If Arsenal Set up with Havertz playing similar to the way he did at Leverkusen as a ten who makes a lot of false runs and than add a proper striker (Gyokeres, Oshimen, or Vlahović) they would not only have the strongest defense in the league but have ridiculous output in addition to controlling the center. As a Spurs fan as much as I hate to admit it that might be the setup they could win the league.

We did do that in a couple of games at the start of the year, where he basically played LCM and ST, switching with Trossard. A better ST/CM combination player to dovetail with him could turn into a masterstroke (although tbf Trossard and Havertz have like almost 40 goal contributions combined…so there’s that haha)

I originally thought he didnt worth the amount of money based off his Chelsea history and his positioning that arteta started him in midfield but the more i watched him i saw other parts of his game that i never saw before however the higher up the pitch he played he grew in stature and proved a lot of doubters wrong. I myself doubted his effectiveness for this immediate season but after 9-10 games he proved me wrong and got in the zone and contributed in a meaningful way. Hats off to Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz is proving his doubters wrong. During his time at Chelsea despite his game winning goal in the champions league final, he never justified his price tag or replicated the brilliant form he showed at Bayer Leverkusen. He was wasteful in front of goal, inconsistent, hot and cold and nobody knew what his best position was. That’s one of the reasons why many eyebrows were raised when Arsenal signed him. Under Mikel Arteta when it comes to recruitment they’ve not really put a foot wrong and every transfer that was doubted ended up working out. He saw something in Havertz that nobody saw which is why they signed him. At the start of the season, when he struggled and looked devoid of confidence, many of us were proven right that he was a misfit. He didn’t look like a good fit in the team was uncomfortable playing as a midfielder and at the time nobody understood what Arteta saw in him. The last 3 months tho, he has hit a purple patch of form. He’s much better as a number 9 with Arsenal than he ever did with Chelsea. Playing on a far superior team obviously helps, somehow Mikel Arteta managed to get the best out of him. Chelsea made him look mediocre. 14 goals and 7 assists altogether, 13 goals and 6 assists in the premier league, he’s had the most productive season of his career in the premier league. At Arsenal, as the season has progressed he has grown in confidence has been more comfortable in their system and you can see that he’s on a team that has been able to utilize him to his strengths. In their attack, he’s responsible for getting the goals linking up the play winning balls in the air and with Havertz up top, it’s not a coincidence that Arsenal hit their best run of form with him as a number 9 even if it wasn’t enough to win the premier league title this season. The guy has been so good to the point where there’s a feeling that Arsenal don’t need to sign a striker in the summer, they probably will who knows, if they don’t, they have to continue putting faith in Havertz because he brings a lot to the team. This is one of the rare signings they’ve worked out and the right environment is how players like him can thrive and play to their potential.

Arteta is a proactive, forward-looking manager who sees potential where no one else can. It's hilarious the amount of times we buy a new player where everyone scratches their heads in confusion, but then they end up being great. I just wish we utilize our youth academy more and let the young lads get playing time on the pitch like many other clubs did this season.

Yep, total disrespect. When it's other players, it's ok, they need time to settle. Even when Kai's GA contribution improved immensely in 2024, there's still talk about him not being good enough to start at CF next season. People keep saying they need to sign a 100m+ striker for this summer when there are other parts of the team that are in more urgent need of strengthening; the 6, left-back and right-wing to rotate with Saka. I'll be happy for Kai to start again next season and can envision him getting 20+ goals and plenty of assists.

Usually PL Clubs lead to a stagnation in the skill of players, especially Chelsea, but Arsenal are the exception. The moment Havertz joined Arsenal I knew he would be great eventually. We don't have a proper striker when he was still a blue and all the goalscoring responsibility of scoring would naturally fall on him and proved to be a too much than he can handle People don't understand that he's not a striker. He strive really well on the CAM role. Look how good he is with Germany and Leverkusen. When he was played on the position that suits him, he's going to perform well. The thing with Kai Havertz is, he's a confidence player and you have to know how to get the most out of a player like that. As a youth football coach, I had a player just like that and after I gave this lad a little more time and work on his confidence, he got better and better. You have to be able to understand people, that's one of the most important skills you can have as a coach. I wish I had even a tenth of the coaching skills that Arteta has but you don't need to be a Premier League manager to understand people, however....... that, is one of Arteta's strongest qualities as a manager/coach.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. He's had a very strong second half of the season, certainly, but I would like to see Havertz contribute a minimum of 20 G/A (like he has this season) for another 2 years before we can say he's been worth the money for Arsenal. I know Arsenal fans love him right now, and fair enough too because he's been excellent since the turn of the year. He seems more settled now so maybe he hits the ground running in 24/25. I actually like watching him play, there aren't many attacking players who are 1.93m tall with his skillset and workrate so Arsenal have a unique player for sure. I'll judge him, ultimately, over a few seasons and not just half a season, let's see what he can do.

Naaa, Chelsea just can’t develop players. He was insane at Leverkusen already and a generational talent in Germany. Along the likes of Wirtz and Musiala. Chelsea made him worse as they forced him into a wrong role and then slandered him… Arteta says it himself at 7:50 . What makes him world class is his game intelligence. Even reaching only 70 percent of his body potential he could be a world class player similar to Müller. He has that eye for rooms

Is that the same Arteta that signed Jesus, Zinchenko, gave Nketiah a new deal? The same one who signed David Luis, who has Elneny still at the club? The same manager who gave a 14-year-old his debut then never played him again? Don't gloss over this manager's mistakes. Havertz is definitely a mistake. 65 million for a striker that scores 13 goals is a waste of money.

@@PepTheGOAT-nl7em If you're gonna talk about mistakes you should at least get your facts right. Arteta didnt sign David Luiz nor Elneny, he gave Nketiah new deal because he's not brain dead and he couldn't sell Elneny if he didn't want to go in the first place. Arteta never gave a 14 year old debut. Where are you getting your info from, your arse? Jesus and Zinchenko were both good signings and Arsenal will get their money back if they decide to sell. Nketiah's market value is €30m. If you think it's better to let a young 30m player go for free than to give him a new contract, you should have your head examined. Just goes to show what fans like you actually know about professional football.

Right from the start, I knew Havertz needed nothing more than his confidence back. All one needed to do was to watch him while with Leverkusen and you could see what he was able to offer. The negativity, especially from my own fellow Arsenal supporters was disgusting and I am so pleased that most of them have now admitted how wrong they were. A few diehards, are simply far too stupid to bend that far.

Dang when Havertz arrived at Chelsea he looked like a fuckboy. Now he's like a recovering junkie. Crazy what spending your youth at Chelsea does to people. Also, 250k per week after a lackluster career at Chelsea (in EPL)?

He was a flop at Chelsea though…. he has scored 14 goals in 51 games for Arsenal. Its not like these numbers are mindblowing. Now he has Odegaard behind himmeho plays him through…., thats the difference. Nobody respects Haaland either, even though he has contributed with 274 goals in 276 games. For City in two seasons he has 95 goal contributions in 95 games. Go figure…
