After I tore my rotator cuff, I can’t play my baritone 8 string due to the range of movement required. This could be something I could eventually transition to. Thanks for sharing this instrument Pete.

Happy to help. This would definitely struggle to get down to the range of an 8 string but you could however pitch shifting digitally using a Drop Pedal or plug-in :)

That guitar with a hot rails pickup might sound kinda rad for leads (short scales are unexpectedly good for it soundwise, especially in the hard rock realm), not gonna lie

I would imagine it would still be good for melodic metal styles, like power metal and melodeath. And I could see a shredder getting good use out of the shortened fretboard.

This might work really well as a nother layer over a drop A baritone and drop A bass. Could fill out the higher range that modern metal has mostly just abandoned except to make alien noises

And of course, if you want to play this minitar in normal or lower pitches, higher gauge strings or a whammy pedal could help with that.

Haha, I considered doing a video like this about this exact guitar in 2020 but instead ended up just posting a meme on Reddit about it being a yakuza guitar because the description read "not everyone has long fingers (and we're not implying something criminal here)", which I'm still convinced has to be what it actually implies unless I'm missing something obvious. So, seeing this video was nice. Kinda surprising how well it actually works, at least for this type of metal. For doom metal or deathcore, I'm not sure if putting thicker strings and downtuning such a tiny guitar would work, but some people think regular scale length and downtuning to A standard with 13 gauge strings wouldn't work either. I guess there's still a difference between doing that and doing even drop B or whatever with this guitar, so dunno, but it would be interesting to hear... assuming the neck wouldn't just snap.

Short scale guitars are great for people with smaller hands. You just need to put a heavier gauge of strings on them to compensate for the scale.

What if you put kallium, baritone, 13 or 14 gauge strings in case I want to go lower (lets say E standard, like bartone on 5th fret) with this tiny travel guitar? Wonder, if intonation wouldn't be a problem?
