Thank you for having the courage to share your success story. I lost 72 pounds. My goal is to lose 60. Hearing your story encourages and motivates me to continue on my journey. You are fabulous!!!🌟🌟🌟
I hope This time I can release my traumas I might carry since my teens and lose weight in. Better way than any kind of nonsense diet and extreme cardio workouts which further damaged my body, hormones, added more into my body image issues. I pray everyone heals with whatever they've been dealing with We all deserve to be loved and worthy of it ❤️
Thank you so much for your videos....I saw a vid yesterday on my timeline, watched a few and looked at your Instagram. I love your vulnerability and honesty. You are helping more than you could possibly know. I needed this. Wishing you happiness and success in the future :) ⭐

Thank you for your courage and your sharing. I previously had not realized the connection and complexity of my (317 lbs - 217 lbs so far) eight loss journey. It sheds clarity on my own journey. No one on my journey ever explained it to me like this until now. It makes so much sense unlike the ‘diet. If you’re not successful it’s because you’re lazy with weak will power and probably stupid ( inferred)’ over and over. Judgement from family members, doctors and strangers. With repatriation it makes everything worse, much worse. Your knowledge and compassion help give direction to those making pilgrims out of those merely lost. Your reflection is very helpful. Thank you.

There can be so much shame placed upon us by people who have never been in our position. A shame that is not helpful, nor warranted. I was so lucky to have a doctor who waited for me to be ready, never pressured me or patronised me, but there have been hundreds of others. Instead of shaming us, I hope they will learn compassion and kindness and wait until we are ready. Thank you so much for your lovely comment Robert 🙏🏻
I have been binge watching your videos every night for the past few weeks and I am currently down my first 10 pounds! I love how vulnerable and honest you are, and that you are approaching weight loss with kindness to yourself instead of restriction, punishment and shame. I have adopted your mental approach and have tried out doing the hour of brisk walking everyday for a few days now. My body is so sore (I honestly wasn’t expecting that from just walking) but I find myself craving it now. It also gives me a break from my toddler which is a bonus 😅 Your content fuels me to take an active part in my wellbeing and health, it has forced me to take a look at my own childhood trauma and the void in my stomach I was constantly filling with food. I honestly didn’t even realize that was what it was until I came across your videos! I now allow myself to feel that pit in my stomach, and get comfortable with its presence, while letting myself go through the waves of emotions that come along with feeling the feelings I’ve spent my whole life avoiding. It’s painful at times, but so incredibly freeing! I’m doing somatic exercises along with calorie counting and walking, and it has helped me a lot to process the emotions as well. Anyways, just wanted to say thank you! Sincerely, a big fan from Oregon ❤️
This gives me so much hope. I have only had two sessions of therapy - I noticed today I am having a lot less food noise. I have a lot of trauma I am working on. I hope this helps me live a healthier physical and mental life
I’m trying to work through some similar things, and I’m crying as I listen to your journey. Thank you again for sharing. I’m sure there are trolls who may be hurtful: I hope you can ignore them so you can continue to help others. 💐

Your channel has been a Godsend!! I'm 55 and have been battling this my whole life. When I first heard you bring up somatic therapy and the mind body connection, something finally clicked. For the first time I am learning to be IN my body and to confront what I have been running from. Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability.

This was such a helpful video for me. I've always known I eat to escape the negative self talk rooted in trauma, but I've never thought about it in terms of the inner child making my food (and frankly alcohol) decisions. This framing has given me a lot to think about and I'm going to look into mind-body therapy myself. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
absolutely love the openness
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just catching up on old posts and loved this one. I smiled when you said you were 9 months pregnant because you have been enjoying your beautiful son in the recent vlogs ❤ I had a very successful weight loss and maintenance journey in the past two years and it was my mind set and mental health work that made the difference this time. Thanks Carla!
Thanks for being so open about your own struggles to help others ❤️

I really love how open and real you are, you are a great help to many people! When I was on my initial weight loss journey, I would have loved to have had you as a resource to learn from. You are very inspirational! Its wonderful to see all these kind comments on your channel, you deserve it! During my weight loss, people would come up to me and my trainer at the gym and say the most off the wall comments. Comments to my trainer, while I was doing reps on a machine, inquiring that if I was going to have a lot of loose skin with all the weight I was loosing. Implying that I was going to need plastic surgery. BTW, didn't need it but even if I did, that is a very personal question.
This was very helpful. Tank you!🙂💫
Yet again, very insightful and your philosophy about healing your (our) inner child can be applied to many mental health journeys 🌟✨

