Thanks, Rich, you’re a lifesaver! Your mod works perfectly. Note to others who decide to do it, who may be Dremel newbie’s like me: Use the fiberglass reinforced cutting wheel and be sure to use a grinding tip to clean up any sharp edges and burrs.

Thanks for posting I just got this and even in the lowest position for dado cuts the knife still sticks up so I can’t do rip rabbets only cross cut! At least I got it for $329 but still.

No prob. You think Metabo would do that in the factory, for those of us that do dado cuts.

TU. Video was short and informative. How are you liking the saw? I've had it for about 7 months now and the soft start rumbles a bit when starting up as of a couple of weeks ago. A pretty rough start until it gets to full speed. Wondering if you or other had a similar experience.

Why didn't you just open the other side cover on the opposite side of the blade? You can just use the actual bolt and nut on that side to take the knife off.

Because this way is a permanent fix for easily getting the riving knife off and on without ever having to tip the saw and open the side of it again.

Good solution. Makes it much easier to put the knife back in when going back to a safer set up. Dado cuts and having to flip it on its side each time I switch is a lot of wasted time.
