Sting - live session at the Panthéon in Paris - ARTE Concert

Pour les 50 ans de la station Fip, @theofficialsting entre au Panthéon-CMN le temps d’un concert exclusif. Un temple à la démesure du musicien au presque demi-siècle de carrière.
Sting et le Panthéon-CMN, c’est une rencontre insolite entre deux géants, un télescopage entre patrimoine et culture pop. Quand l’iconique "Message in a Bottle" (1979) résonne sous la voûte vertigineuse du monument, le temps paraît étrangement suspendu. Basse en éternelle complice, le chanteur-musicien britannique se produit en concert privé dans le sanctuaire parisien à l’occasion des 50 ans de la station publique Fip − "un grand honneur" sourit-il. Le rocker gentleman traverse à la vitesse de l’Eurostar sa prodigieuse carrière pour un condensé de son univers depuis Police, groupe phare des années 1980, entre tubes planétaires et succès plus discrets. De sa voix envoûtante, celui que l’expert Bob Geldof a jugé "le plus doué de sa génération" débute sa performance par la lancinante balade "Shape of My Heart", écrite par son ami guitariste Dominic Miller, qui l’accompagne ici, avec Frédéric Renaudin au clavier, Rhani Krija aux percussions et les choristes Sophie Thiam et Othman Coradidi.
Le fringant septuagénaire offre aussi des titres de son nouvel album "The Bridge", dans les bacs le 19 novembre, parmi lesquels le joyeux "If It’s Love", à l’intro facétieusement sifflotée, et "Rushing Water". Extraite de son album "Nothing Like"" the Sun", la chanson "Fragile", hommage à un ingénieur américain tué par les Contras au Nicaragua en 1987, rappelle ensuite les engagements qui n’ont cessé de jalonner son parcours d’électron libre. C’est en raison de ses liens anciens avec la France que Fip a invité Sting, de son vrai nom Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, fils d’ouvrier des chantiers navals grandi à Newcastle et désormais habitant de Senlis, dans l’Oise. Un an après les attentats du 13 novembre 2015, celui qui a souvent collaboré avec des artistes hexagonaux a aussi été le premier à se produire à nouveau au Bataclan. Il montre une fois encore, avec cette prestation hors norme, toute l’étendue de sa classieuse maîtrise.

@@christianchaix2049 Le mouvement d'un pendule est indépendant de celui de la Terre, on a l'impression que le mouvement de va-et-vient du pendule tourne très doucement sur plusieurs heures, mais c'est en fait le sol, la Terre qui tourne sur elle-même, le mouvement de balancier du pendule reste immobile. Ce pendule prouve la rotation de la Terre.
70 years old and still so much in very good shape and the voice is still amazing, no false note, Sting is the living evidence there's no need vocoder aud audiotune, of course he's not the only one talented and very good live, the sound is perfect, I don't have the feeling to hear a live. All my congratulations to the audio engineers.

Einfach grossartig. Es könnte in diesen dunklen Monaten nicht´s besseres geben. Ich glaube ganz fest daran, dass dies eine Botschaft von diesem Weltklasse Musiker STING an diesen Planeten ist. Wirklich toll und danke ´´arte´´ dass ihr solche Dinge möglich macht.

This is the sound of rushing music running thru our brain, the sound of stings own music, helping make me sane. Like water filling in a crack, the music soaks my soul, makes me ache.
Tout juste hypnotique. Avec ce pendule au rythme céleste suspendu entre ciel et terre. La musique habille la pierre intemporelle de ce lieu du velour d'un instant. Indispensable.

J'ignorais cet évènement. Monsieur STING et ses musiciens sont empreints de l'émotion et du respect dus à ces lieux. Superbe. Merci.
Je ne sais pas qui a eu cette idée mais qu'elle est bonne. Un artiste au panthéon, avec tous les sens qu'on peut lui donner. 5 décennies qu'il m'accompagne dans les bons comme les mauvais moments. ❤️ Sting

To groove and be quiet at the same time is much harder to do, than most people know. This is a master example of it

Sting has become very dear to me in the past few years. This performance is new to me and whoa. The acoustics here are ridiculous and the song selections are perfect for this building. There's a lovely Christmas concert you will enjoy, given in a cathedral. And also the live show from Berlin, and a musical he wrote.

Sting can sing ANYwhere but his taste for this exquisite place is perfect. Surrounded by French great spirits as public is well-chosen. A real artist creates but also recreates his art. Sting is a real artist.

Quelle chance d'avoir une chaine tv du niveau de qualité d'Arte . "Surveillez" les programmes du dimanche soir tard, genre minuit -1 heure du matin : il y a des concerts de classique de grande qualité, revisionnables à toute heure pendant 4 semaines grâce à Arte replay.
Sting has the quality of a soul master. Always one is moved with emotions. I love this video. I have been inside this church and took photographs. So truly beautiful a space to play and sing.❤️
