Can you put a little grease on the fitting to help it go back together?

Hi Keith, I did it dry, a little vacaline probably wouldn't hurt, but real important to let the parts fit together with ease, no forcing, check over that the clip is correctly aligned, part of my pre trip inspection, I use my torch and carefully look over the engine bay for anything out out order, lot easier to work at home than side of the road, haha, thanks very much for viewing and kind wishes

Hi there, ok, I guess they expected you to use the original clip. For me I had to remove hose to replace the thermostat, so I didn't need a new hose, I noticed the issue with the clip after driving a few days, I'm glad that I checked the engine and noticed it wasn't in position. Many thanks for viewing, kind regards John Lamb
