I make this point all the time- tall EVs have fewer compromises than tall ICE cars because the center of gravity is so low. Thanks for making it here. Another great video!

Update: just bought one, AMG exclusive package EQS SUV, drives and looks great! Going to put a clear plastic bra and tint next week. Just left the Mercedes dealership, Sales person informs me that in AZ, the SUV can attain 350 mile between charges if you use high recooperation brakes - namely 1 pedal driving. This is good news, now I'm leaning toward the EQS SUV, comfort in seating is king! Glad to know about the sport seats, I was considering them as they look cool and thought they would be comfy. Thanks for the video, lot of good info.

How does this look like Sienna

Putting a rubber plug instead of a hinged cover over the DC ports, and the lack of a heat pump, seems out of place for such an expensive car.

As I saw the backdrop in the beginning I thought "I wonder where Thomas is this time as that looks a lot like Colorado..." And then he reveals it's Red Rocks open space near Denver! Great area, I hope you enjoyed the area and Colorado! Welcome, after the fact.

Another excellent review Thomas.I couldn't help but think that the air suspension test you showed around 4:50 could be reimagined as a way to shake a heavy snowfall off of your car! Who needs to carry a snow brush?!

I really appreciate and enjoy the amount of practical detail you put into your reviews. You're not doing a Mercedes commercial, you're showing us how well the car does some things, and some things not so well. The price puts this right in Tesla Model X range and, for the money, I'd choose the Mercedes. That interior is just gorgeous.

As a father of three and R 350 CDI 7-seater owner I can see so much R-Class in this EQS-SUV. Makes me happy to see the the idea of this ultimate family and travel car living on and going electric.

Thomas, I must agree, that third seat is virtually useless and totally unnecessary. In essence, a wagon version of the EQS with better rear seat room, cargo space and that can go off road. Very nice indeed.

Great review as always. Appreciate your honesty. No heat pump and the lack of descent recline in the back seats doesn't seem well thought out. I can't afford one anyway :)

I've been waiting for your review of this SUV. So disappointed with the EQS sedan especially the look of the exterior. I'm in the market for an EV for my next vehicle purchase and this one is up at the top of the list. Would probably go with Thomas Blue for exterior, dark interior along with the 5 seater and the night package. Might wait for your review of the Audi A6 E-Tron Sportback when it finally comes out before I make my final decision. You are my go to for EV reviews. Thank you Thomas for everything you do.

I would be quite annoyed at discovering I had paid for 10 degree rear wheel hardware which was disabled until forking out for a few lines of code

Hey Thomas, do you plan on reviewing the new Citroen C5X? I am a couple of days away of picking the car up, so I already made my decision, but it would have been so useful to see a review from you. Maybe other people are interested too. :)

Hi Thomas. I enjoy your videos very much. I hope you will find time to answer this even if it’s maybe simple, but I’m new to Mercedes. You mentioned in several videos on Mercedes’ EQ vehicles that you would like a heat pump. But what about pre-heating controlled by the Mercedes Me App? Isn’t it heating the battery and the cabin as a heat pump does? Cheers, Martin

Smth different. A heat pump makes heating the car in winter more efficient

Preheating of battery is about either driving the car before fast charging or intentionally warming up the battery before

Does the range cutting in half if it’s cold and snowing like for Tesla or did they put battery heater in it???

Regarding the 7seater. It makes a lot of sense for people that have many kids or want to drive with friends, that is also better ecology -wise. From about 6 to 12 years old kids can perfectly fit there and they need just a booster seat, no need for Isofix there.

Not a big fan of the EQS or SUVs in general but this generally is an improvement comapred to the EQS/EQE design wise. The front looks much sharper imo.

Before I get comments about the license plate saying Michigan. I saw… it’s Colorado. I’ve had way too much fun over the years in that exact spot he’s stand. And he said it was… hahaha 🤦🏽‍♂️

I have a GLS X166 used often to transport my family composed of 6 petsons I was waiting for the EQS SUV to replace it, but I will not do, 3rd row is to tiny on this car, I switched to X7 for my new car et for sure for next generation if exits in electric version (may be an iX7 such the iX1 and iX3)

I understand that you have been lobbying car manufacturers to include vegan leather or leather free options. I applaud you for that. I haven't eaten meat in years and don't wear leather, so cruelty-free, more sustainable alternatives are important for me and many others no doubt. Well done and your reviews are great. Do you have a German channel too? Ich bin Holländer und bin an der deutschen Grenze aufgewachsen und obwohl ich in Kanada lebe, benutze ich gerne mein Deutsch.

"That's not pleasant but it doesn't kill you", had me laughing so much. Lovely car but not a fan of the front end design, does not look premium, rear view looks good though.

Love the interior. There is some (potential) merit in the software unlocking of features. In their it could enable lower costs and fewer parts by building a car to one specification and then allowing the owner to turn on features. For example you could build a car with heated and cooled seats, I could then choose to pay for the heated seats for the coldest part of the year, then get rid of that and then subscribe to the cooled seats for the hottest time of the year. That kind of on/off subscription if offered could work well for some people. The manufacture might find it better to do that for revenue as the costs of a heated and cooled seat might be off putting as an outright purchase.

Thomas was probably 6 feet tall when he was 12, but there's a bunch of less vertically endowed people who can fit back in the third row for a pretty wide age range.

You only need 7 seats if you have four or five kids. If you have five kids you also always have some in the middle age for the backseats. And if you have a wife or a daughter they normally will not be 2m tall. So with a big family you need 7 seats and even the narrow seats will be helpful.

ooof, the white exterior with white interior is much better looking than dark! I wish we could get this car as a hybrid...btw, side steps get your pants dirty :)

Software locked features are BS. Thanks for calling it out Thomas, companies need to know that consumers dont like it at all.

Finally a Mercedes minivan!

Have you grown Thomas? 1.86 for years and now 1.89?

They don't make the 3rd row fold/unfold by a single button in a car this price is stupid, but I don't agree it is a design problem that they cannot be unfold easily from the trunk. If you need the 3rd row up for passenger, that passenger will enter by moving the 2nd row anyway, and hence unfolding there is the way to go. It is also more useful to say the 3rd row seats may not be usable for people above certain height instead of saying only good for kids/not good for adults. There are many adults/kids with different heights.

All eyes are on Tesla regarding (premium) EVs but Mercedes introduced an entire lineup of EVs in such a short amount of time! Impressive.
