Lyrics
I'm really close tonight
And I feel like I'm moving inside her
Lying in the dark
And I think that I'm beginning to know her
Let it go
I'll be there when you call
And whenever I fall at your feet
You let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch, your slow turnin' pain
You're hidin' from me now
There's somethin' in the way that you're talkin'
The words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Know
I'll be waiting when you call
Hey, whenever I fall at your feet
Won't you let your tears rain down on me?
Whenever I touch, your slow turnin' pain
The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help?
Who knows where that might lead
I fall
Whenever I fall at your feet
Won't you let your tears rain down on me?
Whenever I fall (at your feet)
Whenever I fall
hey guys, i watched your crowded house reaction from 11-mths back - very cool btw. had to laugh when you said that the submission reiterated "australian band," loved it. the lead singer and his brother who both sing the vocals and write the lyrics are both kiwis (new zealand), formerly of the band split enz - but there are 2 talented australians in the band as well. we kiwis love to claim our own when we can from the big country across the ditch (it is what it is). anyways here's another crowded house masterclass. cheers, matt ps travis, you asked in the last video why they broke up - it was because neill finn (lead vocals) decided time was up, and when you lose a vocalist/songwriter of his class, the time is up!!

Whether for reacting or not, this is a band to "go deep" on - they're so, so good.
A devoted Crowded House fan here! Neil Finn, Paul Hester, Nick Seymour and Mark Hart. The stars aligned when these 4 got together!
Crowded House is the music us Aussies played on a hot summer night, sitting around a BBQ with friends, drinking ice cold beer with our princess sitting on our lap and soaking up the beauty that is Australia...a truly special band, RIP Paul. X
It’s Aussie (like Ozzie)… the kiwi is a flightless bird unique to New Zealand and one of their national emblems. The fruit that you call a kiwi has that name because it was first commercialised in New Zealand, we call it a “kiwi fruit” not to be confused with the bird (which we don’t eat) or the people (which we might eat if they’re cute) 😂

When Paul died they not only lost a great drummer and an amazing personality, they also lost his harmonies, which were integral to the band's sound.

RIP Paul Hester. The lyrics, the harmonies just brilliant. Crowded House were 50:50 - half Aussie (Seymour + Hester), half Kiwi (Finn and Finn).
My life is better for having had this music in it !!!
Neil Finn is one of the few people in the world who can write McCartney-level melodic compositions.

The two Finn brothers are both musical geniuses. They are loved in both NZ and Australia. We grew up with so much great music from across the ditch who migrated across to Oz to share their talents with a larger audience. Great bands like The La De Da's, Dragon, Mi-sex, Mother Goose, Split Enz to just name a few. These bands were loved on both sides of the ditch. Go the Kiwis.

RIP Paul Hester... my crush, great muso, comedian, beautiful soul.

Please keep the crowded house up🙌🙌Something so strong, weather with you, better be home soon please
That's the full CH line up there. Neil, Tim, Paul, Nick and in the background Mark on keyboards.
Saw them in Berlin this year. And … boy, some things improve with age. 😀
I saw Crowded House last Friday at Stage 88 in Canberra. They were excellent.
What an amazing live vocal and extra points for the harmonizes...it helps that the Finn brothers have been singing together all of their lives
Definitely Ozzie. Kiwi's are actually flightless birds endemic to NZ. Love you guys.
I love this band. Have since the 80s.
Neil Finn - lead vocal; Tim Finn - the higher backing vocal and acoustic guitar. Both from New Zealand, both previously in the band Split Enz, check that out!
Neil Finn is one of my favourite songwriters, so I am glad that you two are enjoying so many of his songs. One little request, though, for when you next react to Neil or one of his bands: Do you HAVE to be so stoned, out of your gourds?
This was the wedding song for probably half of NZ and Australia, Kiwis and Aussies are chilled people so a lot of our music is like that but there are so many other bands also great from metal and hard rock through alternative and pop to name a few genres. My generation grew up with this band, their songs were played everywhere and hearing them again takes me back to those endless summers of youth.
Neil Finn (the lead singer) and his brother Tim Finn (in the green shirt) are both Kiwi icons who were formerly in another iconic Kiwi band Split Enz. Tim was only in the band for a short time and it's most remembered as a Trio. Although Neil and Tim Finn are Kiwi's (it's what we call ourselves and no we don't eat them, they are endangered) crowded house is generally considered an Australian band as the were formed and based out of Melbourne (that and Paul and Nick are Aussies). The drummer Paul Hester also drummed in Split Enz for a period. Kiwi's and Aussies have a friendly habit of claiming each others celebrities and bands but the plain and simple truth of it was that although New Zealand produced a lot of fantastic bands in the 70s and 80s they often had to travel to Australia to make a living as musicians.

