Ken no there’s not lol. Even if there was, how does more movement negate the fact that it would reduce fatigue on the shoulders? When he catches the weight on his back it is distributed across much larger muscles that wouldn’t struggle to absorb such a light weight, whereas the delts and triceps are working significantly harder to lower the same workload on their own. That’s pretty significant when you’re going for 3 heavy singles on the shoulder press.

Strongman and powerlifter's squats are roughly 2x these weights, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a strongman or powerlifter who could do the cardio like these guys above. Though Magnus ver Magnusson and Jouka Ahola and Mariusz Pudzianowski, in their day, could have competed in crossfit. @@callumjones2916 People also tend to not realize that for deadlift your underhand needs to be placed actually about an inch outside of where your overhand is placed in relation to the bar. I know I deadlifted a few years with alternating grip and did not know this until I started helicoptering all the time. Basically if you stand up with both your arms down in a double overhand position, then twist one to an underhand position without moving your elbow or shoulder position, you will notice that your hand ends up further away from your body. So to grab both the under and over hands at the same positions on the bar means that you are actually deadlifting with one of your arms more closely tucked to your body than the other and hence you will get unbalances and often a helicoptering motion.

The commentators don't know shit. They also failed to mention that Fraser used an olympic style bar whip at the top of the movement which when timed correctly is tremendous for generating power out of the hole since the bar bounces upwards at the same time that you are switching direction to upwards. Instead all the mentioned was how wide apart their feet were lmao. Not even high/low bar positioning or anything.

Yes, there was some controversy a few years ago where the guy who won second popped for PED's and was stripped of his reward and ranking. I believe the same thing happened on the women's side that same year, but that person wasn't ranked in the top 3. As with all sports, there are people on gear competing for sure and there are always people who will game the system.
