For those who do not need a full 15KW and want the smaller 5KW, the equivalent is often found surplus as used rental light tower inventory. Light towers are single phase which suits my needs better and are 120/240 volt with a 6KW generator. Most are listed as 6KW on an Izusu or Perkins 3 cylinder diesel. Most come equipped with no convenience outlet or a 15A outlet. Some come equipped with a 240V 30A outlet as an option. Often you can buy the option kit from the manufacture. I picked up a used rental Genie TML-4000n with just over 1100 hours and sun faded paint. Got it at auction for under $1000 recently serviced, full of fuel, and ready to use. Installed the option kit and use it for both emergencies and live events to power the sound stage. The tower is handy for the night before the event setup and after event teardown. During the event, turn off the 4KW of lights and power the event stage. As mentioned in the video, the 30 gallon fuel tank onboard will run for well over 60 hours for the event without a refueling. I don't even take a fuel can to events. Fill it at a gas station on the way home from an event and it is fueled ready for use.

@@dougnashz For stage monitors a set of 4 Macke SRM-450 powered speakers, for FOH set of 4 15 inch VM (Rental, not sure which) powered by 4 KSC 800 Watt amps, or a set of KLH EON-1500 speakers for smaller half field events. For down field coverage, 4 more Mackie SRM-450 powered speakers. Depending on the show, the desk was a Mackie VLZ 32/4 or a Berhinger 32 ch digital. Lighting was 6 LED par wash RGBW at 70 watts each. This was for fundraisers with live bands and canned music. Mics were mostly Shure SM58's, SM57s for instruments, and a 7 piece drum mike kit. To keep it neighborhood friendly at the school, it was not built out or run as a rock concert. Power monitor on the generator showed peaks to about 5KW for the louder bands. A Hawaiian band with mostly acoustic ran as little as 300 Watts of power consumption. Love the high efficiency LED lighting and class D amplifiers for running on a generator. They make less heat, use less power, and deliver more of the power.

The real reason this gentleman changes his oil at 100 hour intervals is that he loves his engines, I'm the same, I might try to rationalise by saying to myself that it's good for the engine but the real reason is just that we love our engines!

I would like to see and hear the explanation of hooking these gensets up in parallel for carrying heavier and/or highly variable loads, and what kind of combinations they can do, like _5 kW as the Master_ and _15 kW as the slave,_ if that configuration is possible. Maybe they all have to be the same kW, or even the same model? Also, how many can be run in parallel.

Most of them with the electric fuel pump will run the pump before starting and fill the fuel rail. Those with a mechanical fuel pump have a lever on the fuel pump to hand pump prior to starting. In bad cases of totally out of fuel, you can loosen the fuel lines at the injectors and runt the fuel pump to blow out the air until the fuel leaks out at the injectors, then tighten back up. Most of the time if it isn't listed, it is pretty automatic for the injection. If the fuel pump won't pull a prime when the outlet is loose to bleed air, the pump is bad, or has a bad air leak in the fuel line to the pump.

U mind as well be using a 10kw unit if your only using it for single phase. The 804 and up do not produce 240@60 hz. They produce 120/208. 240 is for the European setting but then you don't get 120 anymore. You get 240/416@50hz
