all felt.

Loved this reaction!! This song is so special and V really shines, as well as all of the members! Actually recently Suga said that a lot of kpop idols come to him to ask him for advices . Also to me I think VMIN were basically flexing their vocals and their beautiful Harmonies throughout the entire album

every time V writes and composes a song it's always amazing, it just depends on his mood to release the song, he really likes to write it in English, many of his songs are in English, maybe because so that all ARMYs around the world can enjoy it, and BTS has 2 the person who has the unique voice of V and jimin, i like them both, Borahe 💜

RM and Suga have similar interviews for this album where they talk go into their song writing/ music production process, it's very interesting to listen to them talk but I guess you'll watch those when you do other songs from BE. I'm glad Suga told V that he doesn't have a narrow spectrum, RM and Suga from the start have always tried to push and help the other members to be more involved in the music production. they are all so supportive of each other, I love it.

Each of the rap parts paint a vivid picture, so beautiful. My favorite is J-HOPE's. It paints a picture of humb helplessness, like no other song ever. Regarding V's mixtape, he revealed before that he deleted some songs, including that song he played for ARMY while driving. They all suffer from massive imposter's syndrome and the songs they write are the casualties. V's solo song OST "Sweet Night" is also good, and in his wheelhouse. You'll love it!

From the moment I first listened to BE this song really stood out to me. I love it so much. I also am really, REALLY looking forward to V’s mixtape. His personal music taste as well as the style of his own music matches mine very closely. Since this interview he has told us that he binned the lot and was starting again😢. A few months ago he posted an IG story (and then promptly deleted it) of another beautiful song he had decided to bin. Funnily enough it uses the same organ melody that later appeared in Yet To Come.

@@JohnReavesLive I think they are each perfectionists, living and working with other perfectionists. They are constantly saying ‘it could be better’! I think Yoongi is the most practical - he has, of them all, the most ‘suck it and see’ mentality I think.

This is one of my favorites, it touched my heart even before I got the chance to read the lyrics! the emotions really come through on every line.

I'm not sure why, but I'd never watched the interview between SUGA and V before - amazing! So many interesting thoughts that are relevant to all writing, not just song writing. I so enjoy all the BTS behind the scenes/interviews on their creative processes: fascinating! Don't worry, I was "nerding out" with you!

Loved that you watched the interview! This is a song I hold dear and does get make me feel seen when I’m sad about the mess of the world the last few years. That deep empathy and really authentic feelings is one thing I especially appreciate about the guys. The lives of this just make me love how delicately they treat it. Beautiful song and a real testament to Vs song writing abilities. That boy has been working on his mix tape for years and keeps taunting us with snippets of the tracks he’s deleting… by previewing them a bit then deleting all the files. I still can’t wait for the other 6 mixtapes a full course musical meal.

Not only Jazz, but I could see V singing Big Band songs (think Andrew Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby)

In the live performance, Blue and Grey was the perfect lead in to Black Swan. The songs may be different, but they compliment each other so well. Not like two sides of the same coin, but more like they move through the world hand in hand. To be honest, Blue and Grey feels like Tae (it has his energy and flow; his essence in a song). Whereas Black Swan is Jimin (his grace, energy, and his essence distilled into music and motion). I wish Tae could see what we do in the beauty of song writing. His mixtape, which will now be a full album, has been in the works for so long. But he never seems quite satisfied. At this stage it's hard to tell if he's just being too hard on himself and his music - too much of a perfectionist - or if it is just missing that one song , or one voice, that will bring it all together. Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to the finished result. In fact, it's Tae's album I'm looking forward to the most. And Yoongi's. And Jimin's. Oh, and Jin's will be beautiful. And Namjoon, when he sings he has such a melodic voice; and dynamic rap. And of course Jungkook is just amazing.💜 I would not be surprised if there was a strong jazz/blues vibe in Tae's solo album. Especially given the type of music in his playlists (as seen on his VLives, etc.). He has a strong jazz vibe in what he listens to; from more modern styles, to the classics like Etta James. I love his taste in music.💜 Which reminds me, have you seen the VLog he did? Such a relaxed drive, great music, good food... And the Dentist. And Jimin's VLog is great too.💜 Sorry I went on so long. Sometimes my thoughts take over, and I don't know how to stop them. Or even if I should. Thank you for your wonderful reactions, they are so thoughtful and in-depth. And like you, I loved the interview with Yoongi and Tae. I love the way their minds work; and they are the two I relate to the most. Probably because I am like a mix of equal parts Yoongi and Tae; with a large dollop of Namjoon; and a decent sprinkling of Jimin. Which sounds weird I know... But you get what I mean. And his solo within it - that high note! It was so beautiful... and didn't hurt to listen to. On was the first BTS song I heard, and it was all it took.💜

