----------
Melvin Farmer opened up to VladTV about meeting Tookie Williams' sister in the 8th grade and being around him ever since. Farmer explained that he was with the Crips since they were established in 1971, adding that he was already in various crews before then. He went on to speak about different sets identifying themselves before colors, and Melvin also spoke about adding "Gangster Crips" to his Eight Tray set. To hear more, including never publicly speaking about the first person he saw get killed, hit the above clip.

It's just the style & soul in Black people that pull us together... I'm not here to go back and forth about Eastside vs Westside, Raymond vs Tookie They both put Cripping on the map together so that's where I stand, I notice alot of y'all like to pin Raymond against Tookie or glorify the Eastside over the West... I don't get involved in those kinda debates because it's the Willie Lynch Syndrome... Tookie is the most known Crip in history and alot of factors play in that, We all know Raymond was the Founder, not disputing that but him being the Founder doesn't rank him over Tookie because when they joined forces they were equal in leadership... Raymond ran the East Tookie ran the West and even left his influence in Compton... The Eastside used to be the black mecca and now it's the Westside, I'm only into telling facts bro
