Praise report! Positive birth story! I've been watching and learning from you for about a year now and I took all of your wisdom and prepared myself for the birth that I wanted. My first birth was induced and very painful. It took forever and even after 2 rounds of an epidural (that I never wanted) I still felt everything on one side of my body. I knew that I wanted a completely different experience with my second daughter and thanks to the Lord and YOU, I had just that! I gave birth to a sweet baby girl on May 28th and it was perfect! Thank you so much for basically being my doula and virtual bestie! Here's my story... I want to share her incredible birth story, but first I have to share what I prayed for, regarding my labor. God is SO good and SO REAL! I seriously couldn't make this up if I tried... One of my biggest prayers was to have a natural unmedicated labor. I asked God to let me go into labor naturally without induction and to labor at home as long as I possibly could. I also prayed for a quick peaceful delivery with no interventions. And the last thing I prayed for was to not have to give birth on my back. If you're not familiar with how hospital births work, just know that these requests I made to the Lord were a bit unrealistic according to the world's "realistic" standards in regards to hospital births. However, I trusted God completely and prepared my body for the things that I wanted. My last pregnancy was difficult and I had a very different experience, having an induction, epidural (which didn't even work), and a 2 day labor plus 3 day stay in the hospital. I knew that a hospital birth was the best option for us at this time, but I also knew that I could have the birth I wanted if I trusted God and did the work. So Monday evening around 6pm I started having contractions. I had actually been having them for days, but these were definitely more consistent. Earlier in the day, I took a long walk, bounced on my birthing ball, and had Eric give me an acupressure message. Once the contractions started, they stayed pretty mild until around 11pm, which is when they got pretty intense, but still bearable. By 1am, they were VERY intense and about 9 minutes apart, so I called the hospital to see if it would be a good idea to come in. The nurse said it was up to me, but the general rule of thumb was 5 to 6 minutes apart. I knew this, but they were so intense, I just wanted to be sure lol. So I labored another hour at home and suddenly they were 6 minutes apart and even more INTENSE. We decided to get ready to go. By this time, it was almost 2am and we still had to drop Ivy off at my best friend's house (who's right down the road from the hospital). For some reason, I decided it was a good time to cut up fruit and make snacks for Ivy and pack a few last minute things lol That all took another hour and as I'm doing this, I'm stopping about every minute to breathe through a contraction, which had become even more intense😂 We get out the door by almost 3am and drop Ivy off. I had about 7 to 10 more contractions on the way. We get to the hospital and I had 3 more knee buckling contractions on our way to the 2nd floor. I get checked in and my cervix was checked. They said I was dilated to a 7. They were wrong. Once I get up to my room, all the nurses, except 1, had been called away for an emergency. My doctor was on her way, but hadn't made it to the hospital yet. There I was in the room with just Eric and one nurse. I had another contraction that felt like I was gonna poop my pants (tmi sorry) lol I had another contraction and I yelled SHE'S COMING! I had one more contraction and as I layed on my side, holding the bed rails, I said I NEED TO PUSH!! Eric noticed Lily's head and grabbed my leg. And with a big shout, she was out! No water breaking or anything! Yep, she was born in her sack, which broke upon her arrival. No doctor, no meds, no laying on my back. Just me, God, my awesome husband and 1 very shocked nurse! Lol All within 20 minutes of my arrival to the hospital! We are all doing good and we're released the very next morning🙌🏽 GOD IS SO GOOD!

I’m 35 weeks with my first - I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos and learning more about mental preparation, natural birthing strategies, etc. I really, really want to become a less easily-stressed / anxious person. I am a Christian as well, and I love the Lord. I just for some reason have always struggled with feeling stressed out by life, just all the everyday things you have to deal with, let alone anything truly challenging lol. I have tended to worry a lot about being a mom and being able to handle the feelings of labor, the lack of sleep & breastfeeding, raising a child successfully, etc. I know I need to focus more on the positive, thinking & assuming things will go well and if they don’t, I’ll still get through it and God will help me. I need more strategies for getting myself to relax & just enjoy all the little things in life more, instead of constantly having a to-do list in my head or feeling like I’m not doing enough.

I needed this … my birthing center told me that I’m no longer able to birth there due to them thinking baby will be big and it absolutely broke my heart … cause my first birth was in hospital and was very traumatic for me … so I was so excited and happy I was setting myself up to avoid the hospital and have more control of my birth experience this time …now I’m trying to work through the fear of birthing in a hospital again 😢 and it’s been sooo hard …

You are not alone!! I had a traumatic first birth also, and I did everything in my power to set things up differently for this one. And while I feel physically better this time, everything is set at the same hospital despite my DESPERATE efforts to get into a birth center. It seriously is so hard. I feel you - there is so much fear to work through. When are you due?

What about birthing at home? Do you have any midwifery practices near you? That’s how we are bringing our son into this world. We did it with our daughter about 3 years ago. Such a great experience.
