    Very beautiful playing, and Mendelssohn himself would have approved of Mr. Schütz using the sheet music as he did not like musicians performing from memory. Very good tempo in the first movement which often is spoiled by a tempo much faster than Allegro.

    Wieniawski pieces would be hard to transcribe because he wrote violin pieces that went well above the flute’s range

    No where near as communicative as Jasmine. He did not even memorise the music. For concerto performance, this is basic!

    da96103 embouchures are different for many flutists. I've known many that play with the corners of their mouth down. It helps with tone.

    Jasmine's interpretation will always be my favorite, Denis Bourakov is my 2nd. This was was just all fingers and too much power on some of the mellow parts of the 1st movements.

    @@tomtashakinko6791 Sorry but just because someone else prefers a different rendition of a piece doesnt mean they have no knowledge of the flute. Jasmine had it all, DYNAMIC RANGE, delicacy, wonderful phrasing, power, projection and balance with the orchestra, and wonderful musicianship. This performance was excellent if it were written in FF the entire the way, but it's not. The low notes were just too loud on some of the mellow parts(very high school like). Just fingers to me.

    연주도 훌륭하고 음악도 넘 좋은데 이 곡은 바이올린이 긁어주는 맛이 있어야 더 곡의 매력이 살아나는것같아요.. 곡 자체가 바이올린의 음색이 훨씬 더 잘 어울리고 완성도가 올라가는 곡인데 왜 플루티스트들이 이곡을 하는지 개인적으로는 이해가 안가요.. 분명 다른 이유와 매력이 있을텐데 들어도들어도 바이올린 보러가고싶어지는 플룻멘델스존ㅎ 그치만 칼하인즈슈츠는 좋습니다

    Andras Adorjan has been the first flutist to play the Popp's version of this masterpiece of Mendelssohn. Everyone should know his fantastic interpretation.

    Ya, the guy is a pro flutist but Jazmine Choi plays the WHOLE concerto without the benefit of sheet music. So he's good, but Jasmine is better. Joe Magnets

    Mendelssohn did not approve of performing from memory. Once, when he was performing himself he had forgotten his sheet music and borrowed something else to put on the piano in order that the audience could not see he was performing from memory. Chopin did not like it either.

    The version heard here is a very close approximation of the original violin version, which the composer wrote out every single note.

    lol, do you know this piece at ALL? He literally just played exactly what was written. It is not an improvised cadenza, Mendelssohn literally wrote every note. Try again.
