Mental Health and Journey to the Podium

We recorded this session as part of our support for UK Anti-Doping and Clean Sport Week - a week that is all about promoting all things fair play, honest and integrity in sport.
In 2024, Clean Sport Week coincided with Mental Health Awareness Week. This and with Paris 2024 rapidly approached inspired UKAD to theme this year’s Clean Sport Week as ‘The Journey to the Podium’.
So we wanted to explore this further in this discussion session, by bringing together a discussion on sports psychology and athletes journeys.
We have Dr. Clare Churchman, sports and clinical psychologist, Ella Cohen, England lacrosse player, and Ryan Lowther, Olympic weightlifter who also works with athletes in his daytime career.
Across this session we discussed motivation, drive, habits, perspective, the concept of 'balance', and so much more.
Thank you Clare, Ella and Ryan for your insights, and sharing experiences and perspectives.
Whether you are an athlete, work with athletes, or have a drive to perform in your own careers and studies, this episode will be of huge value and interest.
Thanks for listening!
