I love Baroque music, Vivaldi is probably my favourite composer. Marlene's rendition is just superb, such expression!

This performance of the Vivaldi is so “Venetian” - just beautifully elegant and expressive but at the same time always so beautiful in tone and colour. I really like here the musically accomplished work of both the soloist Marlene Ngalissamy who is playing one of my absolutely favourite instruments with such lovely lyrical phrasing and care for best qualities of the music. I find this a memorable performance and people need to take note of this initiative taking place in Ontario which is really making a difference at many levels.

My favourite interpreter of this concerto is Klaus Thunemann, hard to beat. This young lady's performance is pretty damn close!!!! Brava.

Marlene sounds incredible

This has always been one of my favorite all time pieces. My mother was a violinist in orchestras around the world so I've always been partial to strings, but the Bassoon is right up there as all time favorite instruments. My mother also loved this piece and she said that if she had gone with winds she would've picked this wonderful instrument.

This music work of bassoon of Vivaldi is one of my favorite melodies in the classic world and it was played excellently. The artist had a good technic and nuance as well. Bravo. Plus, the orchestra was excellent, too. Thanks for uploading.

This is so lovely!

Wow. A stunning performance. I think is the best example of musicianship, and an understanding of this piece, I have ever heard. Superb technique, but qutie a few bassoonists have that. But not this level of "old soul" musicianship. Another aspect is that she tends to play "with" the orchestra rather than on top of it and even almost a playful technique at times (Sort of like how Dennis Brains played horn concertos.)

Ich bin verliebt in diesem Musikstück von Vivaldi. Bereits habe ich mehr als hundert Mal das Stück gehört und genossen. Ausserdem glaube ich dass, die Fagottistin sehr gut geschafft und aufgeführt hat. Ihr Instrument klingt sehr schön. Die Orchester und die Fagottistin haben gut geschafft. Großartig! Prima! ❤❤❤

The bass notes of the Almenraeder/Heckel type of bassoon are so strongly reminiscent of what one imagines a wooden saxophone might sound like. So unsuited to the clean lines of Vivaldi's music.

The bassoon is such a cool sounding instrument, but i would think it would be a little awkward to play standing up.