This is such a great video! Honest and so real. I am currently on my inner child healing journey. Emotional eating has been a coping mechanism for me my whole life and I’m in my mid 30’s. So I so feel this video. Getting to the emotions and healing within is the way to go with weight loss. Thank you for this video!❤️
Thank you for this video, because my CPTSD is my biggest struggle in life and my biggest struggle in weightloss.
Thank you for sharing. It is inspiring and supporting to many of us. ❤️
🌟 Great video, might do a little bit of mind/body work Carla, topping up is really helpful at times. When you realise the child is speaking, it's an honour to love and develop and support that beautiful part of you, often in all their rawness, till they find a place of peace and contentment ❤

Oh my i am beyond words grateful to have found you and your beautiful story!!!!!! Never have I made the connection UNTIL HEARING YOU TODAY ♥️😭♥️😭♥️😭 (not sad tears!!! Relieved tears!!!) I never could understand why i would panic on the inside if when we went somewhere…I HAD to have some sort of snack in the car….now i know♥️ for me it wasn’t fear of being hungry-which I thought….no no no it was fear of not having a “coping” mechanism. What if…I get somewhere and I can’t comfort myself!!!! Oh tears down my face grateful!!! 2ndly- making decisions based off child emotions OR from logical Adult… 3rd…I could never understand why I couldn’t be CONSISTENT…for me i now know..my inner child has been calling the shots of my 64 yr old life…wow soooograteful to “see” this. Thank you a thousand times over for sharing your transparent ♥️ journey!!!! All Gods best to you and yours.

Really great video and thank you for being so honest about your experience. I hope baby has arrived safe and soundly by now and you are enjoying being a mum! May I please just ask you how you dealt with walking in the winter months when it gets dark so early. Were you still comfortable walking by the seaside or did you have someone to come with you? I work mostly from home these days and love yoga but recently found that my body does not like yoga the way my mind does. So I think walking would be the better option but we're still mid January so there are quite a few dark evenings ahead. Obviously weekends are easy because I can walk when it's light outside. Sending many good wishes and many thanks for your advice in advance.

I find your channel and videos are life changing! I am 66 been in therapy since I was 40. All kinds of different methods. Most of it useless. I finally have some one I trust. He says I actually have brain damage from a whole life of non stop trauma. He suggested trauma therapy online. I am agoraphobic so online is my option. I'm looking for a group. I'm curious were you VEGAN before you began your weightloss journey? Thank you so much for these brilliant content much love and respect 💙🦋💙

Wow, I'm so glad you've found someone that you can trust and that is working for you. That's the most important thing 🖤 I was plant based for about a year before and some kind of vegetarian/vegan/pescatarian mix for about the last 12 years xx
Hopefully, this helps others out there
Do you continue to go to therapy? Or do you feel like once you got to a good place you didn't need to go anymore? Also do you continue to do inner child work? Or do you focus on your adult self or do you not do any mental work any more? Thank you so much for sharing. Ive always loved food since I can remember, my dad loved food too I think in a way it may be genetic. My brother on the other hand is a lot like my mom and they don't really care for food they eat but its not a big deal at all where as my dad and I really enjoyed food for us it was sooo delicious so I think there's that. I think the fact that I seem to have very sensitive taste buds that seem to get over stimulated with food led to a food addiction. Then I used that food addiction to cope with sadness, boredom worry fear ect. The way Ive been working on it is by learning to identify my bodys hunger cues and knowing that food will not sooth any emotion. If Im not truly hungry and instead feel uncomfortable and am trying to avoid it I will spend a few moments with my feeling letting it pass. I will ask my self what I really need in that moment and I will listen it will either be to rest, nap, spend a few moments in silence, hug my self ect. Its getting easier and easier to learn to sooth my self with what I really need instead of covering it up with food. I think self love and self worth are at the core of everything so I definitely agree that once you start prioritizing your self and your well being everything starts falling into place. Im dealing with my daddy's passing and its been the absolute worse time of my life he was the best dad in the world and I miss him so much it hurts every day, to the point where I didn't want to be here any more. But I know food will not fix that I know only facing what Im feeling will and that's what has been helping me the more. I wish you the best in your pregnancy. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Thank you for sharing! I was wondering if you have always been vegan or was that something you started when you started body slims? Thank you⭐️
