    You can also use a pair of pliers when heating just put the hold pliers on the opening part and melt circling around and it’s easier and you won’t burn your hand I also saw someone else using tongs

    A pencil sharpener would work great to shave the crayon into more manageable pieces.

    very pretty... I got the same effect by swirling in some slightly loosened acrylic paint

    My little friends love to make rainbow crayons using silicone cupcake holders they put them I'm oven on low temp til all melt and then we put in freezer til they harden again. Could you use the same melting way and then just pour melted crayon right into the ornament using a little funnel

    im sure you could get a hot pot of water going and partially submerge the ornament to get it going

    Is the effect of the crayon different than using paint? What would you say the advantage is? I think these are pretty but not sure it's worth the risk of getting injured! Ha! Thank you for sharing!

    I believe that it is totally different then paint. I get more design and control. But if you are not comfortable use the paint. You might really like it.

    I will probably give it a try since you get more design and control! Thanks for letting me know! I'll let you know if I injure myself! Ha!

    Very pretty. Just a thought, it would make it easier for those of us who have never done this craft, for you to explain what you're doing. You know and it probably seems apparent to us that it's self explanatory but I had a hard time following you. I didn't even realize you changed crayons on the first one until you were just about done and I saw the variation of color between blue and white. Plus you talked to yourself all the way through it. Just a thought from a newbie, I do appreciate you sharing your talent.

    Two questions: A) how heavy do these ornaments become? b) how brittle do they turn?

  • @Miriamjoy123

    @Miriamjoy123

    9 жыл бұрын

    They do not get that heavy at all. It is a thin layer of wax. They do not become brittle. I used mine on a Christmas ornament. Here is anther way to do the wax ornaments. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n56fx5ltZaXecrQ.html You can also do it on a wood.

    Hi, could you hold the ornament with tweezers of some sort, plastic or metal, or, hold it in a vice or some sort, or do you think it would shatter the ornament, can you melt the crayon first and pour it into the ball instead? being disabled, my fingers are clumsy , so I am looking for an alternative, gloves are out I am afraid, thanks

    +Munchkin Heaven You need to be able to move the bulb around before the crayon cools. You might try heating it on the ornament hanger and moving it around with your gloved hand. Another option would be a thick silicone ring that you can heat it on and the move it around just by pushing it with a gloved finger.

    I've seen others use nail polish in the bulbs. I don't know if they were made of glass or plastic bulbs though.
