    I would have liked to see Bolt in the shape that he was in at the 2016 Olympics, but he was really off & sluggish, so he should have left with a bang inside of struggling to end off with a last championship... Coleman wouldn't have beaten Bolt at his last Olympic run for sure...

  • @Nyasalands_Finest

    Coleman would have beaten Bolt in Rio.. Coleman has run the 2 fastest times since 2012 Olympic final.. His performance in 2017 was after a long collegiate season. Ato Boldon said he should not go to London WC but Coleman did not listen

  • @TeStOs78

    @TeStOs78

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@Nyasalands_Finest What are you talking about, if you want to talk progression leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympics, Coleman's season best was 10.30 in 2014, 10.18 in 2015 & 9.95 in 2016. Comparatively, Bolt's season best was 9.98 in 2014, 9.79 in 2015 & 9.81 in 2016. So where do you see Coleman beating Bolt at Rio 2016, in a dream you had?? And one must consider that these athletes go through seasons with injuries, but putting injuries aside, a healthy injury-free Coleman wouldn't beat a healthy injury-free Bolt, and a matter a fact, Coleman wouldn't even beat a healthy Tyson Gay in his prime much less to Bolt. Coleman just recently set a PB of 9.76 in 2019 (that still puts him beneath Blake, Gay, Powell & Gatlin), a time Bolt was making in practice after running the 100m a couple of times and then going on to breaking the world record at the Reebok invitational in 2008. That's my perspective and the stats speak for themselves.

    @@TeStOs78bolt ran 9.86s in rio semi final easing down he would absolutly humiliate coleman in semi. London also had better conditions to run and normal recovery time so he would run low 9.7s in final. Bolt ran 9.81s with bad start and dead legs. They had only like 50 minutes to recover from semi so no-one was at their best. Nowadays they have full day to recover.

    @@alphaomega1459 I think his problem was mental. He was in the necessary shape to atleast get 2nd in this race, but unlike before, Usain Bolt tensed up and wasn't relaxed. The reason why he dominated these races so much is because he was relaxed, confident and actually executed. This time it didn't and I am pretty sure that Coleman's super start got to his head. I also think he didn't race enough. On another day Bolt maybe would win 3/10 times compared to Coleman and Gatlin.

  • @pena380

    @@Pumpxkinbolt would win 50/50. If bolt would have normal reaction time he would won regardless running relaxed or not. Bolt was bad shape but no-one else was not in good shape either. I mean relaxed bolt would probably win every time. Bolt start was 0,06 slower than coleman and 0,05 slower than gatlin. Before bolt would win with bad start with ease like rio 2016.

    @@kristoffermccarthy1847 the moment he turned his head you can see he turned the afterburners off. As a sprinter myself it's easy to tell when, specifically he was going about 95% at the 80 and 90% at the finish and still almost caught Coleman. But as for why? possibly because he's happy with his position in 2nd, going full blast could be too risky, maybe also a sportsmanship thing seeing the new generation of sprinters and to his surprise - put up a good race, in my opinion a "you deserve this one". fyi I've done the same thing so I kinda get why

  • @kristoffermccarthy1847

    @Speedyfrochesk we're clearly watching 2 different races. Bolt was no longer in good form and was a shell of his former self. Bolt ran 100% until the last 10m when he relaxed a little cuz he realised he wasn't going to catch Coleman so he just saved the remaining effort for the finals. Bolt himself said in the press conference after the race that because he wasn't in shape he knew he had to get the perfect start to win because he no longer had the top end speed to run people down.
