I don't like how short each run is.. it puts to much stress and pressure on the skater to try and force out as many tricks as possible In a couple of minutes.. this makes the quality of tricks and creativity go down when the skater is more focused on the extremely limited time they have during their run.. xgames should rethink the way they set up this event for street skating because the fans and skaters are definitely losing out on seeing each skaters full potential and diverse bag of tricks.

Because people like Brandon Graham clearly are disconnected with the vast majority of skateboarding. Making claims like "perhaps the gnarliest next generation of street skateboarding", when he is clearly unaware of the current landscape will garner disapproval. Especially from those actually in the industry at large. X-Games has the resources to put someone with previous elite level talent and a charismatic voice into this position. They have enough funds to option out some dweeb like Graham. Gary is Gary. He's relatively funny yet has to change his own character he molded into, through Metro's media, to make it friendly for corporate media. Which, in turn, comes off a bit corny and forced. I get X-Games and SLS require this wall of positive noise for the sake of viewer engagement, but audiences pointing out disingenuous traits isn't always "hate". In fact, most companies would actually survey their target demographics to get a fundamental understanding of how their product is externally viewed.

Thanks so much, X-Games. I remember when I first started watching the X-Games back in 1997, you were stoked if you caught any event after school or on the weekend, Parks Bonifay on the wakeboard or some in-line on the very ramp, but now it’s so nice to be able to see my favorite sport on KZread when I get off work. The park was rad and the line up of pros cannot get any better. These are all some of the most talented skateboarders on the planet and we are lucky to see them skate here. If I may give some feedback, I want to say, I do think Gary can be more professional or educated sounding about the tricks.

Most Incredible SkatePark for X Games Ever

Man this course is pretty sweet! If it had a little bigger "big set" or the double set didnt kill the flow of a run so bad it wld be top notch IMO! If X-Games has new owners or something they shld really take note of the SLS Format! Thats why I say a "big set" is needed, the double set is close tho! I thght it was a 4 flat 4 but just saw its like what a 6 flat 4? So maybe it does count as a "big section" just seems hard to get to in the lines. I think to be part of the Olympics it has to be more like SLS format w run section and single trick section! I also just thought about some of the tricks people wld do off the 2nd story part on this course! So really the one thing that wld make this contest next level is the format! With only 16 skaters I wld love to see a 16 skater Final then maybe a final stage where the top 4 skaters get 3 more trick attempts and like add one score but replace any of the other best trick scores! Like the tried to do in SLS Finals last year! I wasnt a fan of the extra section last year but w 16 skaters wld work real good IMO! Just always seems like such a waste to only get 2 runs! Plus it makes everyone worry too much about falling! This is a good course for runs but yeah, just seems like this wld really up the level of skatin!

Honestly I think Gary's a fun commentator. Its cool to see that he's good friends with all the skaters. And because he knows them outside of the competition, i think that's why he tends to vier off topic sometimes lol. But he's a huge contrast from the typical announcers who basically repeat the same thing about every competitor in the competition each time they do their run. Plus other people in the comments saying they feel bad that the other announcer has to deal with Gary. Bruh, every time they show they're reactions, it looks like they're having a good time.

You don't want a commentator to comment the same things? Me too. Tell Gary that he doesn't have to talk about how everyone isn't dressed cool like him and to stop just ranting about how great Ishod is for never planning his lines, etc. I've honestly skated for 15 years now and every single contest I have watched he has said the same things at every event. Multiple times at those events too. He is obnoxious and that's his shtick. He excites the little kids that don't understand what's going on but like random loud noises with unnecessary, exaggerated gestures. He is the jester of skateboarding

There's a time and a place. Personally I'd prefer if they had someone like Chris Cole or Geoff Rowley as the analyst instead of Gary. The two examples I gave (Chris and Geoff) tend to give more insight and substance into what's going on in the actual heat compared to Gary.
