Men Wearing Ladies Perfume? WTF!!! Collab W/ Lanier
Men wearing ladies Perfume? Yes it's doable because perfume has no gender. You really can wear ladies targeted scents there should not be any questions asked. Lanier and I discuss 5 perfumes each in our collection that are targeted to ladies that we both wear in our fragrance rotation. We picked 5 each but that does not mean there are only 10 scents there are hundreds and Lanier and I are offering up 5 scents each.
If you like the way something smells, the latest and great designer release targeted to ladies and you love the scent by all means wear the perfume. There's just no gender in perfumes.
If you look at all the niche brands releasing scents for years which are targeted to both sexes but you'll mostly find sex specific scents released by the designers. It is changing though, designers are slowly turning around and are releasing unisex fragrances and perfumes.

+Lanier Smith, You really sparked my interest with your Shalimar Pure Parfum but I'm pretty confused on which one to look for because there's so many. I saw one on the Neiman Marcus website that was $350 for 1 oz. does this sound like the right one? Also, does it matter if I get it from Neimans' or should I look for a 1967 bottle. Any guidance will be very much appreciated. :)

The one on Neimans for $350 ...the Extract is the pure Parfum... As for the 1967 bottle ... I don't know...it depends on how it was stored if it will be any good now. I would say save your pennies and get the one at Neiman Marcus.

Incredible video! I absolutely love it. I wear and love most of these aside from costume national and the Caron fragrance only because I haven’t gotten my nose on them and the Prada is very nice but I’ve only smelled it a couple of times and the Tom Ford is not my thing (at least not currently). POAL is an absolute masterpiece to me and extremely unisex even leaning more masculine in my opinion and actually on skin all of these lean more masculine to me and to those around me. Shalimar in all its concentrations is an absolute masterpiece once tried on skin. Coco as well. But out of all of these... all I have to say is Mitsouko extrait and L’Heure Bleue extrait. Everyone from co-workers to my girlfriend thought they were modern niche fragrances when I’ve worn them and everyone whether male or female, young or old said that they would even wear it (aside from my mom who said they smelled like her grandma because she used to wear both lol). I just ordered Mitsouko EDP to see if it does the same. Let’s just talk about Mitsouko for now, it absolutely HAS to be tried on skin! It is the most modern and masculine, vintage “feminine” work of art when put on skin and it really takes you on an olfactive journey. It’s a delicious, gourmand peach but it’s not really all that sweet. The texture of eating a peach is there with spices like cloves and cinnamon but it’s not an overly sweet peach it’s hard to explain. It also has a nutty feel to it. Anyway I’m getting carried away because this along with l’heure Bleue extrait have been the greatest perfume and art discoveries of my life to date. Have you tried the Mitsouko EDP on skin yet? If so please try the Extrait of mitsouko and l’heure Bleue on skin because believe me you’re in for an incredible journey. If and when you do please let me know your thoughts on them and if you can please make a video. They deserve more than a first impression because they really develop on skin. Anyway I hope to hear from you soon.

Great review, gentlemen!I've been being a gender bender myself since 1989 (was 18 y.o.) when I discovered Mitsouko. I mostly wore Santos in these good old days. Now, I'm still wearing mitsouko but added Youth Dew, Shalimar (both EDP & perfume), Chanel N°5 (batches from before 2013), Chanel N°19 EDP, Cristalle EDT, Coco EDP & EDT, Soir de Lune from Sisley, Habanita from Molinard.Genders are XXs century marketing! Not more, not less.Wear what makes you feel good, confident!

Great video and cool idea. My perspective is that I do believe there is such a thing as a gender based scent. The same way we have developed gender based hair styles, or clothing, or behaviors. However, I do believe that marketing can be off.. And that fragrances can be aimed towards women but really be unisex or masculine and vice versa. There is always a large grey area, but at the end of the day people should wear what they enjoy. Great video guys.

An excellent concept video, for sure! You know, I really haven't given much thought to the women's fragrances I have that men *Should* wear...but, off the top of my head, Tom Ford Black Orchid (for an elegant and strong gentleman), Tom Ford Sahara Noir (the smell of a manly man administering beatdowns...or snugglin' with the girls, it's difficult to tell), Chantecaille Kalimantan (the sexiest women's Winter fragrance...also can be rocked by dudes) and Gres Cabochard...smells great and will put hair on your chest. Great stuff and I enjoyed the outtakes.

The older I've got, the more so I've explored women's perfumes as well. I like heavy warm orientals. My favorite women's fragrances I personally wear are Coco by Chanel, YSL Opium, Estee Lauder Youth-Dew and Estee Lauder Cinnabar. To me they're very masculine, albeit old fashioned and a bit dated. For the past few years I live in a hot and humid climate, and I don't get to wear these often. I also own Guerlain Mitsuko and Shalimar but Samsara is my favorite. Both CK Obsession for men and women as well as Mugler Angel/A*Men are totally genderless to me. Sometimes I layer them. I've even tried a vintage bottle of 1980s Giorgio Beverly Hills (for women) and I've never received so many compliments.

If your sold on Shalimar by Guerlain, I suggest another Jacque Guerlain composition VOL DE NUIT Extrait is my favorite. I have worn this for at least 35 years. A great leather note with slight vanillic dry down. A woman in an elevator once asked me what I was wearing, she wanted it for her husband. I sheepishly told the truth, she then changed her statement saying she would get it for herself. Shalimar extrait is great for a gasoline note in the high notes at the beginning. If you work with engines you'll pick it up. Sexy.
