Thanks! Battle short is a switch that eliminates all of the safety cut offs on the gen set. (low oil pressure, over current, over temp, etc)

Got one several years ago with 5 hours on it - now has a few hundred and running like a top. Powers our 2600 square foot house with a well also can use a (1) 2ton ac unit.

I lived off of one of these things in Iraq you don't need a pump for the auxiliary fuel just put the hose in a barrel it will pump the fuel itself

You're saying run a hose from the auxiliary nipple? It does have two fuel pumps. It has the main pump and an auxiliary fuel pump

  • @travisruble6873

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow once you plug and and switch it to the auxiliary fuel it will pull from that nipple and keep the built in tank full, I think it does it by vacuum. We would just keep a 55 gallon barrel full at the same level of the generator the auxiliary fuel kit was just a fuel hose that would tapped on to that nipple and we would just put it in thur top of the barrel with no pump. the hose usually was kept in one of those side compartments.

@@travisruble6873 the main fuel pump runs at all times. And when you have it in auxiliary mode there is a secondary pump that kicks on when the fuel level hits a certain level. I forget what exact level that is. Maybe half tank. In that secondary pump fills back up the main tank with your auxiliary fuel source. So if that pump fails it will not continue to fill itself. I've worked on many of these. I have the mep-803a now

@@travisruble6873 definitely great heavy duty units, my only gripe is that they run really dirty and stinky. Also parts are pretty hard to get as a civilian for these. And pricey

I just changed the oil and oil filter ensured oil reservoirs was filled appropriately per the oil dipstick. Ensured the oil filter was filled as well. After completing the oil filter/ oil change I went and tried to start it and it wouldn’t even turn over. All gauges are operational prior to turning the switch to start. I am not sure where to go from here the generator operated great and started perfectly prior to me doing the oil and oil filter change.

That's weird. Did you maybe bump the switch in the engine compartment? There is a three-way switch. Off, run, crank.

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow are you referring to the dead crank switch? If so I did not touch it, it is always in the off position.

Yes that switch. If it's in the off position the engine won't start. Try putting it in the other position

Hi I have two of the same generators that I am trying to get running. All of the wiring and parts seem to be there and both engines turn over. However the coolant hoses are both broken and Mixed up, could I get a photo to see how they are suppose to look ? Thank you.

this generator would be great for powering a mobile PA soundsystem in places where 220v grid power is unavailable or too weak for supplying the audio system :)

It can produce both single phase AC and 3 phase AC as I understand it. I am looking to purchase one and am wondering how I would set it up to produce single phase 240V AC for my home?

There is a phase selector switch behind the main control panel. 240v single phase is no problem

Clarissa W I bought this one for $500. They go for various prices depending on the time of the year and the location of the base in which they are. I have since sold this one and I picked up for mep-803a units down in Georgia for about $900 each. Those ones were much rougher though and I didn't make out that great on the deal but I did end up with 1 free mep-803a in the end
