Glad the Aston won. I would buy it over any Italian/German super car

Why's that,because it used to be a good british brand?I would never buy a new Aston simply because their progress has simply stopped several years ago,and they virtually produce the same car for like 10 years...The new cars maybe pretty on the outside,but the same old engines just simply cannot keep up in both power and efficiency,and the price tag it's just way too overpriced...I am really sorry too see Aston in this harsh situation

obsedatr6 Astons look good, they sound good, well built, good quality, good to drive and you feel more special in them. Thats why I would buy one over the others.

Will James I really have to say that volante really looks amazing,nobody can think otherwise...But that 11 years old interior,that V12 with 500 hp...It't just ancient performance and technology.I mean,have you seen the garmin navigation??

obsedatr6 They are still pretty fast, but Astons are not track cars, there drivers cars, nice on a twisty B road and nice to cruse up a motorway. Astons have a magic that Mercedes, Porsche, McLaren,e.c.t just don't have. If you want a fast Aston designed for the track, buy one of their racing versions of their models, ones that have won lots of rallies and races.

Will James Nobody doubt the fact that is a everyday gran-tourer..But for that imense price tag,it just doesn't offer tha much...I bet a SL63 is much faster and enjoyable,if not the SL65 will do that,I don't even dare to say the California T or the 911...If you guys think that BADGE and some sort of history make a car,well...I do not agree...Long story short,for that imense price tag,the competition just does it better

It's amazing how the Aston's shape and look is quite old now, yet it still looks amazing and definitely better than the Merc.

I can't believe you guys are saying because the aston has less power, it's the more balanced car. It was easier to drive because neither car had grip, and because the aston has less power, it was easier to manage. Do this again on a dry track(whenever that is?), i bet you will think different, if not, it' because your biased for aston.

there is no comparison between these two. Yes the AMG is more twitchy but look at how much more power it has, of course it will get side way easier, the Aston is slow and lazy for such a big engine it produces very little power which is pretty pathetic. Just to prove the sls handles extremely well. it did a lap of the nurburgring in 7:28 Which is the same as the 458 and the MP4-12C

Channel 5 UK is blocking Irish people from access to it's youtube site. Hows that for neighbourly? Cnuts. Was expecting you guys to do the same.

Convertible, I'll take the Aston anyday. Coupe? You just got to have the SLS. Gullwing doors FTW. Judging from a purely aesthetic point of view.

Poor comparison, a dry run is missing. A run with controls is missing too...

These comparisons are interesting but Id rather not see one if its not done right. Testing them like this in the wet is completely pointless. IMO either wait for a dry run or dont do it at all.

Both such incredible cars. I don't think there is a winner. I like how the Aston comes in stick though. Used Aston Martins can be very scary to buy however. I think the Aston is probably more fragile than the Merc. I'd choose the Merc. More dealer networks and parts support. Not as many know Aston as they do Merc and I know for a fact Mercedes customer service is the bomb.

I like both of them.

aston martin have a 6.0 ltr V12 produce 510HP. mercedes SLS have a 6.2ltr V8 that produce 563HP. i dont get it why aston martin V12 produce little HP? i mean V12 should produce at least around 600HP like the aventador or the S65 AMG

Depends on the efficiency of the engine. Merc made their V8 incredibly refined, whilst Aston didn't

Amazing, the brit t.v shows always think the brit cars are better. SLS has a waaaaaaaay better chassis and is a better car in general.

Right... naturally the Aston won... Biased towards british cars as usual. You'll even say that british leyland cars are better than ze german autos! XD The only thing the Aston wins is the beauty pageant, cause I do admit. That is a sexy car. But in terms of performance, the Mercedes wins by far!

The English car is the "better" car. I don't mind German cars but I prefer English cars.

Maybe because the SLS is probably more fun to drive because it can drift more and I find it I Ironic how Aston Martin needs to buy Mercedes-Benz engines to complete the task so it's a PUPPET to them.

+Stefan Unson actually that particular aston didn't have an amg engine. also it's an unfair comparison cos the aston is a gt car and the amg is a sports car

SLS AMG is still the better car. Aston might be the better GT, but the SLS is the better overall car.

Drive mercedes or don't drive car

aston is too outdated and overpriced every clever person would choose Mercedes
