+D1dav1d Not really, he just poorly fills in the plot hole of how Big Boss lived from MG1. MGSV doesnt really matter. Ocelot continues to not make sense and Big Boss is an A-hole, the end. (Everything we knew before we started the game.)

You don't really have time for jokes in a 3 min explanation of an enormous and super complicated story like Metal Gear.

+Incredibly Scotish Penguin **SPOILERS!** Ocelot: After the loss of his hand to Grey Fox, (possibly yet to be president) George Sears (Solidus) who was "underground" at the time of shadow moses was apparently the man who paid for the Arm transplant, using the now dead Liquid Snakes arm, rather than just the hand it was grafted from the shoulder apparently this was inbetween mgs1 and 2 and also was done in france. Ocelot even goes as far as saying "never trust a frenchman" Now this is where with detail it does go "Classic Kojima" Ocelot at some point when he got this graft started under going hypnotherapy and nanotechnology implants to replicate Liquids personality just as the medic from ground zeros did with big boss to create Venom Snake. Right.. so far so good... I believe the end game of Ocelots plan with Big Boss was to use Liquids Signature to disrupt the patriots AI and schemes and what not. With all this in mind, the events of mgs5 lend credit to it all. with the doppelganger effects played throughout. Big boss had this happen in afghanistan and then again a few decade later to a greater effect. There it is in a nutshell. all of this is from memory and not fully verified but it correct to my knowledge. I may have missed a bit.. theres a lot to remember all in all. anyway hope that helps

Liquid didn't possess Ocelot "because weird lol Kojima cray cray". Ocelot underwent hypnosis and psychotherapy as well as being given drugs and *nanomachines* (son) so he could take on the personality of Liquid to trick the patriots into lowering their guard against what they assumed was Liquid Snake. I mean, it's not exactly like they're fucking subtle with it, they spend about 10 minutes on that very subject at the end of MGS4 so morons will understand it, then this video comes along where apparently a moron still doesn't understand it. It's a pretty important part of the plot, and this video is supposed to explain the plot.

MGS story is so deep and complex, you can't just summarize it that easily in 3 minutes.

***** no, NAKED SNAKE (BIG BOSS) kills THE BOSS and becomes BIG BOSS. before he killed the boss he was called naked snake. SOLID SNAKE is a clone of BIG BOSS, they are 2 different people, solid snake isn't the kind of clone your thinking though hes more of a son but he wasn't born from impregnation he was born from a surrogate mother (big mama). Its a common misconception that solid snake became big boss but its not true i don't blame you for making it. If you disagree look it up i know i'm correct.

I know this videos silly and not meant to be taken seriously but Volgin wasn't really responsible for commissioning the Shagohod. Sokolov started it under Khrushchev's orders... Then Volgin's guys stole it, captured Sokolov and carried out test runs. Volgin only had the thing for about a week or so before Snake (Big Boss) destroyed it. Good attempt though; it's easy to forget certain things in the series. :)

You skipped over quite a bit, there was more that could've been explained in those three minutes and yet you didn't. Whilst a good bit of this is accurate, it's a bit poorly delivered.

0:25 Khrushchev, not Gorbachev. Gorbachev was Reagan's "Tear down this wall" buddy.

Naked Snake, a U.S. soldier, finds out that government ties corrupt after his mentor betrays him. After killing her he creates his own PMC and takes on the title of Big Boss. He gets cloned a few times without knowing. One of his clones, Solid Snake, kills him. Solid later finds out that he hadn't killed big boss, but instead another clone. He then ages rapidly due to a failsafe gene he was constructed with. Big Boss and Solid Snake meet up in a graveyard both as old men and die soon after. Oh yeah, also there's a big robot with a nuke strapped to it once per game. *NAILED IT*

Not necessarily, a lot of animes are really incoherent. That said, with the story already out there like it is an animated version should by all rights be coherent. Whether that would happen or not is another story, though.

No. If they wanted to retell MGS, they'd have to make remakes of the games, not adapt it to animation. Retelling video game stories as animation/live action in detail never works, because the viewers would be divided by people who don't know the source material and people who know the source material and think either "This is an insult to the game" or "This is boring, I could just be playing it. That said, anime sucks.

Ocelot wasn't possessed by liquids arm, he hypnotized himself into thinking he was as a part of an elaborate plan to recover Big Boss.

Liquid's arm didn't "possess" Ocelot, he underwent psychotherapy and whatnot to become like liquid for... reasons. Big Momma/Eva explains that in the european chapter.

This is a gross oversimplification of the series that misses out so many VITAL plot info.

I like the attempt, but Metal gear takes so many left turns when you expect it to take a right, and after so many lefts you expect it, then they toss in a right, so you try to pay closer attention, trying to anticipate the next turn and then there is a 180, then another 180, and a 360... and I know what you are thinking "a 360? that does not make sense"... to which I reply... "I know."

... AND THEN THAT GUY FROM MGS2 TURNS OUT TO BE A ROBOT NINJA AND HE SAVES THE WORLD

Portable Ops is canon. A few details don't fit in that well, but the stuff that happened with Gene and the Fox unit are canon. Gray Fox's backstory was retconned to fit in with the game too.

Darian Davis No...Kojima didn't specify which parts of it are "cannon" or "isnt"...basically he was being diplomatic while giving himself he chance to re-write things in the future, how things happened in the timeline and in what order is up to him, Portable Ops isn't a part of his plan.

I don't think the video was that bad, he crammed in the most important parts of each game into 3 minutes which is really hard to do, theres like 10,000 twists in each game so ommitting details is completely necessary, I think he captures the story essence of each game really well.

0:49 This might be a possible reference to The Orange Box (aka the box that holds tf2, half life 2 and portal 2 for xbox)
