Oh okay. Never heard of anyone needing to replace headlights on a brand new vehicle unless it’s really old. I mean sure, if you wanna drive that thing until the year 2080, it could happen but that is irrelevant for 99%. I don’t get those „it’s expensive to maintain or fix“-comments: WHO HAS TECHNICAL ISSUES IN THE FIRST 7-8 YEARS WITH A BRAND NEW MERCEDES BENZ?

A 3 year old BMW with Laser light got moisture into the lights, because it wasn't a external damage the costumer had to replace it himself, 2500 dollars. That happened at the same time when I had a warranty job on my car. It's more Common then you think

The HUD does not do what this digital projection does. It also sounds like you don’t know what a HUD is for. It literally keeps your eyes on the road and not inside the car.

not really the same. I have a 2018 E class and a a 2014 CLS with matrix. The CLS headlights are much, MUCH brighter and better.

When audi made matrix smart headlights that could cut cars, people, etc. so as not to blind them, mercedes did not even dream that it could do such a thing, plus the dynamic signals that were also made by audi.

The dynamic turn signals are just a gimmick. It doesn't add anything to the car except aesthetics. Mercedes offers Multibeam LED for the A Class. You can't get Matrix LED on the comparable A3, not even as an extra. No matter who got it first, MB is in the lead. If you really want to talk about innovation and inventions and who got it first, lets talk about AWD, ABS, ESP, Air Bags, superchargers, crumble zones...

Also, this looks a lot like etron digital matrix headlights, actually almost feature by feature. So Audi R&D is ahead, as usual. I would tend to think though that the actual execution would be better with MB.

Making statements based on incorrect information is not so fair. ... just Selected the Matrix LED headlights option in the A3 car configurator. Dude, both lights you are talking about are made by the same lighting supplier 😂 They are just different products sold to different OEMs.

Brace yourself! Now even cheapo cars like dacia logan/sandero has factory led. I was blinded by one, i thought it was some douch with aftermarket xenons.. It's gonna be bad :(

You’re misinformed. These are the futuristic ones that actively dip/dim the beams so as “not” to blind you whether you are being followed or you’re the oncoming traffic! I believe you are referring to plug and play LED or HID bulbs that people put in a reflector housing that is not aligned to the beam pattern of the bulbs. Hence they always blind everyone!

Mine is a Subaru Forester with LED projectors and if it’s on an incline, the oncoming traffic will still be momentarily blinded as my Forester doesn’t have Matrix or Laser that’s supposed to deactivate the beam towards other cars. Maybe future software updates for LED matrix will make them deactivate faster? Either way I’m all for headlight tech progression!

I just figured out that mercedes cars are the best cars!!!!

Since the MercedesMe App that drives this will not be available in the U.S. until December 2024, how does one know if his car is equipped with this system? Can it be looked up by VIN or is there a code in the list of options bought? UPDATE: My 2023 C-43 has LED High Performance headlights, so not digital projection.

No they don't. Laws regulate the dazzling effect. If you have shitty lights or only one light then the car will struggle to detect the car.

@@Gabbbble well I have a German car with pixel LED. The only times people complain is when I'm going at the crest of a sloap but they're stupid. Otherwise I never get any complaints.

I own a w205, so basically one generation prior to this one in the Video. Mercedes should focus on build quality, instead of overengineered headlights. The thing is junk. Every hyundai would bring better quality nowadays. Damn shame

Nobody forces you, to buy something else than halogen equipped cars. But if you ever drove a car with xenon or adaptive led lighting, you can't take Halogen serious ever again. It's like a candle afterwards.