I looked at who invented pavlova on Wikipedia, it was confusing as they said both invented it!! And yes, the Finn brothers are indeed Kiwis. It must be time for a bit of love for early Split Enz or even some solo Tim. I think his song Made My Day is an extremely uplifting song.

Where a band formed is irrelevant. If Swedes formed a band in London it doesn't make them an English band, if a group of English musicians formed a band in the US, even if they moved there years before, if even got big there first, they are still English!!! At best you could call Crowded House a NZ/Aus Band because of the members nationalities, but they just aren't an Australian band. If you took Neil and Tim out of the band from the start they'd never have made it big internationally, and that's not a criticism of the other Australian band members, they just wouldn't have, the driving force and songwriting came from the Kiwi members of the band, it's as simple as that. Australia still goals NZ as a province of it in its constitution, I think that says it all!!!

That’s Neil fins brother (Tim Finn) singing the harmonies 👍
Have you heard Slice of Heaven by Dave Dobbyn? A great chill Kiwi song used as theme for Dogs Tale movie from Footrot Flats comics.
Try their song, "It's only natural" for a really laid back and friendly vibe. Thanks for another great reaction guys 👍
Late Great Johnny Carson! He had some iconic people during his 30 years career especially with Robin Williams is on his show
As an Aussie, Kiwi music is the perfect phrase, and it is beautiful. :D
Bloody Carson.....'Woodhouse'! Bloody hell....it was Woodface! This was the one Crowded House album that featured both Finn brothers with the addition of Tim. Their harmonies are brilliant and this is a stand out album.
Love this one soon much.🙏
wow this goes back to the 87' and CH are accompanied with Tim Finn oh this Johnny Carson Show. Great React guys - Luv ur work.
Yes Guys it Ozzie from Oz. Tell Matt it's an Australian Band Split Enz was formed by Tim and Neil Finn in Auckland New Zealand. Crowd House was formed by Neil Finn and Paul Hester in Melbourne Australia. 😉
Been lucky enough to see them live 4 times
Also love your channel by the way, you guys do a lot of the great Kiwi and Australian music I grew up on. This seems to be lost on a lot of other reactors.
The Finn Brothers are New Zealander and Nick Seymour and Paul Hester are/was Australian-Melbournian-St.Kildian.
Saw these guys 2 weeks ago in Melbourne. Brilliant.
Sir Paul mcartney called Neill Finn the greatest song writer and vocalist he has ever heard. Agreed
“some kiwis get eaten” made me laugh out loud - and I’m sure someone else has said it but it’s Ozzie
Hi guys, you seem to have that Friday feeling! 👍 Could it be because Suzy is looking pretty in pink?! To answer one of your many questions today, Australians call themselves Aussies, pronounced Ozzies. I LOVE Crowded House and I LOVE Neil Finn's soulful voice, I think it really draws you in to their songs. Try listening to Private Universe - it's beautiful, haunting, mysterious and atmospheric as well as having an unusual video. Love from England 🙂
It's OZZIE mate!!
Awesome feedback
Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️
Kiwi music is definitely a thing, There are numerous kiwi artists that are extremely popular in New Zealand (and sometimes australia) but never made it internationally, but you go to any of the sports stadiums in New Zealand and generally the music they play is old kiwi classics, check out Dave Dobbyn or the exponents or hello sailor...and many others
I grew up in a little NZ town called Te Awamutu. The same town the Finn brother's are from. My mother also went to school with Tim. The song (Mean to me) actually starts with the name Te Awamutu in the first few lines. Could you please check out a song called (Four Seasons in one day)

Love it that brother Tim Finn (I see red)appears in this clip. Split Endz revisited
Years ago the Chinese gooseberry was marketed in Australia as Kiwi Fruit.
Really crushed on him back then.
Yes there’s multiple colours of Kiwi fruit, green (original), golden and red. In my humble opinion a nicely ripe golden Kiwi fruit is one of the nicest fruits you can eat. Looking back at the origins of the fruit it actually came from China and was known as a Chinese gooseberry before some in a marketing department here in New Zealand got their hands on it…
Bros at work.
The guy in green is Neil Finn's older Brother Tim who co founded and led Split Enz for years. Neil joined Split Enz in 1977 and led the band during the 80s until about 84 after Tim left to pursue a solo career.

