I just bought the Dewalt DWS799 dual bevel slider and went ahead and bought the contractors stand with the wheels... great set up.... I love it... I actually sold my Metabo HPT single bevel on an Evolution stand to my brother and took that money and went and bought thetDeWalt..... I didn't have any problems with the Metabo saw though... just too good of a deal on the Dewalt...

i just built a miter station for my Hercules since im mainly using it for woodworking and stuff around the house. Also didnt see you mention it in the review, but how accurate is the laser and the bevel ootb? I hear they always need to be adjusted.

I have the Hercules stand and I wouldn't really recommend it. It is a nice stand and is well built. What I didn't think of when I bought it was you can't buy another set of mounts for it. I have a single bevel miter saw and a sliding miter saw. It would be handy to have two separate mounts on both saws so I could use the stand for both. If HF would sell the mounting brackets separately I would change my opinion.

Just bought mine 10/27/21 at Lowe’s in Surfside Beach SC. Close out price $129 brand new in sealed box. Yes that’s the correct price $129. The only one in store. Could not pass up. Took out of box today and searched KZread. Thanks for the enlightenment. Now selling 10 in. Dewalt & stand to purchase new stand with wheels for my Metabo HPT 12 in.

I had a warranty issue on my cordless 10" saw. They replaced it very quick. They shipped me a new saw and emailed me prepaid shipping label and I simply sent my old saw back in the new saws box, attached sent shipping label and off to the races with my new saw. Was very happy with the service overall and didn't cost me a cent!

I usually just watch KZread videos with a ton load of views but decided to watch your video because it was the newest one out there, and I have to say thank you for putting this video out! It was a great video, very informative and I love how down to earth and honest you are in it. I have subscribe to your channel now so keep throwing out great videos like this and I will keep watching, and I will be checking out some more of your video's that you already have out there. BTW I went ahead and purchased this after watching your video. It just seemed liked you get a lot for your money with this. Thanks again man!

They’re on clearance at Lowe’s now. Got mine today. The 45 degree wasn’t dead nuts but was able to tweak it. Threw mine on the Delta stand and it’s doing fine!

Just got this one last night 5/19/20. I purchased the Hitachi table saw last November and was well pleased with it. I built a set of storage shelves for my shed last week but had to borrow my neighbors miter saw. When I saw this miter saw on sale at Lowes it was a no brainer. Invariably when I would need a miter saw my neighbor who is a carpenter would have his miter saw.

I've had this saw (with the Hitachi name) for a few years now and absolutely love it. Before that, I had the old C12LSH and loved it. Great tools.

I bought this same saw just as hitachi was becoming Metabo brand I set it on a rigid gravity miter stand after a tiny tune in and she’s a beast of a workhouse if it pans out it’ll last for years

I think you made a good choice probably the only thing you will question is the price of 12 inch blades and eaven when you do replace it remember always use a decent brand and look for them when there on sale. There are people out there with miter saws that are years old with little or no maintenance my family has a Dewalt radio arm saw that's at least over 50 years old my dad had it ever since I can remember I'm 61 now and it's still running.

I picked this up on clearance at Lowe's. I mounted it on my rigid miter saw stand and find it to be very sturdy. I recommend you look at the rigid stand.

I bought a used metabo 12” miter saw and like it so much I’m interested in this one now. Metabo seems pretty good value right now. The price did just drop, I looked at it just a week ago for way more. Thanks for the review!

Did that have the slide rail or was it just up and down. The local Lowes had the up and down chop saw for $179 but the miter saw that had slides was $299 at 42% off.

No doubt bro, I bought a dewalt dws779 and I wish I would have bought the hitachi/metabo hpt because I don't have much space in my basement and having to get that 12inch+ clearance for the slide rails really hurts. Even the Makita is zero clearance but they're around $700

If you put the bevel all the way to the right or left (45°) is it a true 45? I do a lot of 45 Bevel cuts (not 45° miter) and like to just tilt it all the way until it stops. But is it a true 45° when you do that?

