You guys are so natural at this. I love your videos. Been to memories twice and it’s still so nice to see a tour through someone else’s eyes. These are such great references for someone looking to travel to Cuba and unsure about the situation. Great tips this time for money too! Or things like dr and where to find places and hours. I keep seeing so many people confused about tips . I also find it changes location to location but in general your advice was best. Went to starfish cayo Guillermo in June and although it’s much more basic and the rooms are older I loved it and will be going back in September for five days. Very cool to see the kite surfing. Hoping to make it to playa Pilar next time. I would also say that common at memories to not have hot water but Starfish was almost too hot!

My friends and i we will be going to Cayo Coco for the first time- we will be staying at the Melia Jardines del Rey ❤

My wife and I just returned from Memories Caribe a couple of days ago. Mike and Jenny, you folks were so right, that beach is truly amazing!!!! Best food we have ever had in Cuba and the staff were incredible. I understand other travellers may not have had the experience we had, but it is a great resort! Remember, the chipped paint, the house fly in the room, no wine one day are just things that happen, don’t allow those things to dictate your vacation. We are there for the beaches, right!?! Thanks again for telling us of your experience. It helped us making the decision to go there! Will definitely return!! P.S. We heard your theme music playing there and had a toast to you, Jenny and your channel. Keep up the great work!!!

What was sanctuary like?

Love watching what both of you have to say when you go to a property. Very informative and positive. Heading to Memories in a few weeks. I was a little panicked by the reviews but watching your videos has made me feel so much better! Hopefully no issues with hot water when we go. Did you happen to notice any sparking wine? 😊. And if you found the rooms on the first floor musty? Thanks for the great videos!

We were in the Superior Room

your videos supported our decision to go to the Flamenco - in fact we just got back after 10 days yesterday....we are absolute fans of yours and appreciate your input, which we found quite spot on! The food is the week link in the chain, but that goes for the whole island. The people and the more than gorgeous beach make the difference! Happy trails :)

New subscriber here so catching up on older posts. I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying the channel. You are both so personable and natural on camera and your love for Cuba is so genuine and infectious. We haven't been to Cuba in well over a decade but watching your vlogs has definitely rekindled the fire to return. When we were there we stayed 4 times at Mojito (at the time it was an Iberostar resort) and really enjoyed it. Dated even then but the staff were fantastic, the food was palatable, we met so many fellow Canadians that we have remained friends with, the drinks flowed and a great time was had by all. Do you have any experience with Mojito ? I would be interested in your perspective. Keep up the excellent work, I look forward to new vlogs and who knows, maybe run into you in Cuba one day. I was definitely there when you were there. I actually seen my family in the water in your video. We had a different experience the junior suites, which is the room I believe you were in I think that’s what it’s called. We’re actually good but the other rooms are horrible. I had to upgrade to the junior suite because I couldn’t sleep in just the normal hotel room. The AC was not working at all in any of their rooms. Actually, there was a lot of complaints with all the guests. The food was great they even had a pasta bar. But one thing I did notice where there were a lot of cockroaches in the Bellini’s bar, and in the Buffet another thing that I didn’t like was the fact that their pool ladder wasn’t on properly and I ended up falling and breaking my whole toenail off and had to go see the medical, but was also being forced to sign a letter saying that it was my fault the beach was beautiful, but like you said bathwater, but I found it weird that you didn’t mention the fact that it smelt like sewage going to it or that it was really shallow And you had to go very far just to get up to your chest mind you I’m only 411 what I did enjoy was The staff in the food and once you get to the junior suite room, which I highly suggest if you go to that resort, only get that room, then your vacation will be better off and I’m not a picky person that was just my honest opinion but they did do something beautiful because I went for my birthday. They made a beautiful dinner set up for me and had a happy birthday sign, made a throne pretty much for me at the head of the table. The staff is wonderful and It. Is a nice resort just get the junior suite

Hey thanks, No WIFI in rooms and i do believe they filter the water but ask front desk, I have never had a problem with water but I DON"T DRINK THE WATER FROM THE TAP IN OUR ROOM.

