    I bought one. Repaired some leaks on the return side fuel rail. Getting breakers and Romex this weekend. My loads are greater than yours, so I won't run central AC with it. She's a beauty. Thanks for the great, informative video.

    The fuse (Littelfuse Brand KLDR 3 (KLDR-3) 3 Amp (3 A) 600V Midget Time-Delay fuse) was added around 2009 and in service models were upgraded to eliminate stator burnout from rectifier failure in the voltage regulator The diodes didn't really have a high enough voltage rating for the occasional 400 volt spike from the Quad winding. If you put a MOV (part #14D151K Metal Oxide Varistor Dependent Resistor 150V 95VAC 125VDC) between pins 7 & 8 (marked QUAD) of the voltage regulator you will protect it from these spikes and prevent failure in the voltage regulator (they are sometimes hard to find and expensive). Also, from your video, it's unclear of where your ground wire from the generator is going. It should not go to the house panel where the neutral is bonded to the ground, unsafe voltages could circulate back into the generator case. You should have a very good ground for the generator AT/NEXT TO the generator and no connection to the house panel ground.

    So what your saying if I’m understanding you correctly- the ground wire coming from the generator should not be brought into the house/ panel at all and it should rather be hooked to the frame of the unit/case ground at the same spot as a ground rod /cable?

    Very cool video, need more like it. Watch out for wet stacking at that low load

    Run that unit at least 50% load or higher. I see guys running these things too long without a load. You don’t want wet stacking. I use an electric stove as a load bank. It won’t hurt it to run at max load.

    I don’t worry too much about wet stacking. It can absolutely run 100% loaded 100% of the time but as long as it has at least some load on it the exhaust gets hot enough to avoid wet stacking in my experience. It’ll run for thousands of hours with no problems as long as you don’t run it completely unloaded for extended periods of time.

    Just be carefull of "wet Stacking" your Generator ( operating with a very small load ). This can be a problem with all diesel generator and can lead to a premiture failure of the diesel engine.

    Hello Sir good evening/good morning, I saw your video on youtube regarding an MEP 802 generator, and was wondering if you know if that is the generator used for the ac unit ACE-802-392S and if not, if you know which generator(s) is/are used to power that ac unit.

    Justice - my wife and I are about to go fully off grid and set up a 48 volt off grid system. We need a dependable generator to power the inverters and charge controllers for (2) 2,000 amp hour batteries. I am wondering if a unit like this can provide the amount of battery we need to charge the battery bank(s).

  • @justicelee26

    @justicelee26

    I would recommend a generator that has a 2 wire start that can automatically start and charge your battery bank. For example you can have an all in one system start battery charging when the capacity is down to 10% and charge to 80%. My opinion is that for off grid I would go new for maximum dependability and ease of use.

    How does the sine wave look on one of those generators? Is it a pure sine wave or less than 5% total harmonic distortion ?

    It’s very good. This is a four pole unit. Military grade specs. Well shielded and quiet. I have the trailer mounted version. Best generator ever! Easy start up even in extreme cold. I bought a remote start for it.

    Military grade is pretty misleading. All that mage is out meets the lowest possible standards for the US military. These are milspec machines with an output that you would be hard pressed to differentiate from grid power. Being a diesel, it doesn't hunt much at all

  • @justicelee26

    Texas Law Dawg a grounding rod is not required if connected to your houses electrical panel because that panel already has a ground. The generator can be easily moved with a forklift but it can also be moved around using a winch if you can drag it or move it around on pipes.

    How long will it run on a full tank of fuel?

  • @justicelee26

    @justicelee26

    4 жыл бұрын

    It depends on loading. It will run about 24 hours on a full tank powering my house and 10 hours fully loaded. I have a 100 gallon aux fuel tank attached now and it will automatically fill the internal tank when it gets down to a quarter full. With the aux fuel tank it will run for several weeks if I use it right.
