    This is an incredible display of artistry and craftsmanship. I am really impressed. I recently purchased Revell's 1/32 offering of the Me 262 b-1a/u1 and would like to model it with the amount of details and creativity as you have done with the 1/48 scale offering. Thank you for sharing, I will continue to watch and learn !

    One note: RLM 74 is a very dark green-grey, RLM 76 is the pale blueish grey underside colour, also used as an upperside colour on Luftwaffe nightfighters..... RLM 75 is the medium grey that was also used in the 74/75/76 standard colours. That said, you are doing a very nice job on the kit...

    Grete additional information, thank you. I build me-262 red 11 and this machine was destroyed in the end of war. I do not found any pictures of this aircraft, so I combined red 10 and famous red 12.

  • @brettpeacock9116

    @brettpeacock9116

    8 жыл бұрын

    Late in the war the nightfighter scheme was "adjusted" to provide for better ground concealment during daylight - a light blue grey and mid-grey aeroplane kind of stands out on grass! - so many were given a new camouflage of RLM 81 or 82 & 83 in a dense mottle, often applied directly over the two greys. Red 10 was one such, as was Red 8. While there are few photos of the upper wings, evidence suggests that Red 10 and Red 8 both used standard daytime upper-wing splinter style camouflage (usually 81/82) on the wings and tail-planes, with only the fuselage being mottled. At least one other Me 262B had the whole upper-side mottled. (I've been looking into this for my 1/32 Trumpeter Nightfighter Me262....)

    Hi David! Great job as allways...I am a great fun of your videos. One Question please: Why do you thin the oil colours before washing with Tamyia thinner and not White spirit?? I mean Gunze Clear gloss is Acrilic ..oil+X-22 does not affect the underline colour? No potential danger to ruin and peel of the colour as you are wipping off the wash ?

  • @TheModelGuy

    @TheModelGuy

    You have to put down a clear layer first and allow it to fully dry before the washes. That protects your paint.

    I think austrian is close enough to german to qualify as classical of the nation being built. well done! my personal mission is to have producers that build models and use classical music to use that of a composer of the nation being built. its just my thing. all I pictured was the missile deterrent from 2001 a space odyssey in that opening sequence. really cool.

    Another tip - In real life the upperside was painted in the Medium grey RLM75 overall, and RLM 76 was then applied in a Spiderweb of varying density over it. (Not RLM76 first then spots of 75 for the mottles. I know- strange but true!)

    The He 219, Ju 88G, Ta154 for sure, others as they developed, - the Ju88C's started with a standard, then patchwork style, then changed to the nightfighter style, for example. (I wish they'd let me post some profile jpgs I have to show you, as well as a couple of really good photos I've found. Try to Google "NASM Heinkel 219 Restoration " images.. there is one clear shot of the upper wing in the images, showing the "scribble-work" used to produce the mottling. This is really a fine example, other "scribble work" could be very much wider, to produce a sparser mottle.

    Vůbec to nepasovalo, ale po jemném zbroušení nebyl problém. Sice ty motory nejsou tak kvalitní jako od airesu, ale dávat za ně 1000 se mi moc nechtělo. Původě jsem tam chtěl otevřít jen jeden od quicboostu. Ten motor jsem musel hodně upravovat. CMK neumožňuje ho udělat volně jak ho mám na videu.
