He has gained so much previous fans from his past workplaces (review channels) - a large portion has came to this channel just for him. I'd say no one wants him to go top gear as its a washed up show now.

I agree. I generally like the Mercedes front design, especially on the S class. It almost seems like the Mercedes DNA is missing on this vehicle Edit: I’m questioning why they didn’t integrate some of the prior electric concept designs into this vehicle

kadir u. they're catering to the premium market, in that market mid size SUVs dominate. especially in China, where they love big Mercs. a model 3 competitor probably doesn't make sense to start with since a lot of people buy it for the economy. or they're new to luxury cars and want something somewhat premium and practical.

Finally an electric car review allowing the watcher to hear the inside of the car while being driven without annoying background music. Thank you. A down to earth test/review with what a regular user understands and cares about for an SUV, rather than endless performance stats. that a lost on most of us. Thanks.

there is no Rimac because his car costs 2 mil euro and nobody drove them except dummy hammond who crash it and its car are not for every day drive then for garage 99% of time of some rich assoles just like any other exotical vehicle

@goodfella21f no, rimac produces and sells a lot of electric car parts. The hybrid systems on the Aston Martin Valkyrie and the Koenigsegg Regera are made by Rimac. They helped on the Porsche Taycan (Porsche owns 15% of Rimac) and many more electric/hybrid vehicles

ye because the cars battery is based on "guess-o-meter" if you floor it like that it expects that you will drive like that for a longer time so the estimated range goes down quickly

@@MagwayaFan i think hes referring to the speadster test. I "broke down" several times. But that was not the case. As yesla is high tech they watched the logs and couldb't find any error. I even believe Musk suite Clarkson.

@@MagwayaFan they showed Tesla roadster to have run out of charge a few mins into their show. They also said it had multiple failures after that. The Tesla employee who dropped the car off chanced upon a pre written script which already determined they would show the car in bad light even before driving it. Their logs showed none of the problems alleged. Musk sued Clarkson but lost. He appealed and lost again. They argued that it was for entertainment. Clarkson said the court case was extremely stressful and vowed never to review Teslas. Until he was forced to review the model x in the grand tour.

It has a ICE variant, same with the B class too. But this EQC is electric only and doesn't have any ICE equivalent.

I think that was a very genuine review. Nice work. My dream car.

It's a nice car, but it got an 320km EPA range, Tesla model S got 600km EPA range. Also its smaller than the model Y but heavier than the model X.

Will Buy It any post 2015 Tesla interior, especially the premium option (Carbon fibre and alcantara) is as good as any luxury car. More importantly, the interior is smarter than any other luxury car.

Great review! Love the guy. The only thing I would add is that the electric drivetrain in the EQC is more quiet that even the Etron.

This guy is amazing... love how he takes a dig at all the Rally-pilot-wannabes journos. Haha, great fun videos. Best reviewer out there.

Roger Starkey you think consumers buy using logic? You’re sadly mistaken if they did then no one would buy European cars over a trusty toyota. You make good points but there is a reason why someone would buy a $200k Mercedes AMG V12 instead of a diesel hiace.

I need to know more about what goes into production of these videos. is there a gigantic writers team behind it, are there several camera operators we dont see? the production quality of this review was so great to see, and it stands out from your otherwise great reviews! i think this review worked so great because it felt dynamic and showed how the car would be used in daily life without explicitly saying thats what you were showing off.

Carwow's main business is price comparison for cars. You say what car you want and you get great offers from dealers so you don't have to do any negotiating at the dealership. There are about 240 people employed to do this and we have offices in UK, Germany and Spain. But we also provide written and video reviews of cars. I'm in charge of that department and have a team of 11 people - 6 are website writers and 5 do video filming and editing. For this particular video one of my writers compiled a fact sheet for me on the car - price, performance, battery etc. I then flew out with a cameraman with no idea what to film. We got there and made it up as we went along - me testing the car as I go and us coming up with how to illustrate stuff to you guys. All this took 6 hours. The film was then edited in 10 hours by the guy who shot it. Then we uploaded it. This is how it is on every launch video you watch. The in-depth reviews are slightly different as we shoot multiple cars at once. Same as drag races.

Tesla model X: well, i have wing doors Mercedes EQC: but you can't fly with them

Tyler Evans while I agree they made successful cars, they’ve not been a successful company, just look at their losses, and the fact they’ve never turned a profit. Theses are also facts. I hope this changes in the future but nothing in certain in the motor industry. EV cars may only be a stepping stone to a more sustainable clean energy such as hydrogen fuel cells

B- class chassis is Mercedes but everything under is Tesla. in the early years of tesla MB had 20% in the company and 20% had toyota.

I"m excited about the Mercedes EQC. I've driven a Tesla Model X for about 15 months. I'm sure hands down the Mercedes EQC will have a better fit and finish and feel more high end than the Model X. However, there are several "tech" areas where I think Mercedes EQC is way behind. The two big areas. 1. Autonomous driving: Now I don't use "navigate on autopilot" in my Tesla (I don't trust it enough yet) but I use regular "autopilot" every day on the interstate as I drive in stop and go traffic for about an hour to work. Other than resting your hand on the steering wheel, it does everything and has not made any mistakes. It's a true joy to drive like this and reduces the stress on me a good deal. From your review, I'm not sure Mercedes EQC is exactly at this point yet? Secondly, and this is a big one, over-the-air software updates. This is huge as the tesla is always improving. About a year ago, they updated so that the battery would pre-warm prior to getting to a supercharger. More recently they updated the "summon feature" which is quite useful and an update on the automatic windshield washers. Tesla feels like a computer because of this and I don't get the sense that the Mercedes or Porche EVs will have this. Regardless, my next car will again for sure be an EV but I would only buy something other than Tesla if they had these features.

I swear this guy should be a Top Gear presenter. Apart from the GT boys he is the best in this business, even better than Jason Cammisa

@@mjbakedbeans It is true that he stopped doing car reviews, but if you go to his instagram account you will find a post where he said to his fans this "If you think so too, go tell @motortrend that you want me to go fix Top Gear. If not I promise this is the last self-promotion garbage you'll hear from me. Let'get back to talking about cars." So he essentially resigned and now he wants a job back at his former employer. That doesn't sound good to me mate

For some chargers they will reduce output on busy moments or when both sides of pole are taken

My little Sisterhas just had one of these and i highjacked the keys tonight for a spin. Goes pretty well for a 2.5 tonne tank. Interior is nice and Merc mood lighting is top class. Really like it and im a thorough petrol head......

The Tesla Model X is not really a contender to much smaller, slower, lower range etc. Mercedes. Model Y will be. This review is unfortunately a click-bait.
