''Stuttgart. Welcome to a new, even more digital and efficient world, and welcome home: the new C-Class stands for both, and in all respects creates a future-proof comfort zone in a time of worldwide transformation. As the first classic model series from Mercedes-Benz, the new C-Class is electrified throughout thanks to plug-in hybrids and mild hybrids with 48-volt technology and integrated starter-generator. Due to a high-efficiency battery system, it achieves an electric range of about 100 kilometres (WLTP1) as a plug-in hybrid. That is unprecedented in this category to date. It also sets standards with respect to sustainability. And because the C-Class is one of the company's highest-volume model series, this systematic electrification has a correspondingly strong effect on our carbonfootprint. Other technical refinements include optional features such as DIGITAL LIGHT and rear-axle steering. If only the the system could brake the car behind you as well to prevent rear collision.

Nope. These safety systems create a false sense of security, and encourage the owner to become lackadaisical and sloppy when he really needs to perform. Notice the automatic stopping test is not conducted in rain, or, the horror, snow.

I am a Lexus guy myself and never really been a Benz (with exception of S and G Classes they are art and amazing machines I will say) but the towing is most impressive and Bravo to the MB engineers, good work!

Very nice , I never thought I would like a station wagon, but the one attached to the trailer looks great.
My father who was driving tractor trailer in all kind of weather for 40+ years just said , after watching this with me : "people becoming more stupid" , and went to sleep. ... 😂

Have you ever noticed they never conduct these tests while it's snowing or raining heavily or after the car's been on a dirty dirt road. Every time you see one of these tests done or see the car in action it's always on a clear sunny day almost always in broad daylight. That's because they don't tell you how snow can block the sensor even regular road dirt and they don't tell you how the rain can also confuse the sensor. And they also don't tell you how expensive it is to service these sensors. That are notorious for going out of line or malfunctioning altogether. Even a slight tap to the front can totally damage the sensor. I've even heard speed bumps throwing them out of whack.

@Robert Davidson this car has not fully released yet so this is probably kinda like a prototype , and you expect people to risk getting themselves killed for a safety test , what if it didn’t work ?? , they are not employed by M.B are they , then why don't all cars companies put real people in safety test , there is a reason its called test , either you don’t have a fully functioning brain or you are a sociopath .

Of course snow or mud messes up the sensors but it's not like everyone drives on mud and snow. This systems are for everyday drivers and here in Germany the cars are usually clean. I drove these cars almost almost 150 000 kilometers and the rain rarely messed up the sensors. Anyways this assistance systems shouldn't be used in heavy rain. Speed bumps are not an issue but the road/lane irregularities or steep slopes are.

Its good in ideal conditions but I worry it will only encourage driver complacency and I wouldn't like to rely on this in anything less than ideal conditions