A Kiwi fruit is actually a Chinese Gooseberry. They are native to China, but grown commercially in New Zealand.

the kiwi fruit does not look like a chinese gooseberry at all it is a totally different fruit now - it was modified from that into a kiwi fruit and is grown in nz and you can get green ones as well as gold ones all from nz not china

We pronounce Aussie exactly as you pronounce ozzy for ozzy osborne . You should set up a po box so we can send you Aussie snacks and we can laugh at you trying vegemite lol . Any questions about Australia ask away
If you have a lady friend from New Zealand and you like eating kiwi fruit...match made in heaven.
Z for ozzie = aussie etc. Kiwi music is a very big thing, it's genetic in the Maori people who settled the place, long ago. Try Englebert Humperdink and Kiri te Anawa. Smooth music is in them from birth, with their beautiful voices and war songs in Maori, they learn them as kids, frighten footy crowds still. Yes, most of the kiwi fruit is edible, green is tho most known in aus, but yellow works too, we have been getting kiwi berries too, bite size, green, smooth skin, turning up in the shops. There is a hard stalk bit, and a fuszzy bit on the opposite end you can take off, then wash it and eat the rest. They are very lovely sliced with a ring of small seeds showing, on desserts like a pavlova. That is not pavalova, there is no a in the middle.
Spelled Aussie but definitely pronounced Ozzy - Ozzies, just for the record guys lol. You will also hear Aus pronounced as Oz as well
Its OZ-EE.. NOT AUS-SEE.. Nick and Tim Finn, Nick Seymour and Paul Heston (the drummer who sadly passed away). Some of the most beautiful male vocals ever.. Kiwi Music has a certain "something", a little more left of centrre than Aussie Pub Rock.. But a very inter-related scene too..
Ozzy! We called and spelled our country Oz until the internet existed and everyone overseas got really confused because Oz was the Wizard of Oz to them, not the country of Australia. Aus -> Oz.
The BIG question is "how far can a Kiwi (key wee)?" Answer? "Pretty far!"
👍
Is that Neil's brother in the green shirt. It looks like Tim Finn.
That man in the green jacket is his brother.
“Ozzy” is how it’s pronounced in both Australia and NZ. The Kiwi is NZ’s National bird, is Protected, And I have never heard of Anyone eating one.

Neil and Tim are brothers and as you know are Kiwi, both are talented writers, composers, musicians, and vocalists. Neil did the majority of lead vocals for the group Tim had a successful solo career in his own right he is the guy in green playing acoustic with the high vocals Neil and Tim Finn Go Kiwis oh and yes Kiwi music is a thing I hope in the future you delve into more Kiwi, we have a Polynesian reggae sound unique to NZ and there are many pacific island reggae bands as well 🇵🇳

You want feel good Kiwi Music? Mutton Birds playing Dominion Rd. Great film clip and the words are bitter sweet. Also I can't see where any of your crew have reacted to another NZ precious gem, Margaret Urlich who sadly died way too young. Boy In The Moon is a good start.
Kiwi music is definitely a thing. Kiwi is our national bird - protected, not eaten. Ozzy not Aussie. Crowded House part Aussie, part Kiwi, but formed in Australia and mainly based there, so contentious point…

Yes, you've been saying it wrong..... lol. Sorry
Being a kiwi means your from New Zealand not Australia
If you pronounce aussie with a hard S sound you're pretty much giving yourself away as an American. Natives come from Oz and pronounce it that way.
It’s definitely Ozzie. We cringe when you all say Ossie.
Aussie ....you are saying it wrong

Aussie is pronounced OZZie. Kiwi music is appropriate. Kiwis are both a fruit and a bird.
