that's what Ozil would like you to think. I watch the games. He has not been good for some time and refuses to track back defensively. Arteta gave him chances and he wasn't good enough. He's one of the highest wages in the richest league but refuses to work hard in training. He knew he was not going to play and had the chance to go to a different club but refused. He chose the money. Love Arsenal? Watch last years Europa final where he played miserably and as we're losing he took his time strolling off the pitch wasting time when he was subbed because he just doesn't give a fuck. He may be a nice guy but he doesn't care about playing the game anymore and it's obvious.

The truth is there just aren't any top flight teams in Europe who play with a CAM who doesn't track back. For Ozil to play his best he needs other players to carry his defensive responsibilities and that's just not the current meta tactics. What top team would take him? Certainly no one on his massive wages. That is why he won't transfer from Arsenal even though he knows he won't be playing. No one would take him on his current contract. I'm not going to blame the guy for choosing money, that's his prerogative. But let's not pretend he's a victim that is ridiculous.

I still think he could be successful in a 4-2-3-1 double pivot with strong b2b midfielders behind him but that is not a popular formation among the big clubs right now. Look at Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich. No one plays like that anymore. A smaller team may play that formation still, but smaller team = smaller wages. I was a huge Ozil fan when Arsene first brought him over and used to get so angry at the English pundits bitch about his languid style. However in the last two years playing 42 games he's produced 6 goals and 4 assists. Don't tell me you know football and think that's good enough.

How can you not love Ozil's football. This is the kind of thing that we love the most when watching a game apart from the end result. Football used to be 30% beauty, 70% result. But now, it's 100% about the result.

Such a class act! His style and elegance on the ball is the best in history. Hope we can all see him at his peak once again.

There were Zidane, Xavi, Pirlo, Kaka, Iniesta, Ozil. I thanked God who gave me chance to watch these elegant midfielders with magical touch. Now it's only Ziyech. It's so sad.

The brain we are missing now. There's no one in the team who has that amazing school of football thoughts as he does. He may be slower now, but he can still provide those key passes we've been lacking for almost a full year now. With that great defensive play, we need someone able to eliminate more men in midfield and deliver the ball to the front. He's Arteta's missing piece and Arteta's left it under the cupboard. What am i talking about?

Being slow is not a hindrance anymore if you have players willing to make runs into open space and be available for you. Prime example is Rodriguez at Everton.

What I like in him the most is that he’s never selfish more like he loves to assist more than shooting a goal by himself... simply he plays for the club not only for him...

The way ozil plays the game reminds me a lot of how berbatov played. Neither the fastest or the most skillful but so capable of just gliding passed anyone and making it look so effortless when they do it. I've heard some call them lazy but to me it's just ultimate composure. They are 2 or 3 steps ahead of anyone else and it's a joy to watch when they were ticking

Same was said when we signed Auba. Yet he only managed 4 assists and 4 big chances created in 42 matches over two seasons which Auba won the golden boot and was runner up. You Ozilites and Ozidiots really are a bigger deluded bunch than those Spuds up the lane lmao.

Because he's been crap the last 3 seasons or so and walks around the pitch with absolutely no motivation whatsoever, the guy wouldn't even attempted to win the ball back all he would do is be negative and give out to his teammates who were putting in at least twice the shift he was. I used to love the guy he would be getting assist left right and center, a proper playmaker. I've heard alot about him missing alot of football over being sick and stuff so maybe he's got a health condition which caused the decline in his fitness mainly?

I expect Arteta to play him along side strong midfielder like Partey, Ceballos and now Xhaka. Those dudes will bring out the best in him again, and then we can play Auba CF, but Arteta want to flank Aubameyang and Özil too which made our pattern of play looking so pathetic. Currently, he is the only thing we are lacking, unless we get another performer like him, if not we can't stop clamoring for Mesut Özil.