Suggestions for songs? I would recommend "Home" and "Louder Than Bombs". For live performances, I would recommend "Festa 2020 BTS Room Live" and "ARMYpedia". Blue & Grey, probably one of the most beautiful and saddest song I have ever heard. First couple of times I listened to it, I cried. I mean get down and bawled my eyes out ugly cry it hit me so hard. Been there, to many times to count. I can listen to it now though without the ugly cry, still can bring tears to my eyes but for the sheer beauty of the song and lyrics. Now the real treat was Black Swan...seeing it performed live was so awesome. I have one question for you John, can you feel the energy they give off through the screen? Love your reactions. Blue and Grey is very close to my heart. The first line grabbed me and took me on an introspective journey. I battle anxiety daily and the pandemic added a lot of stress and uncertainty on top. I felt this song reflected exactly how I felt then. Life Goes On is the uplifting song that I needed but Blue and Grey is the one that lets me know I am not alone. The interview conversation of Suga and V was very eye opening. Seeing V on stage you think he has all the confidence in the world, but his honesty about the pressure and how limited he feels shows different. Suga is a great mentor and a supportive brother. Tae admires the rap line and respects them so much as talented lyricists and producers. I'm looking forward to V's mixtape a lot too.

I was very pleased to see you react to the interview between SUGA and V. Your take on it from the standpoint of a singer songwriter was interesting. I hope that V will take SUGA’s advice to heart. He reiterated that advice at the FESTA 2022 dinner so hopefully we’ll see V finish what will now be his first solo album rather than a mixtape to launch his solo career. The concert version of Blue and Grey was so beautifully staged from their outfits to the set. They all perform beautifully but for me Jin stands out with the perfect tone for this touching song. I remember the moment Blue and Grey began in LA. I lyrically relate so well to V’s feeling and sentiment in this song. I felt all the emotion coming from them while performing it. Then, Black Swan choreography blew me away. It was so freaking amazing! It was my first time seeing them live after wanting to for 5 years. I started crying from just how breathtaking this set was. I was so absolutely moved by it all. I was fortunate to see it 3 more times between LA and Vegas. Memories I will always cherish. I appreciate so much the amount of effort and love and passion these 7 men put into their producing, lyricism, and performances. It’s wonderful to see how much you completely get it! Thank you.

Thank you so much for this reaction. I love this song and how each member shines in it. I especially love the harmony between Jin and JK followed by Jimin and V - real close your eyes in bliss stuff. In the first season of their series "In the Soop" there is a scene where V took their boat to the middle of the river to have some alone time. He then said he was writing a song in English and using a translation app for the words. He plays the song on his phone and as the camera recedes above him the "Where's my angel" line plays. Him on the boat, the river with the tree-lined banks and the music playing. Gorgeous! And we get Black Swan as a bonus! Bless you. And thank you for your comments about Suga - he is always direct and profound when he speaks; so caring for his younger members even though he appears inscrutable most of the time. Jimin once said to him that he is practically their dad.

