    Paul did a Facebook live chat where he was asked about this to which he said it was false. This is excerpt from the article I found: McCartney also confirmed in the over-30 minute chat that the long-running rumour he once referred to Crowded House frontman, Neil Finn, as the world's greatest songwriter is false. After being teased by Minchin that he doesn't even like Finn's music, McCartney joked back, "I didn't say that. I don't, but I didn't say that… I love his songs actually."

    Crowded House’s “Fall at Your Feet” focuses on the writer’s desire to have a deeper and more intimate relationship with a particular woman. As it appears in the lyrics, this woman may be going through some kind of pain, which is why the writer keeps reassuring her of his presence and willingness to help her get through it. Peace out.

Especially if you get the one with the bonus disc, which has live versions of a whole bunch of album tracks. Crowded House were always best live. The chemistry and banter between the guys on stage was so genuine and hilarious, especially when Paul Hester in the band. Hessie was a wonderful human being; so funny and loved by everyone who knew him. But he had demons of depression, and they overcame him one day and he took his own life.

  • @starshake8998

    @starshake8998

    2 жыл бұрын

    Agreed. He's also the only famous person I've ever made physical contact with. (He zanily high-fived everyone in the front two rows on our side of the stage when my besties and I saw them in concert in 1987. We were 15.) I was so crushed two decades later when I found out he was gone, because I didn't hear the news right away and had spent an entire year after the fact looking forward to introducing my jazz drummer boyfriend to his playing the next time the band came through on a tour. It's weird feeling that someone is very much alive and being happy about it for so long -- imagining more experiences of / life with them in it -- when in reality, their life has long-since come to a tragic end. I honestly had no idea he struggled with depression until that moment. It's always the clowns who fool us. 💔😥

    Crowded House is touring the states in the next couple months! I have seen them multiple times live; my absolute favorite band! They put on the most amazing show. They get the audience involved, there are sing-alongs, people usually throw balled up paper on stage with song request. It’s totally interactive and it’s amazing and such a great time! Hey TSR - really enjoy your reactions, good stuff. If you like harmonies and well crafted songs - check out a group called the Jayhawks...thoughtful songs, great harmonies, catchy. Like Crowded House, only from Minneapolis. Try "Everybody Knows", "Save it for a Rainy Day", "Quiet Corners", "Blue" to start.

    Simply red were massive in the UK in the 90s. I was never a huge fan but I can see where your coming from. As for crowded house, once again awesome song. You can’t really go wrong with them to be honest. Not too sure about the new album though, haven’t really heard it or gave it a chance yet.

    Crowded House were and still are FANTASTIC live and at any point during a concert you'd feel like they'd all of a sudden decided to change everything up and do something completely different. Not just songs mind you, but they'd stop and have a paper plane contest or a bit of banter with the audience - especially involving the original drummer, Paul Hester (RIP) who was extremely charismatic. They were also big on audience participation - a classic example being with Fall At Your Feet at a concert in Amsterdam 2010. There's a great version of KZread that you should watch (just in your own time, not necessarily as a reaction) that goes for about 9 minutes, with a bit of banter between the band at the start, then they sing the song and after it finishes they then teach the harmony parts to the audience and get them to all sing. To they ANY audience to do this can be a challenge, yet alone a Dutch crowd as they are typically quite reserved. You can find the full version here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/amiOlJtmj9Dagso.html where the audience participation begins around 5:45, otherwise you can see just that parts from a backstage view in another video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p2WV3Lh7db2eoaw.html