Going August 26th was worried about the flies from other videos. But look ok now.

Fly and mosquitoes come and go!!! Depending on rain and weather!!! If it’s dry that will help!!! Just remember there only bugs!!! Don’t let it ruin your holiday!!! There will be the odd fly when eating and sitting outside but just like home!!!

HI Mike & Jen, We have stayed there many times and was last there in April for 2 weeks in 2023. The Flies were so bad, but the hotel and beach and food was great. We love that resort, but the flies were all over the food and everywhere like a horror movie. Now when were you last there. Is this Video in 2023 or a year ago. As most latest reviews in Sept still complain of the flies. We want to go back soon, but this would be a big problem.

Hey Mike, l am a subscriber, we love your videos.... No funky music playing in the background, you just keep it simple and to the point which we like. I have a question concerning this video. It looks like your room was the diamond club pool view building 29. Is this correct? We have picked this as our preferred room and will be requesting it before we go. If this was your room during this video, how was it? Any opinions or recommendations are very welcome. What are the noise levels like in this area? I found it loud!!! But I think the music Stopped around 11ish if I can remember!!! Our Room was nice!!! Comfortable and tidy!!!! But it was close to the pool so it can be noisy during the Day!!!! I think I was building 29 It was in July so I don’t really remember!!! My favourite Bungalow That was my favourite!!!!

You should be able to do that. If it a newer room the have USB plugs. If it older room you can unplug a light and use it

@@beingnadine9990 Happy to report that we had a great experience and we’re very happy to have stayed at Angsana. The resort was beautiful, the staff were accommodating, there was plenty of food and the beach was outstanding. The only downside was the extreme heat and humidity (we went at the end of August) and the sand flies which really sneak up on you.

I can't believe you recommended this resort. You made it look so much better then it is. I will never, ever consider returning.

Looks pretty decent to me as per Cuba standards. I was in Aruba last year 6200$ PP per week , extremely nice , they would wipe your rear end if you ask , but...... 6200$ I can chill for a month in Cuba for that money. So choose wisely.

I really like both Diamond clubs!!! But the Caribe is Adults only!!! Cuba is going through tough time right now!!! More than ever!!! I haven’t been to Caribe or Flamenco since September!!!! But I might consider moving to Caribe if the cost is very low!!!! But like I said I haven’t been there since September so I don’t know!!! I know they both have hot water issues going on!!!

We were in Cayo Santa Maria last August at Melia Buenavista and they had water issues one day we were there. Anyways thanks for the info and hope to run into you both in our travels some time.

Would you recommend this hotel for 2 couples, mid-forties first timers to Cuba? I saw some very bad reviews on KZread, flies on all the food at the buffet :( Is the buffet inside, closed in or open air? Do they have coffee cream for coffee? Hi Mike and Jen, I recently subscribed to your channel. We are going to Cayo Coco in a month. We were hesitating between Caribe and Flamenco, we watched lots your videos, we still couldn't make up our minds. Finally we booked Flamenco cuz my bf thinks it's bigger, he likes the site. Then I've been reading lots of bad comments re Flamenco, I got so stressed and scared, so I called Redtag, they changed me to Caribe. I hope I made a right decision. Thanks!

I was there last week and just got home SUNDAY, somethings are getting over dramatized, We ran out water 1 day and 2 partial days besides the usual run low on coke and soda one day, business as usual, Video hopefully out Saturday

Depends who I’m traveling with!!! If just me and my wife Caribe. If we have the kids Flamenco

No white wine is very sad 😢 I don’t care for sugary mixed drinks or beer. I wonder if this is a problem at all resorts?

