I went today to Bath and Body Works and smelled the demoned Blueberry Maple Pancake candle and how Saf describes it couldn't prepare me to what actually smelled like, it smacked me right and my nostrils, and the scent went deep into my brain

I clean houses for a living, one of my clients had the blueberry maple pancake three wick. She lit the candle while we were cleaning. I could smell it EVERYWHERE in her 6,000 square foot home. SIX THOUSAND. And it basically gassed me out of the room it was lit in. I like the scent, but I only buy it in the single wick, to contain its power

Also, as another commenter pointed out, she could definitely burn one candle for longer than a day. (I dunno about _”3 months”_ like they said though.) So, yeah, 5,886 candles would last a looong ass time. Hahaha. I’ll try my best to break it down, but I’m not very good at math, so please bear with me. Let’s say, rather conservatively, that each candle only lasts her two weeks. (Which is pretty conservative as I’m _sure_ each candle would last a good while longer than that. But we’ll go with it ‘cuz it makes the math a touch easier! Haha.) Anyway, at 2 weeks per candle, that’s 2,943 weeks. There are, approximately, 52 weeks in a year. Sooo, that would last her, roughly, 56 1/2 years. Saf is 27, so at 2 weeks per candle, 5,886 candles would last her until she’s 83. (Which she’ll, hopefully, live well beyond.) Having said _all_ of that, I truly think that each candle would probably last her closer to a month. Now, if that ends up being the case then, yes, 5,886 candles would _definitely_ last her a lifetime. (Unless Saf lives to be 140 years old, which is pretty doubtful! Haha.) If she were to _somehow_ use each candle up in a day, (By, I dunno, dumping out all of the hot wax as it burns for some weird reason.) Then they would only last her until she’s 43, or for 16 years. *Please note that it’s very likely that I messed up on the math somewhere, somehow and I’m totally wrong. But it is what it is. Also, please don’t ask me why I felt the need to do all of this. I guess I’m just that bored right now. LOL.*

This did make me wonder if it's possible to create a candle large enough and with a long enough wick and enough different layers. So that you could light it January 1st, never blow it out and let it burn through layers with each layer timed to be the perfect scents for that month or season and it wouldnt go out until December 31st? 🤔

I have watched this video SO many times and I finally did the math and for 117 candles at ~$25 it cost $2,925 and that just blows my mind.

You know how they have that candle brand (Homesick) that has a scent for all of the 50 states? If she melted down all 50, we'd know what America smells like.

To be fair the maple blueberry candle us sk strong it should be classified a weapon....I put in an order of 15 candles for my birthday last candle day....when my mailman delivered it he straight up asked if I'd ordered apple pie from one of those fancy bakeries that ship across the country...so that blueberry scent was do strong it read through, a snuggly placed metal lid, 14 other candles and their scents, being *UNDER* the other candles in the box, and heavy duty packaging that they always do such a great job at in terms of securing the fragile (glorious gift from heaven..) products .. And you could still smell that blueberry madness in a 15 foot radius of the offending box lol

This is a walk down memory lane for all the scents that have since become discontinued. 😆

I simply could not leave enough alone. Behold, the calculations behind how much those candles would have cost. Let's start with what I got from the video: there are a few signs that can be seen advertising $15.50 as the price of one 3 wick candle. The first and most basic calculation, then, would be multiplying Saf's 117 candles by a rough mean price of $15.50, which would come out to be $1,813.50. Now, looking at the website (be it four years later... Apologies for accuracy's sake), the online prices are slightly different. The prices range from one $14.50 candle to a few which are $19.95. The current number of candles on-site is 124, which, when I counted each candle with its price, gave me a mean price of $16.43 per candle. Multiplying this by Saf's 117 candles gives us a whopping price of $1,922.31. Now, the mode cost of three-wick candles (meaning the grand majority of the candles are this price) on the B&BW site is actually $16.95, which means we could also use this as our baseline price should we so please. That would come out to $1,983.15, less than our true mean price and more than our basic mean price. For kicks and giggles, between those three prices I calculated, we could give a mean price of $1,906.32. Do with that what you will, friends.

I went to one of these stores the other day (5 years later) and they are now charging $27 for one 3 wick candle 😵‍💫

I feel like Tyler's "I promised my mom!" is such an iconic SafTy moment! I love them.

If she still has those candles, I would love to see her do mini-frankencandles! maybe do some within the subcategories like she did with the frankenlipsticks! this way she could smell some more of those undertones and drowned out scents!

I love how thorough this is. It’s not just hey, i sat in my house all day and melted a bunch of candles together, it’s that plus I sorted over 100 candles, counted how many times each type of scent was used, got the expert opinion of a candle maker, and resniffed all 117 candles to analyze the final product.

I love the fact that she couldve made this so much easier for herself and not sort it all and make it look amazing but the fact that she took the time to go through all of these candles and sort them is just beautiful.

I've watched this multiple times over the years and watching it now after almost a year of working at Bath and Body Works I feel like Saf should absolute do another one of these with all the newer scents 🤣

These videos are so satisfying. The methodology. The data collection and presentation. The fact that I can learn the results without having to do any of this tedious labor or spend an insane amount of money. Its no wonder Saf and Cris are friends. They are both total data nerds and science queens!

I can't believe how much time got into this video! First editing the whole thing, then putting the name next to EVERY candle you scooped, while getting the right shot. Going upstairs to smell it, taking another day to ask strangers for their opinions, smelling EVERY candle to match the scent and in the end asking an expert . She really presents everything like it's a science or educational experiment that's what I love about her channel she can make the most ridiculous clickbaity challenge and would still find a way to put some form on research into it and make it interesting and a learning experience (even if it's answering questions I never ever asked like the franken sephora lipstick. I don't even shop at sephora. It still was really interesting to hear her conclusions and analysis on consumers or companies preferences based on the experience). She never make everything seem boring or like a wast of time. You always learn something (not always the most useful things but hey the more you know..)