What gets me every time is when you hear the strings of the guitar plucked. The first time I heard this song, I startede to cry not knowing why. The lyrics says it all. One of my favorits

V, he might not have released his proper full mixtape just like the other members but the songs that he produced and released mostly is for Kdrama and they are very successful songs. V might be pressured but not with other members probably with himself he needs to beat his own record.

Taehyung wrote this song in English first, there is a version from their series In The Soop where he teased it. Jose Ochoa posted a cleaned up version of it kzread.info/dash/bejne/X62b18eil5aroJM.html Background to this song: Tae said that he had written it because of the pandemic, but since mid to late 2019 there were situations where you could feel he was not alright, he stumbled on the red carpet, he looked like an automaton, he also was very withdrawn. The English version hits different and I think it hits deeper. As for his mixtape, he has said recently that he has deleted all those songs - even the songs he teased us about on his twitter and IG.

Those COVID era songs hit hard 🥹 When Blue & Grey ( and BE) came out my little brother had just died the week before and it was MONTHS before I could listen to that song without bawling so I just didn’t listen to it very much….then they did it on MTV Unplugged and I had to go through it again 😂🥺 It’s just so sad, but also comforting 🥹💜 And then I cried again when they did it at the PTD shows 😂

I'm kind of scared of V's delete button. I'm happy that Suga advised him to keep all the files, as it's so true that the time will come when they feel right to be rearranged and released. 💜 I still vividly remember when a fan asked about a song we got a snippet of - unofficial title "Travel With Me" - and Taehyung replied he doesn't have the original file anymore, as he deleted it as soon as he posted that snippet. 😭😭 I can't get over that song. The interview, they have one for each member, they interview each other. About V mixtape.. He talks about it since,maybe more than two years:)) he keeps working on it. Blue and gray was written for the mixtape, but since he keeps changing the track list and this song was fitting on their Be album.. They made it a Bts song. We don't know how was exactly with just V as, at least I think that the rap verses were written independently, as usually.. About songwriting.. I really want you to check out Stay Alive (for 7 fates Chakho, BTS webtoon, sung byJK. Make sure listen to the longer version with a web mv) and Over the Horizon ( Samsung cell phone ring tone). Both Suga produced. You will find out what Suga can do.

I like that you noted JK's precision as a good thing... A lot of people assume they're doing a lot of real-time processing to make him sound like the album tracks 😂 I stopped listening to someone the other day when they were certain he was heavily autotuned because he was holding a very clear straight note 😂 Anyway it's a tiny detail, but it's nice to see his vocal control being appreciated 😁

This topic is very important, written by V and produced by EL REY SUGA, the two members of the group who suffer from depression, it is very nice because they continue to open the paths to teach what mental illnesses are and create bridges so that they are seen naturally and mental health doctors, speak it more freely without stigmas.

That performance of both Blue and Grey and then transitioning into Black Swan was just so gorgeously done from start to finish. You could feel the emotions so profoundly. And the two songs have the same tone to them - introspective and deep. 🔥💜

There will never be another BTS no matter how hard the other agencies try. Thank you for sharing this reaction. I enjoyed you nerding out on the interview between Suga and V. The depth of artistic creativity in Bangtan assures us that there can never be a replacement for the boys. I just love BTS.

Suga and RM always tease Tae about his mixtape. It's been 3 years. Even Jimin said he just started his album and he's be finished before Tae. I believe him.

V said in his vlog that he's done and he's thinking about the MVs now . He's a moody person so I'm not waiting him to release it yet . But I think he'll be the first vocal line member to release it and maybe Jk too . As for Jimin he's making one song with Suga rn

@@user-qd5gr8ql2w as long as it's been... I only believe he'll release it before Jin and not anybody else. Moody isn't the problem. He siked himself out. He should have listened to Yoongi 2 years ago, twice Yoongi gave excellent advice to the vocal line and they ignore him.