Thank you so much for your videos: you make us discover so well the resorts, it’s awesome! (sorry for my english, I’m from Quebec, french language) I intend to return in Cayo Coco in August (my favorite place in Cuba for vacations during summer , I like calm and hot water!) Never been to memories Caribe, my only concern is regarding the rooms: is it worthed to choose the Diamond Club? In which block were you? You seem to say it was superior but it looks more like a suit diamond club near swimming pool? What do you recommand? I’m afraid of big coquerels in my room, and I always choose rooms second or third floor for that reason 😊 Thanks again for all your vidéos, I’m definetely one of your fan 😊 Nice vacations to the two of you!

Cathy Wilson!!!!! Well to me it’s not really about the resort!!! But about its surroundings!!! I rarely travel for a resort but more for the beach and everything after that comes second!!!! I’m working on my top 5 resorts right now

@Finding-Fish yes so true. My husband and I have been to cuba over 10 times mostly to las dunas but looking for somewhere new. We follow you faithfully and can never decide.

We went to Memories Caribe in CAYO COCO in 2022, it was all good until we saw cockroaches both in the buffet feeding from sweets and in our friend’s room.That’s a red flag for us, however the beach was nice.

Unfortunately bugs come and go!!!! It sucks Cuba and the tropics isn’t for everyone

You need to go back and make a different review. This resort has gone downhill fast. Met many travellers that have been multiple times as return guests. They have all commented on how its deteriorating. They all said they wouldn't go back. For many reasons. And not because of shortages. I myself will never go back. They even used coffee pods and instant coffee. Both me and my husband also got food poisoning. They sprayed deisle for the bugs between the snack bar, pool and buffet during supper! Without warning anyone! Big black deisle smoke everywhere. People running for cover. Thankfully the beach was beautiful.

@Finding-Fish our room smelled like sewer. The bathrooms in the snack bar was backed up the whole 7 days. Nobody cleaned the poop on seats for days. I understand the shortages. But cleaning isn't a shortage. The tables at snack bar rarely washed off. A la carts we're always "full" even diamond club couldn't book any. Apparently there was a management change?Both my husband and i got food poisoning, not sure from what. I feel so sorry for the staff. They were so nice. This reflects on them. Most of the issues aren't their faults. They sprayed deisle in the main area without warning to try to control the bugs. We made the best of it.....but not going back. Even the coffee was horrible. Bought my own coffee on an excursion for them to use instead of the instant liquid stuff and pods. Weather wasn't anyone's fault. On the 4 cold days the beach grill was closed. When it warmed up still no exclusive grill lunch. Diamond club upgrades were not worthwhile.

Currently here and there is no pop, no ketchup, no beef, Buffett is very limited and repetitive, no draft beer…I booked here by watching this video but apparently this is paid fake advertising

I was there with my family last October and it was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE room. 4/10 buffet 0/10 the worst. Roaches around the food flies everywhere service bad Only the beach was the only part we liked so and have pics and videos of it. So no 👎

Wow!!!! Nelly, roaches 🪳 I saw a lot in Thailand too!!! They do love the tropics!!! Sorry to hear it was horrible!!! Cuba and the tropics aren’t for everyone

You've lost me as a subscriber. You made this place look good, which influenced me to vacation there. Absolutely disgusting experience. You won't fool me again with your videos.

@@Finding-Fish we just returned from Memories Caribe. Beach was great ,but that's about it.

Just got back from here last night….went with lower expectations around the food and shortage’s but jeez….No eggs, no pop, no wine, no hot water, sometimes no water at all, hotel and rooms are extremely run down and needs some desperate attention. The beach is absolutely stunning so that’s a plus. We had booked a bungalow with outdoor shower and never received that room. Instead we had a room from the 1950s where the shower was non existent and cockroaches running wild. Will shall never return to Cuba and will happily pay the extra $ to go to the DR or Mexico….oh and if you love black flies all in your food and drinks then you will be right at home lol…Ive never seen so many flies. Bugs on the beach were horrific on calm days, people getting cortisone shots from the doctor on the resort

@@Finding-Fish It is what it is really…in my mind it makes more sense to spend that extra $ and not have to pack food and drink to go on an all inclusive vacation. The covid shutdowns really have obliterated their tourist industry
