I'm so sorry. No one should have their heart broken at 73 😞
She should be a much bigger star than she is. Unique and classy.

She is divine !!! Below, for those who don't know, here's a little of her story. Simply fantastic voice !!! ________ "While riding her bicycle in Philadelphia in November 2003, Gardot was struck by the driver of an SUV and sustained head, spinal, and pelvic injuries.Confined to a hospital bed for a year, she needed to relearn simple tasks and was left oversensitive to light and sound. Suffering from short- and long-term memory loss, she struggled with her sense of time. Encouraged by a physician who believed music would help heal her brain, Gardot learned to hum, then to sing into a tape recorder, and eventually to write songs. For several years, she traveled with a physiotherapist and carried a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator to reduce pain. Given her oversensitivity to sound, she chose quieter music. On the treadmill, she listened to bossa nova by Stan Getz. Unable to sit comfortably at the piano, she learned to play guitar on her back.During her recovery, she wrote songs that became part of the self-produced EP Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions. Gardot was reluctant to record her songs at first, stating that they were too private for the public to hear, but relented and allowed her songs to be played on a Philadelphia radio station."

Yes I knew, but not in this explicit way. And I still think that her music is something else, not something to be a result of an accident. Something much more.

Она удивительная!!восхищаюсь её голосом,красотой,стилем!
After one learns the circumstances behind Melody Gardot's early life one can only listen to this marvelous performance with added appreciation. Some human beings rise to the heights, in spite of difficulties that would have kept other people from accomplishing something great. She is one of the special ones. This performance is gold. "Baby, I'm a Fool" = A+++

@@alicelee5045 In the years when she was still regrouping Melody traveled with a physiotherapist and carried a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator to reduce pain from her bicycle accident. I thought it very cool that when she worked out on the treadmill, she listened to Bossa Nova by Stan Getz. I am solidly into Bossa Nova so that really resonates with me (started at the age of 10 and kept going).
She's the perfect match with my favorite coffee and a rainy afternoon ...

Melody you are such a sweet melody. Melody vous êtes une si douce mélodie: J'adore vos chansons!
It's like Jazz musicians inhabit another world, yet, with their music, we are allowed to visit it.
Melody Gardot is simply a unique and incredibly gifted artist. She continues to inspire her audience with with an array of beautifully written music which touches the soul and heart. Quite frankly, she's like a priceless jewel or painting. Thank you Ms. Gardot for putting a "move on my heart."

What damn adjectives should I use to describe her & her voice? Majestic? Holy? Elegant? Velvet? Classy? Out-of-this-world? Unique? Sexy? Mesmerizing? Breath-taking? I've been in love with her voice & aura for 10 years or so. Wish her health & well-being & prosperity ever more.

the most tender sense of control is in singing. Thank you.
I'm liking the fine distraction of the drummer's brush sticks, not struck but stirrrrrred ... violins slightly sorrowful yet still trying to be upbeat. Jazz 'n' Blues . . . with you . . . in mind, thoughtful and kind.
She's absolutely so talented. An incredibly unique voice. And amazing style. Love this Lady!
She has so many qualities that remind me so many great artists from Edith Piaf to Leonard Cohen. She is not only talented but you can really feel her through the music.
What a beautiful voice. And I’m amazed by her life story. When I watch the tv talent shows, it always annoys me when they say someone has a great/ incredible / amazing voice when all they are is loud.
