    Thank you for posting this video. I have both the WD 800 and the TT 800 (I just got the TT 800 the other day). I can attest to the fact that both amps are absolute pro-level amps; and you did a great job breaking down the differences. Very helpful!

    Great overview of the best new Class.D Bass Amps. I own the WD800 and TT800 and love them both. I sold my D800+ for a DarkGlass MT M900 v2 and I regret it. The DG is a great amp but the D800+ sounds better and has more slam clean than the DG. I can use the VMT or B7K with the D800+ and get best of both worlds.

    Right on I’ve been gigging with all three of them and it’s tough to pick a favorite. The 800+ is a great gig amp though.

    I play with 2 Lead Guitarists, 2 half stacks and a touring level Drummer. Are these loud enough? My current head is the Hartke LH1000 (I used the SWR pre-fender 700 for many years) Thoughts?? Cheers

    It’s plenty loud. A lot depends on what cabinets you use with it. For loud gigs I use two bag end 12” and two bag end 15” cabs. That’s loud.

    @@ivanmike1968Very True. I almost always Play through the PA via DI or Mic'd Cab. Just played a gig on Sat. with my Mesa WD800 a d 1x15 and 2x10 cabs but I still ran an xlr via DI to our PA. Had my Amp up half way and got great compliments on bass sound. Slight OD as my Bass tone and used a Drive Pedal for Rock songs and Envelope Filter for the Pop/Hip Hop songs.

    I read all the comments and thanks for the great video & your time. So......for versatility you give the nod to TT over the WD. And more old school tube vibe from the WD? I LOVE modern tones & have the BK& for modern. I am thinking to get a more "vibey" amp behind it for the "warmth" and to fill it out. I play everything from Jazz to Modern HR/Metal (& I want the 2ohms for my bigger cab set up) Thoughts? Thanks Brother.

    GREAT video! Thanks so much for posting. I am looking at one of these Mesa amp heads to go with a Mesa 2x15. I am very much into classic/blues rock (early Led Zeppelin I-IV, early Kansas, early Aerosmith, Deep Purple 70-73). So, I am thinking the TT800? What would you suggest and why? Thanks again!

    I would probably go with the WD800 or the D800+ for a recording studio application. They are probably a bit more versatile and intuitive

    Had a GK 800RB and like a dolt, sold it. Picked up. a GK 1001rb and it has been solid for over a decade. Sounds good. Whatever it lacks in tonal ability is made up by affordability and reliability. I chuckled when I saw you holding up those Mesas like they are light as a shoe box. They look killer. Glad you like them. Amazing how far technology has moved along! Cheers!

    Hi, great video! I am currently using an Ampeg SVT and want to buy something lighter, that keeps that tube vibe/feel. Which is more "close" to an SVT?

    I couldn’t say for sure. To me the WD pushes back a little bit more like a tube amp. But the TT has a more complex break up

    Hi, I’m a long time GK player who has had some bad luck with their newer stuff and am looking closely at Mesa as a new option. Which of these three would you recommend for a rock player who typically plays with a pick? I’m sure they can all do it sufficiently, but I’m looking for something that’s going to punch similarly to the older GK stuff with a nice roundness and some presence. Thanks I’m advance for any suggestions you may have!

    Maybe the WD might be closest , maybe the D+.. ~ the WD has the liveliest midrange

    I run a WD800 with the subway 212 cab and it's the happiest I've been with a bass rig. Punch for days if you want it and if you want smooth vintage it's there too. My 2 cents

    @@ivanmike1968 Do any of them feel more like a full tube amp then the others (or are capable of it if set up properly)? Thanks for the feedback. Not a lot of videos of these amps, so it helps a lot. I'm really looking for more of the fat 70s soul sound I guess. Finger style. I do want to be able to cut through a bigger mix, and sometimes I am playing rock stuff, but nothing too heavy.

    @@ivanmike1968 Thanks. I checked out that video before this one! Both very helpful. I guess I'm just looking for a genre specific opinion. To be honest, I liked the WD and the boogie channel on the TT the best in this video. But I'm really asking about how the amps feel to play and react to being driven harder (sort of the solid state vs tube amp thing). I could watch videos till I'm blue but not get that sort of info. If you can't or don't want to add anything else, no worries. The videos you put up are the most helpful I'm seen, so thanks for those.

  • @ivanmike1968

    @ivanmike1968

    Ah. The WD & the boogie channel are the most tube like. The WD feels the most like it’s “pushing back” to me. The low/med/high damping control on the WD can give more of a tube feel in med & low. As far as being pushed, I think the TT has more character, especially with the symmetrical/asymmetrical knob. The TT also reacts differently in 2 ohm mode than it does in 4 ohm mode when using a 4 ohm load. He same is true with the 4 & 2 ohm setting when using an 8 ohm load. You can really get it to start to bloom.
