I love this little part of the wonderous story of Kevin's life. I visit it all the time when I feel in need of a wee lift and a laugh. He has the brains of Einstein, the tenacity of a terrier and the heart of a noble lion. God gave him brain disease...... But He also gave him Mum, Dad, brothers, a sister, Pat, Debbie, Uncles George and Kevin, Margaret and finally, Herbert. How does Kevin pay them all back? By saving the lives of troubled people all over our wonderful world, EVERY DAY OF HIS LIFE. You just know that God is watching Kevin. And He is well pleased.

Kevin is a remarkable young man. I subscribed. I am so happy that he got his condition treated and what a treasure he is...to those who need to hear his story, as do the rest of us. I'm looking forward to "meeting" Margaret in another video. She also must be a remarkable young woman as well. I can't imagine it's a common situation...falling in love in a psyche ward. I hope a producer stumbles upon these videos and creates a movie about Kevin's life and work. It would be a wonderful movie that could help others who are "out of balance" and need some help to overcome their own mental challenges.

Amen 🙏 Kevin is an amazing person and friend. I'm so thankful I got the chance to meet him and hear his story in person February 24th of 2020. His wife seems so sweet also. I'd love to meet her one day and hang out with both of them. My snuggle bugs parents met in a psych ward also. My snuggle bugs dad also had bipolar disorder and I was planning on having them both come with me to hear Kevin's story in person one day but sadly his dad died this year. He's looking down on us thinking jess you should take my son to hear Kevin's story in person and have him meet Kevin. Kevin keep up the amazing work in all that you do. Your friend, Jess

For 9:10 , As a former insomniac (get insomnia from time to time still), sleep is criminally underrated not just for mental well being, but OVERALL well-being . Brainwaves don’t work for me personally, but I fall asleep like a baby when listening to rain and thunder. Everything is different for everybody. Took me a while to find out I fall asleep listening to those noises 😅. Just be patient, because the conscious intention to improve your mental well being is enough, inevitably leading to positive results✌️

You are hilarious. I shared your Golden Gate Bridge jump story with my seminary students today, all 20 of them. I have a little tidbit called Therapy Thursday each week to address mental health with teens and this was the perfect video (the jumping one:) to help bring awareness to suicide and hopefully prevent some. Then I just smiled and laughed a lot by myself watching this gem! I just love you and if ever I see you, I'm going to give you a big hug!

And true Love stories don't have fairy tale endings. True Love is tough and gritty. True Love STAYS. True Love stands witness to the bloody, gory details of those it commits to. So glad you survived and found love, Kevin. Congratulations. I’ve been watching your seminar’s for years. Your story helped to save my life at a time when I was going through a lot of turmoil. I just wanted out and I was searching online for any reason to keep here, in this world. That’s when I came across your story. When I saw the pain in your fathers eyes, I knew at that moment I couldn’t do that to my parents and brothers. I knew I had to find something to live for. Thank- you so much for sharing your story with me and the world. I don’t think you really understand the impact you’ve made on peoples lives. I’m so glad you stopped running so I could understand what you were saying. Lol Keep fighting, never surrender. Great story. Love your sense of humour. You seem like an easy guy to love, Kevin, no matter what, remember that always and never stop being you. You’re a pretty special guy and I do believe that’s why God saved your life, because He needed you and your help to save others. Everything happens for a reason, I truly believe that. God bless your wife for giving you a chance. You have to admit, it would be scary because of the stigma attached to mental health disorders to agree to go on that first date. (She sounds like a very strong special lady) Your wife must know she’s a lucky lady as well and that together the two of you can and will conquer mental illness and have a long and happy life together. It may not always be easy, but it will always be worth fighting for. I wish you both a lifetime of joy, peace, happiness and strength. Believe in eachother and remember the most important thing in a happy successful relationship is communication and respect. All my love to you both. (I hope I’m wishing you a Happy 25th anniversary years from now) ❤️❤️ #KevinMargaretHines 🙏🏼

How would one go about getting diagnosed with bipolar disorder? I've been having a lot symptoms for almost a year and I feel like I should go to the doctor about it but I'm not sure how to approach the topic

Great question! Go see a psychiatrist and get evaluated. Let them know all of your symptoms. Maybe even get a second or third opinion. Also read the book bipolar for dummies

Keep a diary for a few weeks. Think about what symptoms you are feeling,, where and when its happening, who you are with . Then if you struggle in the assessment or feel awkward ( tongue tied) it will work as a prop..Help you to more clearly share your concerns..........

Dude. Is it me or are we witnessing hypomania disguised as having gotten better? Kurt Cobain was bipolar and look at how he made out in the end.

Thanks for the comment Terrence. I’ve never claimed to have “gotten better” I live with varied symptoms daily. I’m following my mental wellness routine and doing the very best I can. I work tirelessly for my better brain health. But I have days where I’m more up and days where I’m more down. Label it if you must but I’m we well as I can be. Taking it one day at a time. Thanks again and wishing you well.

Hi Anya, if you ever get really down and feel like taking your life please call someone. If you don't have anyone contact me @ eyeconfluence@gmail.com and I'll give you my #. Now you have someone to talk to. I've been suicidal at times but I have a great life now. I don't get those feelings anymore. I'm so happy to be alive and here to help someone who needs me. God bless you 🙏🏽

Kevin, I wonder if your quote about "as soon as my hands left the railing I wanted to live..." could be a placard every few feet along the bridge. at least until the net is finished. Please excuse if my quote isn't precisely exact - if someone who feels like you felt could read the thought that you had the moment after your jump, maybe that's another way to touch them. If you suggest it to someone who might be able to "make it so" and anyone has the audacity to say anything about ego, please send them to this - because it was clearly suggested TO you by someone who appreciates your presence.🫂
