You know what I like about Meshuggah... Everything.

Jens: What did we do different? Tomas: It's other songs... It's not the same songs, we didn't record the same songs over again, so that's a new thing. They're all like later additions, than the ones that ended up on previous albums, because this is a new one. So that's changed... Even the lyrics are different on this one, they're not the same lyrics even, as on previous albums... they're new ones. Jens: They are!? Tomas: Yeah....

thomaas makes such a good point when talking about the djent scene...even though a lot of bands take influence from meshuggah and may sound similar, meshuggah took influences from other bands and sounds similar to them. it's true of any musical artist.

It is so much fun to watch these guys. They seem really relaxed, but also like: "I don't give a shit".

"Slightly influential", only reason they haven't dominated metal their careers, is their music from 20 years ago STILL sounds like it's from the future.

Listening to a metal singer is like listening to a politician; nobody understands what he is saying, but he REALLY looks like he means it! ;-)

It's funny to see their interviews in Alive with professionalism and maturity and then watch this broadcast.

Great interview but shit some of those questions were stupidly ridiculous! Do you think the world will end in 2012? Thomas who's your hair stylist?? Really?? If i was Tomas or Jens I wouldn't even answer that, so admire their sense of humor.

@Obedience he definitely said that. Going by their lyrics and artwork psychedelics seem to be a large influence, they even have a song called 'Ayahuasca Experience', so I think they've made it clear enough without addressing it directly. Listening to or seeing Meshuggah under the influence of any entheogen is an unforgettable experience.

If you'll be on the Tuska band list this summer I'll definitely have to get there. Animals As Leaders and Textures are coming, you being there too would be a blast.
