  The Stones, and Marry Clayton. I had to know who the vocalist was, and it led me to this wonderful little video highlighting her mighty contribution to this song and rock and roll as a whole. Wheew, man, her voice is feminine and a kick in the balls all at the same time. Grateful to be alive, grateful for her song. She is immortalized, that voice will carry on long after our time has passed.

  Gave me goosebumps! I heard she sadly lost the baby she was carrying that night. I believe she said it may have been in part due to how intensely she sang that night.

  Interesting maps, but description is deceptive. it is not a history of "deforestation". it reflects what's left of "virgin forest". However, total forest cover is higher now than it has been decades, if not centuries. It may not be the same trees that were there 400 years ago, but a forest is a forest.

  This is true but even if you compare the current forest area which is roughly 37% of the US land this is still a far cry from the native forest cover. Both Europe and US have first destroyed most of their native forest cover to become rich and self sufficient.

  Without her vocals, it still would've been a good song but Merry Clayton's vocals made the difference between good and GREAT on this one. It would not be the same without what she added!
