If these videos have taught me anything, it's that I need to learn to weld.

I can't tell the make and model from the video but I have taught myself mig welding by watching youtube vids and buying the cheapest mig I can find on ebay. I got hold of some scrap steel and just went at it. After a short time you realise the short comings of a super cheap machine and upgrade accordingly.

DO IT! just buy a cheap welder stick or mig and just have at it. It is not that hard (as long as you are not expecting pretty) and super fun
Great work as always! It swallows metal like butter! Can't wait to watch a few extreme casting projects from you in future!

I don't know why but these type of videos makes ASMR effect on me. Great job. Thanks for sharing though.
well done very nice build. what size crucible is that it looks like a 35A clay/graphite but im not sure, i want to switch from using a fire extinguisher in my crucible. also if anyone decides to build this i would recommend just using an old oil drum it will save you alot of time thats what mine is made of.
I've seen dozens of videos of how to make metal-melting furnaces, but you went professional, great job guys.
Best furnace build video ever! The work, the music, EVERYTHING! Subscribed!

The world needs you...basics,,,liberty for all. Build awesome small wood stoves. High temp efficient burn. They have many some nice ones overseas but not in USA.
You're a freaking artist. Beautiful.
The fabrication skills and techniques on this build are impressive. Building up the platform inside with the insulation underneath so it isn't compressed is a sharp idea, as is using the lower temp fiberglass around the edges.
You should make a popcorn cannon, it would be crazy.

Wow.. This guy is a fucking badass!!!!
Like your work, but want to make 2 safety suggestions. First, wear much safer clothing, shoes, face protection, etc., the aluminum (guessing?) is melting at about 1200 degrees F. Second, melt on sand base, not cement. If there is a spill any moisture in the cement will be drawn out and sort of explode throwing hot stuff everywhere. I want you to be around to be able to continue making great videos!
Fascinating again! Great project and video!
@MakeitExtreme

Very impressive furnace - I just pour the refractory cement on mine tonight - funny timing - I used ceramic blanket as well but I was told you need to protect it otherwise it will deteriorate quickly - see the burning on the feeding tube when you place 2 or 3 pcs of aluminum. Anyway great build as usual - great editing and music choice, a joy to watch !
Why didn't you use the homemade pipe bender ??

@TheSylvain971

it does because the furnace is the 40th and the metal bender is the 36th
@cluebin8398

Probably because the commercial bender they are using employs dies and rollers to help keep the tube from bending out of plane, whereas their DIY bender did not.
What were those insulating materials?
@timhenderson2150

Probably stone wool.

Awesome work, brethren! I recently made a smaller one with a 15 gal oil drum, but I used perlite/plaster refractory mixture, and it's taking forever to dry the moisture out, so no thorough testing yet...
