I'm Pete and I play music! Having fun with metal guitar doing everything from modern metal, extended range 7 strings and 8 strings to thrash metal on a good old 6 string. Riffs in the styles of other bands, shredding and lots of fun with metal music!

Your drums sounds always great. What drums you use?
After I tore my rotator cuff, I can’t play my baritone 8 string due to the range of movement required. This could be something I could eventually transition to. Thanks for sharing this instrument Pete.

Happy to help. This would definitely struggle to get down to the range of an 8 string but you could however pitch shifting digitally using a Drop Pedal or plug-in :)
Can't even imagine how tight those bass strings were to play.

These are actually 7 gauge strings so it wasn't too bad. I was surprised that I could bend notes honestly :)
That guitar with a hot rails pickup might sound kinda rad for leads (short scales are unexpectedly good for it soundwise, especially in the hard rock realm), not gonna lie
Sounds ridiculously awesome! METAL is about your attitude, your outlook on life, and your ability to communicate that attitude and outlook.
I would imagine it would still be good for melodic metal styles, like power metal and melodeath. And I could see a shredder getting good use out of the shortened fretboard.
Love that hint of "Thunderhorse" haha JAM ON, BRO!! \m/ >.< \m/

Bad ass as always! Thanks, Pete! Keep being awesome and showing us these things we didn't know we needed the information of in music! \m/
Haha this is insane! The riff is awesome Pete, you should made a full track/song!
Smash the thrash on that tiny thing pete, epic, didn't expect anything less from you bro 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
Ok but now I dare you to write a song using this tiny guitar _and_ a baritone guitar (in the A tuning ofc) instead of the bass! This could open some wild possibilities.
New genre: Tiny Metal
Were you listening to thunder horse before you wrote this?

@@peteplaysmusicyes the melodeath part sounds kinda like it
This might work really well as a nother layer over a drop A baritone and drop A bass. Could fill out the higher range that modern metal has mostly just abandoned except to make alien noises
And of course, if you want to play this minitar in normal or lower pitches, higher gauge strings or a whammy pedal could help with that.

I didn't mention it but I actually had to use 7 gauge strings for this and it's tuned up to A Standard!
I wonder how drop tuning sounds like at stock configs
You could actually play a stranger I remain from metal gear rising, since the song is in drop D# (or drop d with capo on 1st fret)
sick jam!
Haha, I considered doing a video like this about this exact guitar in 2020 but instead ended up just posting a meme on Reddit about it being a yakuza guitar because the description read "not everyone has long fingers (and we're not implying something criminal here)", which I'm still convinced has to be what it actually implies unless I'm missing something obvious. So, seeing this video was nice. Kinda surprising how well it actually works, at least for this type of metal. For doom metal or deathcore, I'm not sure if putting thicker strings and downtuning such a tiny guitar would work, but some people think regular scale length and downtuning to A standard with 13 gauge strings wouldn't work either. I guess there's still a difference between doing that and doing even drop B or whatever with this guitar, so dunno, but it would be interesting to hear... assuming the neck wouldn't just snap.
Great video as usual ! Next step of metal is to tune up and then drop an octave with pitch shifter ;-)
Inverted power chords would sound do good on this.
Short scale guitars are great for people with smaller hands. You just need to put a heavier gauge of strings on them to compensate for the scale.

You do run into intonation issues, however yes it can absolutely work :)
It could be such a piece for power metal machine
I've actually looked into this guitar, as a gift for my nephew. Also, I wanna buy their shortscale p bass for myself

I can only speak to my experience but this was actually very good right out of the box. No sharp fret ends and it stayed mostly in tune :)
3:22 there should be a banana for scale, lol
The song's an actual banger!
Finally a guitar for my tiny hands!
Weirdly I can actually see uses for that having heard it. The higher octave adds something very different harmonically for the lead parts. If you blended it with some normal scale guitars the results could be pretty cool
What tuning was that? Pretty cool stuff though!
You played metal on the smallest guitar in the world and it sounds totally awesome lol
That's SO awesome 👌

What if you put kallium, baritone, 13 or 14 gauge strings in case I want to go lower (lets say E standard, like bartone on 5th fret) with this tiny travel guitar? Wonder, if intonation wouldn't be a problem?
@peteplaysmusic
9 ай бұрын
I think it definitely would be a problem. I used 7 gauge strings for this which were perfect but thicker strings and lower tunings would definitely cause issues :)

So bad ass~
Why is the saddle for the D string so much more forwards than the other ones?

That's just where it needed to be to intonate for some reason :)
What is the name of the song you played in this video
I've often thought of a guitar like this to harmonise with myself without having to know where the notes should be.

It also makes you look bigger ;)

That is Not the Smallest. I have seen them 1/4 or more Smaller and was even going to buy one once but did not have the $$$ to. I hid it or tried to, came back the next day and it was gone.. Now, were they Custom made??? I do not know.