This test is only if you want to saw with precision with a miter saw. (test is not for rough work). Tips and Test: Very important if you would like to saw with precision. (avoid torsion as much as possible)! Always choose a Miter saw with a handle positioned in a vertical line above the saw blade. Everything must be aligned, slide rails, handle, and saw blade,it is much better this way the blade will not tilt. Because there is some torsion in the aluminum housing . And choose an engine with softstart on it to prevent wear of the gear and worm shaft. It is very important that everything is aligned. Here are some examples to show how the handle must be positioned above the blade. Bosch gcm 800 sj / Bosch gcm 8 sjl / Evolution rage 3 / FESTOOL KS 60 / HITACHI C12RSH2 / FESTOOL KS 60 E KAPEX / Metabo KGSV 72 Xact / Bosch GCM 8 SDE (This also is the case with the Miter saw without the slide rails). If you want you can test it yourself at home if there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-1. First you make a clean sharp saw cut from +-5 mm deep in to a nice flat piece of wood about +- 20 mm thick. To this with the normal handle positioned on the right side of the Miter saw. Step-2. Then repeat this by pushing the saw blade down with your hand (finger) on the aluminum protective cover were the saw blade is cased in. Just now only do this without the running engine. Step-3. Now you can see if the saw blade will be positioned in or next to the saw cut. If the saw blade is (+- 0,2 / 0,5 mm) next to the saw cut then there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-4. Therefor it is much better to choose a Miter saw with the handle positioned vertical in line above the saw blade. The second option is the handle positioned horizontal in line above the saw blade. Step-5. When you measure the vertical angle square of you're sawblade don't forget that there is always some torsion in the aluminum housing. Conclusion: how further away the handle is from the saw blade how more chance of torsion in the aluminum housing.(don't go for that). P.S. Also with a cheap slide miter saw it is still better the handgriff a above the saw blade than on the right side. Maybe they will make it someday then we have a winner... So there is a bumper that evens up (adjusts) with the fence right in the way of the blade even when fully locked in the most distant position from the blade. Does anyone know what this is for or if there’s a way to not make contact with it when attached?

I bought this yesterday. It kicked my first board I used and bent the shift. So I went back to lowes and they replaced it

Bot a Bocsh dual Bevel back in 2006 and have used it on many jobs and got a ton of hours on it until It just stopped a few days ago. Probably a bad switch. I had bot this Metabo saw for a backup and have used it on my current job. The only thing so far I dont like is the fact it doesnt slip when you bind a cut. The Bosh has a belt that slips when you bind a cut which has happened more times than I would like to admit. It is a fantastic safety device. The slippage of the belt stops any nasty wood been thrown around. I noticed this Metabo seems to have a direct drive that doesnt slip when a bind happens. Which can be very dangerous.Do you notice that as well?

I liked Hitachi tools and have a few including a smaller 10" jobsite miter saw. Non-sliding. I'm not much of a carpenter and its small footprint works well in my shop. This one is a lot more serious. Pretty nice.

I just got it on sale for 179. So stoked. Thanks for this video it made me realize how good of a deal I got! Can’t wait to use it

The people saying $179 are talking about the Metabo 12” dual bevel compound miter saw not this one, that was the only Metabo saw for $179

The 299 pricing at Lowe's had a big qualifying statement saying discontinued pricing

The $299 pricing was meant for the Hitachi version, all the Hitachi branded tools were clearanced out. Some Metabo branded stuff snuck into the sale. I got this saw, but missed the router. The only difference between this model and the one that is replacing it is Metabo is taking the HPT off everything.

How do you unlock it?

"Horizontal" is side to side, and "Vertical" is up and down. The Metabo handle is vertical. Most of the rest of the saws have a horizontal handle. My portable miter saw is a DeWalt, so I am used to the horizontal handle. I have just ordered this Metabo saw and haven't received it yet, and I'm wondering how I'll get along with the vertical handle.

I’d there a spot to store the flat wrench on the saw.

they probably just clear them out when they make changes to the saw its weird because they still sell this saw but this week they did drop the new c12rsh3 it has this the shadow line. is it going to be better not sure they also have the 36v vwersion of it also id hope its better then the 10 inch version i love metabos tools but their online customer service sucks terrible

I just bought this saw at lowes- after unboxing I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the casting. There are several grinder marks, porosity in the welds etc.. has anyone else noticed this? Reminds me of harbor freight cheapo stuff..

Depends what type of stand you are looking for-portable or shop stand. For the shop look at the Dewalt planer stand which will hold your miter saw and works better for shop use. For portable there are several good options including the Metabo.

