Men's Long Jump Final | World Athletics Championships Doha 2019
Спорт
While many in Doha anticipated the coronation of rising long jump star Juan Miguel Echevarria here in Doha, it was instead Tajay Gayle who beat him to the punch courtesy of a stunning Jamaican record of 8.69m - the longest wind-legal leap in the world for ten years.
Playing the perfect game of catch me if you can, Gayle established control of the competition in round one with a splendid 14cm PB of 8.46m and the 23-year-old would remain unsurpassed throughout the competition.
Olympic champion Jeff Henderson of the USA competed resolutely to take silver with a best of 8.39m. While on this occasion, Echevarria of Cuba, had to settle for bronze with 8.34m.

Gayle seemed very raw. When Powell broke the WR he and his jump were very refined. Looking at Powell's performances from 1988-1995, impressive. If Gayle is equally dedicated he just may do it.

Apart from the sprints Jamaica really never really was dominant. Jamaica had a great decade with Blake, Powell and bolt You’re wrong for expecting gold when you’re last good sport is long jump. The South Africans dominate long distance while the sprints are now dominated by USA. I believe Blake would dominate the 100/200 if he didn’t get injured

Point to note: Manyonga and Ech had their Pb's with 1.5+ m/s wind.Gayle here had just 0.5 m/s. Wind makes a difference. Also Manyonga is 29 and close to the end of his career. Hope he can give a spectacular display at 2021 Olympics.So Gayle and Ech (23 and 21) are the future of long jump and look like they will have a long rivalry.

They sell TV broadcasting rights to different TV channels in different regions... So maybe it is part of contract.. so that the TV channels (along with their streaming apps) could generate enough profits with exclusive broadcasting rights from advertisement revenues. That's one of the most important aspect of modern sports broadcasting.. Also one of important ways how sporting federations make money for promoting their sports. Otherwise they also have live KZread streamings for some regions in some (less popular) competitions.

@kwezimashapa6425

These worlds didn't happen years ago, but I know exactly what you're talking about. Some fans like myself want to rewatch events from previous championships, but I have to rely on other channels. What's even more annoying is that those videos get copyrighted by World Athletics, but they still don't upload the videos and if they did it would probably only be a few seconds long. Now I understand that they did upload the full schedule for the World's, but some just want to watch a certain event and not the whole damn programme. It's also the same issue with the Olympic channel. At least now they might be noticing that fans are complaining about uploads coming out far too late after major championships. Compared to the past this seems more reasonable.

NBC don’t release these official videos till months maybe years later, this has to be a NBC or maybe BBC clip.
Why do you ruin the suspense of these competitions by putting a photo of the winner in the video thumbnail??? A lot of us did not see it originally and/or cannot remember who won and we enjoy not knowing who won in advance so we can enjoy the suspense!
