Wow her voice is even more impressive when singled out like that
Without her vocals, it still would've been a good song but Merry Clayton's vocals made the difference between good and GREAT on this one. It would not be the same without what she added!

It is, it really sells that she is screaming her whole lungs out, as if she is so desperate for anyone to hear her that's he is screaming her throat raw

The Stones, and Marry Clayton. I had to know who the vocalist was, and it led me to this wonderful little video highlighting her mighty contribution to this song and rock and roll as a whole. Wheew, man, her voice is feminine and a kick in the balls all at the same time. Grateful to be alive, grateful for her song. She is immortalized, that voice will carry on long after our time has passed.
