Simply amazing, I saw my life fall apart within secs when that button snapped, I can't get to work on the highway for 20 mins in bad weather and no shops open today, plus a bad neighborhood to have your window wide open! That happened to me to, I stuck the end of my sun glasses in the slot where it broke wriggled it around a bit till it closed then ordered the part off Amazon for $10...hope u had a good trip...

you could always pull the windows up with your key fob, just press and hold lock button

Glad it helped. You should go back to give car at the jumbo yard and grab some other parts for just in case... radio amplifier, maf, secondary air pump, more window tabs, etc.

Suggest putting a piece of cloth under the screwdriver to avoid any possible scratching of the component below the switch being removed. This was really helpful and just saved me yet another MB repair bill.

OMG !!! Why did I not see this weeks ago!! I have been riding around with my window down and went to the Mercedes place and another mechanic. They both said it would be $700-$1000 to fix the window.

Mine is in for regular maintenance service C, I asked them to fix my button while it's there and they said $463! I said never mind. I saw this quick fix on another video about a year ago when it broke. It worked but the button I swapped popped off too after a few weeks, so I searched and saw your video. Maybe I need to buy a new button I saw them on Amazon for $4. Or maybe I didn't snap it into place hard enough? I wish you could fix my button (wink) lol. Subscribed

Very little pressure. Slowly increase it to snap it in place.

Thank you for the very helpful video and closeup views. I have been very worried with two buttons broken on the Driver control, fortunately I could continue driving for about a year because both switches were for Rear windows, but now the Driver window switch cracked and a small piece broke off and Mercedes wanted to replace the entire unit for $480 !! I will now order the switches which are $5.40 a pair on EBay and try to replace them,

Glad you're taking this approach. You can also buy the complete switch online for under $100 and replace it yourself. Good luck with the buttons. Tell me how it turns out for you.

Nice demonstration, can I fo that on a e350 2010. My car doesn't have any broken once but there are faded and peeled off. I have the buttons already but I am afraid to break them as a pull it out and end up damaging the inside to put the replacement. Another question, can I use a little flat screw driver I have? Easy fix. Use a thin blade (knife) and pop it up. Carefully.... then use some electronic crc contact cleaner to clean around the edges.

iRepair Autos, one side of my button broke and someone trying yo help seemed to have broken the other side. Though the button is high above normal position, it isn't out, can this method work for me in this?

Are you aware of a supplier for the replacement of the radio or infortaiment center button?

Normal it breaks the inside piece , you have to replace a whole unit window switch; if it breaks the button you can replacement a new button that is easy. The button top and bottom is little bit different sharpe though.

hmmm - you can try opening the unit and replacing the bulbs. I have not attempted to do this. The whole part could fall apart or break in the process. Becareful.

BS! You can tell the switch you put in is the same one you took out; it's disfigured on its face in the lower left corner. All of us that have had a window button break off have stuck it back in (you don't need a screwdriver to remove it by the way; it'll fall out all by itself no problem). Actually fixing this issue takes a lot more work. And those Bross buttons you link are horrible; they don't match OEM or fit like OEM....