I just purchased this saw also. the only issue i've had so far is that the blade guard makes a rubbing noise and rattles a bit for about the first four inches when making a cut. Has anyone else had any issues with the blade guard not being smooth? I reached out to metabo hpt but they haven't responded yet.

The laser is an alignment tool very rarely do we need alignment well we're cutting it should be aligned placed in position and the alignment, you don't need the laser when you cut it

You can easily,….easily, connect the saw to a dust collect system. It actually comes with a Blade…. Most do not. The laser does it’s job exactly as it should, ergo “ don’t really need the laser at that point”. And OMG you seriously are complaining possibly have to ship it????!!! And omg, it’s discontinued!!!! Which EVERY company does regularly. Removing the fence to cut on one bevel!! Come on man! This is a great saw. As good as most any Great saw. 15 amp motor. Dual bevel. Quick access to brushes.

Who cares if it is discontinued? Its being replaced by a new model. Its under warranty for five years no mater what. The newer model will cost more anyway. These are now $200.00 at Menards which makes that an even greater deal than it was then.

Dudei don't know about miter saws or wood tools at all, but that looks pretty good. Metabo is very new to me just like Tekton

i dont know if anyone know this but there is no adjustment of the indents that you move the saw to the desired angles you cut,,,i just got off the phone with metabo,,you cannot adjust the indents of the saw,,they are preset at the factory,,

How would you adjust an indent? It's an indent, a notch. Did you really ask them how to move the indents on the miter gauge? For what it's worth, thanks. I'm sure somebody out there was scratching their head too.

Yes the newest c12RSH2(s) is $469 retail everywhere , the model people keep talking about for $179 is the 12” non sliding metabo , their saws all look so similar it’s hard to tell but I just bought this 12” dual bevel sliding compound miter saw for $500 after tax great saw

It's nuts that this saw is now $399 at lowes and like $500 from Amazon.

@@1888CHAD8881 If nothing is damaged, I would grab it. Just make sure you can still have the 5 year warranty and you can still return it within the return window.

laser doesn't stay on the work piece because - shadow. you can see that because of where the laser comes out, the rubber deflector will block the laser as the saw is lowered. only problem with the laser for me was it was not perfectly lined up- slight skew to it. my only problem with this saw is the blade was not on the arbor correctly out of the box. first spin up, it shook something fierce. took the blade off, installed it again (properly) and it spun smoothly, beautifully and made beautiful cuts. reason I'm watching today is to see how exactly you're supposed to cut that bumper/support that the blade runs into. i understand the principle (I think), but it just seems odd that they put such a small piece of plastic there that you're supposed to cut through? when i cut through it, it tore a chunk off and threw it somewhere; thankfully not in my eye. another thing to help get better cuts is to adjust your zero-clearance inserts. i see you've got them wide open, as from the factory. i didn't get it for 299, but for 329. however, at 329, it's still 20 bucks cheaper than the comparable dewalt, but the dewalt doesn't have a laser (got it for my wife and she really wanted a laser)

I think it's discontinued because they ran out of Hitachi stock. A lot of their products have been discontinued recently. I purchased a Metabo router and plunger for $80 at Lowes on clearance. I'm getting this saw asap because I'm building a shop in a one car garage bay and the extra foot of room is ideal.

I just picked one of these up from lowes for 165 +tax

Harbor Freight has a better warrenty

You are going to cut your damn thumb off with a small piece of wood not being supported by the back fence. Stay safe

The way you use this saw is extremely dangerous. cutting short pieces holding by hand? Sliding back and forth? Please learn the proper technique (for a start, please read the manual how to use this saw safely) before you post anything. People are watching and they will assume it is the proper way to use it but you can loose your fingers by doing so. Please do some investigation before you say something about warranty. Lowes is the service center mentioned on metabo page. They will replace your saw if you want to claim the warranty. They call it warranty return and it is easy as it sounds. No expensive shipping required. Testing the cut on a brand new tool? the square you use is not super accurate if you want to check precision. The blade on ALL saws is extremely sharp so of course the cut will be pristine. The real test is to test the saw after few hundred of cuts.

Who gives a shit about the warranty how does the saw work?

I'm 3 minutes into the video and there's no content about the saw yet. I'm getting irritated.... You are wasting my precious free time. Get to the point faster.
