Being married and a father in the military, this song hits me right in the feels. I never know when I am going to have to leave them for months on end for whatever they have me doing. And it's not like I know I will always come back to them when it is all said and down. To have to be so far away for any given time is difficult. And I couldn't do it without my wife being as strong as she is.

Amen brother, the worry is real.. Just have to focus on the end goal. I know deployments can be long and when the shit hits the fan, you think if this is going to be it, will you be able to look at your family one more time and tell them that you love them. You just have to keep them with you always, because they are going to be the reason that you will make it to be able to go home and tell them how much you love them. Stay positive brother, because you are their hero. Best wishes and prayers to you and your family bud.

Kellin's voice goes perfectly along with this song, his pitch goes along with nothing wrong with it at all. Save your hate for someone that cares but Kellin puulled this song off exceptionally well. I love this song over all

My boyfriend who passed June 29th and I would listen to music while we were throwing back some beers this song would always be played. It doesn't get easier. I never wanted to live my life without him.

I feel so much more emotion in this version, its honestly heartbreakingly beautiful. you can feel the pain of his struggle of being so far away from home for months at a time and he is torn because he wants to be there for the people he loves but he also loves his fans and needs to be there for them as well and its just.... ugh it makes me so emotional...

Why do people judge on someone that they don't even know. I don't understand. Girls that love Kellin aren't "12 year old girls." Though we take offense it doesn't mean anything to our age, I just find it a little rude that you give negativity towards him. I'm a big fan of and other bands associated with his band. Stating my opinion, he cares for his fans dearly. Enough said.

I think part of my soul would die because like I CANT MOSH IN FRONT OF A STUDENT! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CROWD SURF OVER SOME KID THAT I KNOW LIKE STRUGGLES WITH MATH BUT IS AWESOME AT ENGLISH OR WHATEVER?????? And oh god think about the next day in class! That would be so so so awkward. oh my god. The possibility of this happening is actual really terrifying for me... and like what about the student! They go home and be like "Mom! Guess who I saw tonight?! Ms._____!!!!" and then come parent teacher interviews it would be so awkward and oh my god. (I'm really sorry, I know this is completely off topic but the thought formed in my mind at the mention of age and i started typing and couldn't stop.)

This song was me and my wife's song during our deployment in afghanistan. She was in bagram and I was in kandahar every night before bed we would give each other a call and listen to this song together. It brings a lot of different memories to mind both good and bad but as I look back I see that we grew stronger together as a couple throughout the deployment. The day we reunited we listened to it and slow danced under the stars. Its a very true song that captures the emotions of separation of those in love. Not to mention the music is beautiful.

If you didn't like the song, then why waste your time commenting your hates about it? I'm pretty sure the people who actually LIKE the song, like me, don't care to hear what you think was stupid or cliche about it.

I always find myself coming back to this song. it's honestly such an awesome song, acoustic or original.

I feel like this song is dedicated to everyone that can't be with their families every day because of their work. For those who works in a another city, state or even a different country than the one they live in. For those who can't sit around a table and eat dinner every night with their families because they work to far away. For those who have to leave their families every now and then and can't be with them for a couple weeks, months or years because of their work. For example artists, actors, actresses, servicemen etc. because of their work they can't be with their loved ones, their families, every day. They can't be there watch their children grow up. We don't understand how hard it is to leave your families for a long time because of your work until you have to do it yourself. They don't work with those things just for themselves. They do it for us, for their fans, for their families, for our lives. I think that we should appreciate them a lot more because of the things they sacrifice for their families, friends and for all the people they don't even know (us). To them I just want to say 'Thank you so much for all the things you do for us and I love you for that.'

Oh kellin just does a bridge. I doubt he wrote the melody and lyrics. Band usually just write things themselves, then let a friend do guest vocals. Kellin has nothing to do with the excellence of this song, and its not really a song for Katelynne Quinn either.

looking back at things i used to love almost 3 years ago, this song is truly beautiful.

I moved to a new city a little over a year ago. I left behind all that I knew, all of my friends, family, memories... this song makes me cry every time because I did leave my heart at home. My friends at home don't talk to me anymore, and they seemed to have moved on, and I have made no new friends still, but I am thankful for the wonderful time I had with my friends a year ago. I do feel alone, everyday at school, but these bands are what's keeping me going. It might be tough now, but it'll get better. I think I know the meaning behind this song. I believe that this singer of Memphis May Fire is away all the time and he misses his wife/girlfriend and he wants to come back home, however he also mentions that his fans and band members need him also. Kellin is like playing the part of the wife/girlfriend, telling him to carry on and be strong, especially the part when Kellin sings "if you miss me, I'm just a phone call away". It's a very emotional song, and sometimes I feel tearing up a little, but I love this song :)
